I always love the edits of the foxes and gangsey tweets because as someone that has been on kpop Twitter for a loooong time I can immediately recognize the tweets and know what the original was about.
Re-reading the raven boys and noticing how much the information we get explicitely from gansey is directly condtradicted by exposition of Adam's interactions with ronan. Gansey goes on and on about how Adam is so careful by bringing a rag to protect his pants from oil, but then we learn about the moving dolly and him and ronan being covered in scabs, which sounds like a totally different person than the serious careful person gansey is describing.
And Adam’s own narrative emphasizes that he is forced to deal with Ganseys friend Ronan, and doesn’t imply at all that he and Ronan have a rich relationship outside of their friendship with Gansey.
So much of what Adam wants to be and how he presents himself isn’t the whole story. He’s a liar even to himself, but Ronan sees all of him.
I was trying to explain something about aftg to my work bestie and she goes "wait is this the book with the magical cave?" And then I had to explain that on EOD the raven cycle books shares a title with one of the aftg books and she was like "you've been talking about two separate book series this entire time???" So if you've ever wondered if talking about both of these books with someone that hasn't read any of them would confuse them there's your answer.
Oh I had never seen that but that makes me a little sick so thanks 🙏🏼
Whenever I see raven!au fanart I always see Andrew labeled #5 and figured that would make sense with the whole perfect court thing because we only know 4 confirmed members. But Don't exy teams only have six players on court at any given time?? I always assumed the perfect court was the six players in the starting line up for the US team.
Edit: found the tweet, what a horrifying concept but also I just read tsc and I'm unclear on how Jean was there before Neil because Neil would have been given to the moriyama's at 10 and Jean wasn't sold to them until he was either 12 or 14 (I don't remember) and Neil and him are the same age so ???
So is the raven!au theory for why Andrew ends up being #5 that Nathaniel was interesting enough to get Andrew's attention and join the ravens in spite of his reservations about Kevin accepting being second?
Is there a consensus on this? I figured if a pretty face were enough to get Andrew to join the ravens he would have said yes to Kevin the first time so it must be something else right??
I can't stop laughing because I just read chapter 7 of the kings men and every time one of the foxes refers to their team as "the foxes" or like "we wouldn't be foxes if we got what we deserve" and then Aaron and Neil get in a fight and a different sports team steps in to prevent Aaron from killing Neil and it just reminded me of how Normal the Trojans are so while the foxes are internally like "all foxes are a mess and have problems" the other sports teams that are also foxes are like "god the fucking exy team is a mess"
my favorite trope is getting to know strange and unhinged characters in a new story and thinking ok, that is how the people in this world operate, got it. suspension of disbelief: activated
then much later a different set of characters is introduced that is absurdly normal and well-adjusted and you realize those first guys are just freaks
i know we all know neil’s narration is insanely unreliable but leaving out the part when he takes jean to fox tower before the final game is Up There in the top 5 crazy things he’s failed to mention. like brother… jean freaks out and loses his fucking mind over kevin’s queen tattoo and u don’t think that’s worth even a passing mention????? be real
