There’s a wide spectrum of ideas that aren’t feminist, and considering that she panders to pedophilic men by doing a lolita photo shoot her intentions are clear.
She promotes the idea that women aren’t equal to men. Considering that literal nazis are celebrating her all over twitter it’s obvious that it’s harmful propaganda.
If you don’t accept propaganda as being harmful then that’s your own problem.
edit: She’s now talking about BBC. She’s pandering to racist porn sick men 💀
i think what's holding back the sabrina discourse is that choice feminists do not fundamentally believe in socialization or the choices you make not being in a vacuum.
choice feminists think they're the ones who are free because they believe criticism of pandering to the patriarchy is centering men itself. therefore the natural solution is making "any" choice you want and saying you don't do it for men.
essentially, if you ignore the patriarchy and pretend it's not real, it will go away, and if you point it out YOU are the misogynist because you are "creating" it.
they do not have a concept that they themselves are influenced by society to act in favor of the patriarchy. this logic is only used as an argument against feminism, they understand why it is ridiculous to try to solve other forms of bigotry by accusing people who point it out as people perpetuating it.
additionally, many see modesty as the sole patriarchal standard for women, despite this being historically inaccurate. in reality, it is a double-sided coin. they use porn, buy magazines, the main difference is that they own women privately. what makes it a "sin" is that she is sexually available publicly.

i don't remember if it was a published feminist or just a woman on radblr who said it, but a while ago i saw someone point out that misogynistic ideas of womanhood cannot be successfully satirised by portraying an extreme version of them, because there's no point at which men & misogynistic women who see it will be like "yeah that's fucked up, that is an evil way to view women. damn" like there's nothing you can do that's extreme enough and dehumanising enough to make misogynists think "wow we really shouldn't view female people through this lens, good point" because they literally don't consider women to be people. all they'll ever take from such attempts at satire is "yeah, that is an accurate portrayal of what women are/should be" it just bolsters their misogyny
Aaaaaabsolutely.

It’s not about appeasing men, it’s about your actions being done specifically to appease men. we are also not talking about individual men as they do not define what is socially expected of women.
Your decisions are influenced by men when you are making unfeminist actions even when you say you are doing it independently of men.
It’s also not just about modesty or immodesty, but rather practicality. and men like femininity, not just modesty.
Sabrina’s audience is women who seek the male gaze. The album cover being a metaphor doesn’t change that it is a male fantasy that subordinates and dehumanizes women.

??? Many do exist in the wild, in fact that’s what sparked this discourse. Just going on twitter alone you’d see easily over 100k who support liberal and choice feminist ideologies.
It’s not an accusation if that’s what they essentially believe.
I also don’t get what the last part is supposed to mean.

there is also a difference between "it appeals to the male gaze" (which can come across for blaming a woman for a mans actions, especially when men sexualize women for a variety of things) and "doing it for the male gaze" which aligns more closely with radical feminism.

there's probably some choice feminists in the mix, but it's mainly radical feminists who are criticizing sabrina. it's gone as far where choice feminists are praising sabrina for "scaring away the radfems".

child marriage is still legal in 37 US states.
in california a 90 year old can have sex with a 13 year old as long as that child’s parents give them permission to marry first.
it isn’t just the middle east, its right here. its everywhere.

I know certain groups would seethe over me saying this but this is my #safespace I'll just say it. whenever the female socialization is kicking in & I feel really bad about my appearance for some stupid reason I just go to a subreddit where TIMs post pictures of themselves & voila suddenly I'm feeling beautiful. it's like the best cure to body dysmorphia I've ever discovered
