Ok so I have to say, back when Alice Through the Looking Glass was first announced and that Tim Burton wouldn’t be the director this time, I was both glad and a bit worried.

Glad as Tim Burton has honestly lost his touch the past few years. And a bit worried as I figured that just like the Burton Batman series, when Alice was taken by someone new they would both water down the weirdness of his Wonderland and make it just far to over the top. I’m looking at you 50 story tall statues all over Gotham City. What the fuck were those? I mean c’mon.

But damn if these posters and the trailer released today don’t fully expunge my worry. Cause not only does everything look perfectly screwy and weird as all hell, and mad. But also things look even better fitting to the world then last time.

I mean, first point is Anne Hathaway’s White Queen. In the first movie it was pretty clear she was just a bit demented, aka mad, I mean wonderland, so. But this time around, while sticking with the basic look, they actually made her look as demented as she is. I mean the darker eye shadows and more shallow face really work for the character.

And then Alice’s wardrobe. It’s like they were practically taken straight from the American McGee series in ways. Plus, they are all vast improvements over what we got in the last movie. I mean a hatter edited glove thing and that giant dress? Yeah, was all pretty much shit. But this time? Hella awesome.
