I feel like something that is lost on many people in the hunger games fandom is that Mrs Everdeen is not an evil character and Katniss feelings toward her mother are justified are two truths that can co exist

Katniss: idk if I love Peeta but I am disgusted by the suggestion that I would take a lover who is not him. I relate strongly with Finnick because he is grieving his lost love, Annie, the same exact way I am grieving Peeta. I am the man in the hanging tree reincarnated, as I would rather my lover (Peeta) die than face the evil in the world. Peeta is the only person I want to kiss and be held by at night. I will literally kill myself before I live in a world where he doesn't love me. But yeah, I just don't know how anyone knows how they feel about someone :/

a scene from the hunger games that gives me a good chuckle is at the end of the tribute parade when katniss goes to loosen her grasp on peeta’s hand and he tightens his and says “no. don’t let go of me. please. i might fall out of this thing.”

like that’s the most 16-year-old boy way to continue to hold your crush’s hand without telling her you have a crush on her. i absolutely love it.

Katniss and Peeta at the beginning of Catching Fire are a divorced couple trying to remain amicable for the sake of their child (Haymitch), of whom they share joint custody

I don’t know what else to say to convince people that Wafaa’s family is seriously in need of help. For the entire day I’ve dreaded checking the numbers every single hour because many times it would be stagnant or just have €5-10 donations.

Please, Wafaa wouldn’t have raised the goal if she didn’t have to. She feels very apologetic that she is again asking for help to people who have helped her so much. But her children were in danger. And she had to act quickly.

Please don’t punish her decision to save her daughters and grandchildren (the oldest of whom just turned five this year during the occupation, the youngest who was BORN in a hospital that the iof targeted just six months ago).

Wafaa’s health has declined dramatically just today because of the news she got from her family this morning, she said she could barely get out of bed this morning because of lack of sleep and long term built up stress.

i mean yeah I Guess you can say that katniss and haymitch have a feral child/adopted father dynamic. but like, if you think that you have to also see how fucked up it is. they have a parental dynamic in a lestat-claudia sense not in a joel-ellie sense. i need more people to understand this

Wish we got more of Peeta’s dark humor bc while we got some, I want more

one of the most impactful exchange of dialogue in mockingjay was the lunch table scene. starting with johanna inviting peeta to sit next to her. since they were well acquainted with eachother’s screams.

that was one of the first pieces of dialogue in the scene. dialogue that was quickly followed by katniss and peeta bickering back and forth. openly expressing disdain for each other. back to the grind of being enemies again.

and then katniss goes to her room and daydreams about the nights on the train. until she is distracted.

and at the end of the night, after everything, she finally asks johanna. asks her what has been tearing at her heart since lunch.

johanna, could you really hear him screaming?

because no matter how much she pretended she hated him, she just… couldn’t. she could pretend that he was dead to her but she could ignore it. his scream. her precious peeta’s screams.

there to haunt katniss. every. waking. moment.

haunting her until she isn’t quite sure she isn’t screaming as well.

Annie Cresta, anyone??

I love how Suzanne makes Katniss tending to Peeta's wounds gross and disgusting and overwhelming for her instead of some gateway into rippling abs with a minor flesh wound she wraps up to explore a surface-level physical attraction to him. Peeta has lost weight, is covered in mud, has swollen flesh around stingers, has a fever, and is oozing pus. It was never going to be sexy because the Games are not sexy. The progress in their relationship comes from their teamwork and compatibility first and the physical attraction is a slow build in response to the emotional connection.

I see a lot of people talk about Finnick surviving the mutt attack but I don't see a lot of people talking about Finnick SURVIVING the MUTT ATTACK
