It's the end of the road

Where did all the good times go? Back when we only used to worry about which fanart to put as our laptop wallpaper and what to make our tumblr url, when we spent our days reading fanfics and creating whatever we could to add to the series we loved; but now it seems like we don't have time for that anymore. We're all growing up. The world is getting worse and worse and things are so scary and sad now. We aren't in school anymore. We aren't even the same as we were back then, no matter how we want to think about it we HAVE changed. We all miss the days when we could log into tumblr and read fanfics for hours and laugh about otps with our best friends, but life catches up eventually. Life moves on and it doesn't wait for you, and the next thing you know, you haven't even spoken to those friends in years. But why? We all want to think that we're in charge of our own fates, but if we were, then why is everything so empty now? The fandoms, the stories we write, the shows we post, it all just seems so meaningless now, but why?

We don't take breaks from our own lives anymore. One day you log off of tumblr for the night, and the next thing you know you're married with kids, and you still haven't logged on to date- and you're unhappy. Sure, maybe you'll log back on for the memories but I can't be the only one to say it all just feels so meaningless.

We struggle with loveless marriages, self harm, stress, politics, when we used to be so happy just browsing the internet.
