Happy 8th Year Moving To Utah Anniversary To Me ~ I've Been Home For 8 Years

Hello, lovelies~! August 21st was my 8th year moving to Utah anniversary! But, most importantly, I’ve been home for 8 years. I was born and raised in Illinois, which is also where I was when I met Jen, except we met online on the official Harry Potter message board back in ‘03! We became best friends, fell in love, started dating, and became engaged all before we had seen each other face-to-face! There were a lot of people who believed we wouldn’t last as a couple because of the distance (and because we were so young), but here we are, 12 years later.   I turned 18 on July 28th, 2007 and my birthday gift from my parents was a flight ticket to Utah. On August 21st, 2007, I landed at Salt Lake International Airport, and Jen was waiting for me! I walked up to her, and she handed me flowers, and everything was perfect because she was right there with me and I was home!!! I remember so much, so clearly, despite the fact that I had an absolutely awful cold (and didn’t realize until a day later, which I’ll talk about in a moment.) One of my favorite memories is from that night, when we sat outside in Jen’s backyard and held hands and watched the sunset. Eeee. So, that cold! Despite remembering everything clearly, I wasn’t acting like myself. I guess I was bumping into everything, and mumbling, and none of us knew I was sick, so Jen and her parents had no idea what was wrong with me. SO EMBARRASSING. But, Jen took the best care of me, before and after she knew what was going on. The original plan was that Jen and her parents would take me in their motorhome for a visit to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon! I was only supposed to be here for one week, so I could meet Jen and her parents and see those two places, but obviously… I didn’t leave. I couldn’t. I was home, with Jen. There was no where else I wanted to be! Late one night, while sitting outside in Bryce Canyon, Jen said the same thing. She didn’t want me to leave. So… I moved in! Once we came back from our trip (which was absolutely amazing and in 2009, Jen and I actually worked in Bryce Canyon, so we got to see everything again), she told her parents and I told mine, and her parents said I could move in! Both my father and mother figured I wouldn’t leave, once I came here. Less than a month later, Jen and I said 'I Do’ and got married. I’ll talk more about that in September! Since I moved here, I’ve seen beautiful places in the West - Utah, Nevada, a bit of Arizona. I’ve worked unique jobs, like on the lake at Halls Crossing, Lake Powell. I’ve watched the sun rise and set in the beautiful Western sky, and most importantly, I’ve been home, because wherever Jen is, is my home.   So while Utah, and the West, is beautiful, it’s because of her that I celebrate. It’s because of her that I am home~!

What the hell is L drinking?

If I have a favorite anime, manga, TV series, etc. I will look up trivia like crazy, and when there’s a fandom that I really really really love (Death Note IS #1), I want to know everything. 

So, there’s something that L is constantly drinking from a pouch.

Butttt, everyone’s confused as to what this actually is. From the appearance, my first thought was one of the those blended veggie / fruit smoothies that are sold here in the US. That was until Ryuk (shut up, I don’t know who’s in charge of the official Twitter, and it’s Ryuk’s picture, so it’s him) showed the Lucky Charge storage area.

The thing is, ‘jelly’ was mentioned. Lucky Charge jelly. So, is L drinking jelly from a pouch? I looked up Lucky Charge, but sadly it’s just a DN drama related thing. ;.; Untillll…

I found these to buy from the official store. They’re tablets, so you chew them (I personally think they look chalky, not chewy, but either way probably delicious) and they’re in apple Ramune soda flavor. But, Ramune doesn’t come in pouches. Ryuk did, however, say - this time - ‘soda’. (Um, and also bean paste, but I truly doubt L’s drinking straight up bean paste.)

Finally, I found this, unrelated to DN buttttt maybe the actual ‘thing’ that Lucky Charge is supposed to be?

3. Purun Purun Qoo Muscat: Adding skimmed milk is not the only non-traditional soft drink technique to be found in the aisles of Mitsuwa. One of the most interesting alternate forms of soft drink is the gel-pouch soda, and Purun Purun Qoo is a great example of the type. It comes in a squeezable green pouch with a plastic nozzle, and a logo featuring a round-faced, one-eared animal (a cat, perhaps) drinking a green pouch bearing a logo of a strange animal drinking a green pouch. Trippy. The taste is, unsurprisingly, quite sweet but clearly muscat flavor, and the chunky jelly texture is fun and interesting. - L.A. Weekly

JELLY. SODA. So, if you want something similar to what L is drinking, probably pick up some Purun Purun Qoo. Apple is a flavor, too!

No problem! I’ve read the manga so many times, so it’s easy to figure out what’s going on in what arc and such! It’s pure geekery. XD If you do watch the drama, I hope you enjoy. It’s honestly really good, in my opinion. Light’s different, some -including me at the beginning- might say cheesy, but I think he’s more realistic, if you will. Anyway! If you watch, have fun! ^_^

At this point, he’s lost his memories. During that arc, he truly does want to be friends with L. I actually really like this part of the anime, manga, etc, though the beginning will forever be my favorite, I think.

Oooo, first, a game is very personal if you have an idea of what he’d like. My wife and I love gaming, it’s a huge part of our life, and I can’t tell you how special a new game is for a holiday or just because! Butttt, if you don’t want to do that, here are some ideas:

Is he a big coffee or tea drinker? Personalize a kick ass mug, get him some good coffee or make him a specialized tea (there are sites where you can do this.) 

Beards are back in style, does he have one? There’s all sorts of beard grooming supplies that can be, again, personalized and you can even get him an old timey set that’s more expensive, not to mention actual necessities

Gamer wise, Nintendo has all sorts of figurines. Does he like Link or Zelda? Does he love Kirby? Does he really love retro Nintendo games, like you mentioned the 64 which is older-ish. There’s t-shirts, stuffed animals (yes - guys love them too), figurines like I said, etc. There are also old games, check eBay!

Let me know what his hobbies / interests / gaming interests in further detail are if you need more help. Good luck! And remember, whatever you get him, it’s coming from you and is special because of that and he’ll probably love it. 

guys help me I don’t know what to give my boyfriend for his birthday.. he is getting 24 he is into video games (e.g Pokemon and all the Nintendo stuff but also things like farcry or borderlands) but I don’t just want to present him a game or something :( it is not personal

and I feel so uncreative gnaaah

last year I presented him a nintendo 64 I’m not sure how to top this !?
