It is very important for you to understand that ART isn't Murderbot's friend. It doesn't do friends! It just provides Mutual Administrative Assistance.
Two Murderbot shirts were simply not enough! In celebration of the season finale and it getting renewed for a second season, we are dropping a brand new Murderbot design. Now you can be a part of ART's crew, rep Murderbot's favorite show, AND show your own not-bestie that you care with this heart made of circuitry.
If you don't know us yet, we're Polycraftory: your friendly neighborhood polycule of queer disabled creators! We make queer nerdy merch and talk a lot about our fav media and crafts on our blog. Reblogs go a long way to help us out <3 You can find the dastardly links directly to our Murderbot shirts in a reblog so that our favorite hellsite actually maybe shows our post to anyone ever???

Labyrinth Boutique
Yesterday K and I went in to town to visit a shop called "Buttercup Boutique." If that sounds a little precious, well, it is, but it's also a small, locally owned business, so. In we went. K wanted to shop for a friend's upcoming birthday. The proprietor popped up after a while and greeted us, then, thankfully, left us alone to browse.
It's worth noting that our town, cut up as it is by rail lines, watercourses, and steep ridges, does not have anything like a regular grid pattern of streets. This shop is in an area between an east/west street and a rail line that has no cross streets, just sketchy little alleys and ambiguous small parking lots. The boutique is in what appears from the street to be a normal, modest-sized building two rooms wide, But! Look out.
The first room that you enter has some pretty jewelry, the sales counter in a side room to the right, a stairway, and a doorway in the back that leads to. A room with cute clothes. K saw several things her friend would like. Then there was another door leading onward into a room with some more clothes and shoes. Off to the left side of that (where did the right side of the building go? Unsure) was another small room with mirrors and a dressing room. A hallway leads further back into the building and down a ramp. Some baby/kids stuff there, stuffed animals, clothes, and a rack of kids books. One, about a sculptor, was really cute; I would have bought that 15 yrs ago. K found a package of blank-inside greeting cars she fell in love with.
Behind that was an archway that lead two directions. I'm starting to feel a little, concerned. "Oh, no, Farm Mom got isekaied!" I'm thinking to myself. A Tumblr comment that lodged in my brain last year. To the left of the archway is a room that is Much Larger than the front of the building. Two women are sitting in this big, rather empty room seemingly having a meeting. Is there interior design happening here? Wedding planning? I was a little curious about the room, but I didn't want to intrude on the ladies. We went to the right, where two more rooms also seemed to extend well beyond the side-to-side dimensions of the front of the store.
There were some decorative plates in there, but Things to Buy were definitely tapering off and empty space / random furniture was taking over. In the back corner, a rather awful beige dress hung on a mannequin. There were more wide doors/archways, in two different directions. They had curtains hung across them. The one at the 'back' of the room we were in must conceal a back window to the building, right? I mean, we must be at the end of this journey? Nope. It was not accessible, I would have had to scramble over a small jumble of random furniture to get to it, (and, boy, was I tempted) but I could tell by craning to look over the furniture that there was no window or exterior door concealed by the curtain, the carpet continued under it and beyond. ?
I was almost surprised when we walked back toward the front of the building and actually made it out. Found another little room along the way. K paid for the items she had chosen and we walked back into the hot, miserable sunlight of a summer afternoon. It was the same day. Probably.
