Imagine drawing with your fankid and/or child f/o! If they're younger, their pictures may be harder to decipher, but you still make an effort to guess at what they're drawing--and should they correct you, you happily go along with it. If they're older, they may try and hide what they're drawing from you, and only want to show you when it's done, or maybe not share it at all.

Regardless of which category your fankid or child f/o falls into, one thing's for sure ... you're proud of their art no matter what they create.

Imagine your fankid and/or child f/o giving you a homemade Valentine's Day card! Maybe they made it for you at school or daycare, or maybe they spent hours working on it at home, doing everything they could to keep it a secret. Either way, you know it's a card made with nothing but love for you--your fankid(s) and/or child f/o(s) love you so much, so of course they wanted to make something special to give you on Valentine's Day!

Imagine comforting your fankid/child f/o after they wake up from a nightmare.

If they're younger, you do your best to soothe them with gentle words, and hold them oh-so-tight while they cry, stammering out the details of their dream. Perhaps they'll ask to stay with you for the night, if that isn't too much trouble?

If they're older, they'll probably try to hide it, but when you see them in the morning, you'll know something's bothering them. You'll gently remind them that they're loved and safe, and, if they want to talk about their nightmare, you're there to lend an ear and provide them with all the comfort they need.

Imagine watching movies with your fankid and/or child f/o!

It can be any kind of film--action, comedy, romance, horror ... whatever you feel is best for their age and comfort level! Maybe you guys even have a specific comfort movie or a favorite film you watch together, sharing snacks and quoting jokes and lines as they happen, laughing all the while.

For those with a child f/o and/or fankids!!

Imagine helping them learn how to read. Flipping through picture books or board books with them, reading the stories in silly voices that make them giggle, or letting them "read" the story to you, going off the pictures alone! Maybe you guys even have a favorite book that you read every night before bed, or at least five times a week.

Just ... spending time with your kiddo(s), helping them enjoy reading.

Imagine dropping your fankid and/or child f/o off at school!

If they're younger, think about giving them a big, tight hug and a gentle kiss on the forehead, gently reminding them to have a good day and that you love them so, so much. You watch them head off to the playground or their classroom, smiling and waving whenever they spin around to see if you're still there ... until they finally disappear from view.

If they're a bit older, they may try to shake off your hugs and kisses, but you can still provide them with encouragement and reminders that you love them and want them to have a good day. If they have any tests coming up, you remind them that they've got this, and that, no matter what happens, you'll always love them.

And, if your older fankid and/or child f/o takes the bus or drives themselves to school, imagine giving them these reminders before they leave the house, and double checking to make sure they have everything they need for the day ahead. Even if they're starting to become independent, those little check-ins mean the world to them!

I need to sort out my tagging system, but I'm very happy to see so many people here, already ~! Went with Child of the Galaxy for my theme, since he's one of my child f/os I don't get to talk much about, so I'll probably base my tagging system around his cards/abilities!

Welcome to @/child--of-the--galaxy!!

I'm Sarah (She/Her; 22), and I'll be running this blog! My personal self ship blog is @throughpatchesofviolet, but the purpose of this blog will be to create and promote content specifically for fankids and child f/os!

I've noticed there's a lack of content for those of us who have fankids and/or child f/os, and I wanted to do something to remedy that!

Ideally, this blog will be a nice blend of imagines for fankids and child f/os of all ages, from infants and toddlers through late teens--and maybe even young adults, since your kids never stop being your kids (and you'll never stop being their parent), no matter how old they get!

You're free to submit posts of your own, and I also have the inbox open, so you're welcome to gush about your fankids and child f/os, here, if you want! I might gush a bit about my own child f/os and fankids here, too, so know that it's a safe space to do so! Just please avoid mentioning any of your romantic f/os or their source by name--if they're also a parent, instead try to refer to them based on the relationship they have with your fankid/child f/o!

As far as DNI: Proship/Comship and their supporters are absolutely not welcome here--I work with children irl, and the way you behave about fictional kids is deeply uncomfortable to me. Following that, the usual DNI criterita applies--no racists, LGBTQ+ phobes, zionists, or anyone sexist. I will not hesitate to block you.
