okay now I'm curious and I dunno if this is really such an archaic foreign thing to young people today or if I'm just out of touch
Please reblog, I'd love to see a lot of responses!

REMEMBER:
if you don't understand the post at a glance it's because op wrote it wrong and needs your help
if the post doesn't contain all the contextualising information you need to understand it, op is gaslighting you
if you haven't experienced the phenomenon the post describes, op is making it up for clout
if you haven't encountered the type of person the post describes, they're a strawman that doesn't exist
if the post doesn't address a topic you'd prefer to talk about, it's a distraction, missing the point, and talking over you
if the post makes a good point, it is your duty to contribute to human enlightenment by nitpicking it to be more correct
and most importantly:
every online conversation is a competition and you must win

I used to work security for a huge sports complex. There was a very strong difference between the people that took the job seriously and mostly just did it for part-time weekend/night work, and people who took it very seriously and saw the job as a stepping stone to be a cop. A few too many fantasized about another shooting happening so they'd be able to use their firearms.
In the few months I was there, the only serious thing that happened was a kid breaking his neck in the midst of the enormous national meeting of the Filipino Youth Basketball Association. Our team was able to very efficiently stop those around from crowding him too much, and guiding the EMTs to and fro. Not too useful for the rest of the time.
I tried really hard to like all my coworkers. Some of them were fine people. The kindest person, a woman with an upbringing as rural as you can get, couldn't wait to be a cop. I hope she's okay. The rest didn't make it easy, from the 20 year old with "Sic Semper Tyranus" tattoed on his arm ("nahhh bro it's not about Lincoln they shouted that during the Revolution too") to the veteran who in my first interaction with him, ranted about Starbucks Christmas cups. It was July. The boss' son, and two more workers, were fired for posting on Instagram a picture with their weapons pointed to the camera, telling shooters to try their luck at the sports complex.
TL;DR Working security sucks only a little less than being unemployed
I fucking hate security guards I especially hate the ones in hospitals they're such fucking shithead bootlickers

If Steven Universe ever returned, what is it that you want to see? Would you like a series that explores on different characters in different episodes? Much like Adventure Time in the later seasons or maybe a prequel series that explores more of the Diamonds backstory?
I've always said this is what my idea is and this Ask was my excuse to draw it finally 😂
Steven falling for every single tourist trap on his road trip without losing even an ounce of enthusiasm for any of them seems like a very Steven thing to me.
