       “I hate cold weather....” he buries himself further into his jacket, goodbye world Haruna’s going to hibernate through the winter.

The Meme! Still Accepting!

        The boat sways with the waves making Haruna a bit nauseous, every time it rolled or lurched he felt like he was going to fall and lose it. He had to struggle his way out on deck fighting the urge to go and find a quiet corner to suffer in than put himself through the joys of sailing like the rest of the team he’d gotten on the boat with.

       “I really hate traveling by boat” He moans approaching Reine, the girl he’d gotten acquainted with during their boat ride to Vale. Really anything would have been better than this and honestly he’ll praise every deity in existence when they hit dry land, but this was the only way he could get out of Mistral quickly. The boat lurches and Haruna grabs onto the side feeling his heart drop and his stomach do somersaults. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. Don’t think about it. The sick feeling fades away and he releases his vice grip on the boat’s railing. Only then does he risk looking out over the sea an reveling in the shore fast approaching, until another thought hits him and he feels a little nauseous again.

       “We’re far from home,” Vale’s so close now “and its for the better?” A question, not a statement, he’s unsure if he really wants to hear the answer though as he’s starting to lose confidence again. He’d only gotten on the boat so he could find Teir and Rayne who were somewhere around Vale still and hadn’t been in contact with him since he’d left for Mistral with Mizu. So when he’d caught wind of some students heading back to Vale he’d asked to come with them.

       He clears his throat, “Well I guess I’m the one far from home, huh?” Haruna crosses his arms over his chest and fixes his gaze back on her, “Its been months since I’ve been to Vale, wonder if things are any better now than they were a couple of months ago.”

“Well if that’s the case, that’s more than half the mission dealt with. We’ve got four Hunter-Killers on the ground and a flight of Thunderbird ground support air craft on CAS…not to mention a Harbinger gunship. You give me some map coordinates and those bandits are going to meet Oum in PIECES.”

Well…

“Or…no. No no, thats not personal enough is it? These kinds of people, they only respect strength. Death from above…it wont do, they’ll just come back in the form of another group.”

       Haruna shouldn’t have been surprised at all that they’d called in quite a bit with them. After all he had just said they’d finished up another mission before coming here. Besides that, there was the Battle at Beacon to show just what a few ‘thugs’ could do, though that had been a set of special circumstances and was much different than a bandit problem.

        “Death from above would be satisfying to watch” he replied slowly, “and it might fix our problem for quite a while, but you’re right this far out it wouldn't be long before another group comes to replace this one. They need a clear message that we’re not going to tolerate this anymore and that they won’t be allowed to do what they want anymore.”

        He pauses before adding, “You mean to make an example of them right?”

In my head I keep seeing dumb Haruna hitting himself in the face with his Tonfas like Rapunzel did with her frying pan in Tangled, but then I remember....

He has bladed tonfas.... Ow

“For the hospitality, of course. We heard you guys liked new faces.”

Ha ha. Yeah…real funny.  Ash swallowed the glib comment and instead continued “Actually no, we’re from Atlas. My team and I had a mission in the area we just dealt with and Command forwarded a request from you guys mentioning bandit trouble. We figured we’d come down and see what we can do.”

       “Funny.”

       He almost laughs, almost. Perhaps under other circumstances Haruna might have laughed a lot and even retorted with a sarcastic remark of his own but now wasn’t the time. But he holds it back to keep up appearances until he’s sure no harm will come to the village from him being here. He mentions Atlas and the request from the town and Haruna relaxes a little.

       “Its about time they sent someone” he retorts before clearing his throat and looking apologetic for what he had said, “sorry things are just out of hand around here now. We’ve always had problems with bandits its just gotten a lot worse recently and its not like we could do much about it.” Not surprising really. “There’s not a lot of able bodied men or women around so we can’t make them leave, but we do know where to look for them.”

      “Why are you here?”

       Haruna’s tone may have been more accusatory than he meant it to be, but its not everyday that someone waltzes into their small village combat ready with no intention to terrorize and steal. Yet this is not what he expects from him, no its clear to see he’s no simple brigand, but it only begs the question ‘Is he just passing through or is he here for a reason?’
