Mikhail was left speechless. This woman just... accepted him as part of her family and marriage? She barely even met him yet, let alone live with him! But then again, if someone out there is capable enough of not only marrying, but also holding a marriage with Dr. Ludwig, then that someone must be just as crazy as the German man himself, Misha supposed.
Looking towards their wall, it hung several pictures. One of a younger Ludwig in his graduation, who stood proudly with a big smile. Another was of the Ludwigs' wedding day. It is noticable that Ilsa has changed too ever since that photo. Although she remains the same in charm, the ex-nurse has experienced the effects of menopause and the passage of time. Her fair skin has taken the presence of a drier touch, small grey hairstrands on her short, flowly cut. A weight gain is also noticable, specially around her chest, arms and hips areas, giving definiton to her curves. Either way, Ilsa certainly looks tender, huggable.
"Mhm..." Mikhail sniffed the aroma. "Food smells nice."
"Thank you, Misha! I'm making latkes with lamb! I'm sure in just a few minutes we'll be able to dig in." Ilsa replied.
"Our dear Ilsa certainly knows her ways to a man's heart and his stomach as vell." Ludwig chuckles. "Sit down, please, Liebling. While ve're here, vhy don't you introduce jourself more to Ilsa?"
Misha sat between the married couple, his eyes darting from one to the other.
"Well...Misha was born in a hometown in Russia, but fled to the Dzhugdzhur Mountains of Siberia after escaping the Gulag. I have my mother and three younger sisters. Part of why I came to the USA was to be able to provide for them, understand? And, I also met Doktor in the middle of it all..."
Misha's hands intertwined with Ludwig's.
"Wow, I-- I'm sorry for everything that has happened to you and your family, Misha...May I hug you?"
Before Mikhail could respond, he felt the small woman's arms wrapping around his large frame as Ludwig kissed Misha's cheek, close to his lips. Oh? What's that? It's a small blush coloring the Russian's cheeks.
Ding!
"Oh! It's ready!" Ilsa pulled away, she broke into a smile and rushed to the kitchen, her curvy body bending over in front of the oven to reach out and take the steaming cut of lamb with oven mittens.
"Good thing the table is set." Ludwig chimed. The table was aligned with a certain precision, cutlery set along with the plates and napkins.
Soon enough, the three were sat down, enjoying the delicious meal.
"Ooh...Is good. Ilsa has talent for food." Misha happily took another bite.
"Ja, I couldn't agree more. Although, I have to say, Ilsa has come a long way with her cooking. Back then, she used to burn the latkes rather than frying them!" The Doctor laughed as his wife let out a grumpy murmur.
"Mein Gotten, Ludwig! Not in front of our guest!" The German-american woman slapped his shoulder lightly.
"Ah-ah, Mein Schatz. Mikhail is no guest. He's family, as you said so before." Ludwig bopped her cheek.
"He's right. I'm sorry, Misha. It's just Ludwig thinks he can just say and do whatever he wants sometimes." Ilsa apologized.
"I agree with that. Doktor can be...how do you say? 'Wild card' sometimes. Specially at work."
Misha and Ilsa looked at the man himself.
"Vell? I guess I have no defense, ja? But it still seemed to interest jou two enough."
The German said in a joking tone as he lifted his hands, as if defending himself as he gave a small wink.

Paper sketch of the cover art! I just digitized the lineart and colored it in.

Bonus: Art of Medic/Ludwig with his wife. Idk if it's noticable but this was made was an unfinished doodle in 2022. Back then, I didn't have a name or a proper personality for her(besides being 'the wife) Her design didn't change much, I think.

Medic x Heavy x Medic's wife - TF2
Tumblr media
Hii! This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. In case you don't know Demoman has a taunt line against a Medic which is 'I've been shaggin' yet wife!'. And to many people, it seems like Medic can't have a wife AND also date Heavy. Like, do you know what a throuple is?? Anyway, this is based off my bot I made on janitor.ai(https://janitorai.com/characters/2d15ab13-d96c-4a98-89b4-3ca671125245_character-heavy-and-medic-tf-2) (btw I don't use Tumblr often and this is my first ever fanfic, and the cover art was also made by me!)

Tick tock, tick tock, the clock seems to want to be an antagonizing force against Ludwig's mind. Today is the day. The day where Ludwig invited Mikhail, to meet his lovely wife, Ilsa.
Ilsa Ludwig is a retired nurse, one with a creative mind and talented hands. Ilsa met her current husband when she was assigned to him as an assistant back at an old clinic. Did she agree with every moral opinion the doctor had on medicine? Absolutely not. But, Dr. Ludwig was, and still is, a handsome devil with a silver tongue. Time went, time came, Ludwig and Ilsa have a serious arrangement.
They could see anyone else, as long as they both knew.
For the most part, neither of them really took advantage of this rule, until Ludwig became a mercenary and met the infamous Russian powerhouse of a man, Mikhail. Best known as 'Misha'.
The Doctor is confident in his sexuality, something not so often in 60's. Although he feels a closer connection to men, Ludwig still happily married a woman. The same applied to Misha, who felt a heavier homoaffection but also attraction to the fairer sex. Perhaps that's why they got along so well? Over the months, Ludwig made sure to tell Ilsa, who's now a home caretaker, everything about his handsome colleague.
"Jou von't believe this, Liebling. Mikhail simply lifted that whole box of supplies all by himself!"
Ludwig told as covered Ilsa and himself with the sheets. She looked pretty cute, but then again, when did she didn't?
Ilsa giggled, her curvy body molding against the warm sheets, the ex-nurse reached out to touch her husband's hand.
"Perhaps you should just bring Mikhail to dinner already, dear! He sounds like a dream."
The german-american woman said as bopped Ludwig's nose in a tender manner.
"Oh, I vill, I vill. I just need to ask Misha vhen he'll have a day off."
Said Ludwig with a smile as he tucked his glasses by the nightstand.
About a month and a half later, here they were. Ludwig looked in the mirror to see if he looked presentable, while Ilsa checked the food on the oven.
Ring-ding-dong!!
The German man opened the door, to marvel at the almost 7 feet tall man, Mikhail, of course.
"Aah! Misha!! Hallo! Come in, come in! Ve've been vaiting for jou!"
Misha stepped quietly into the apartment, his comically tall size almost reaching the top of the doorframe.
"Privet, Ludwig. I--Misha is happy to be here too."
The larger man's words came thick with an accent. In his big hands, he held a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of vodka as presents.
Suddenly, Ilsa turned on her heel, a grin spreading across her face as she saw him.
"Oh! Mikhail, it's so good to finally meet you!"
She immediately embraced the Russian, who felt out of place yet so welcomed.
"Please, call me 'Misha', and...Are you not mad, Mrs. Ludwig? Are you not angry that your husband cheats on you with me?"
Misha frowned, but he heard two laughs.
"Oh, oh, Nein, Nein, Schatz. It's not like that!"
Ludwig reassured, kissing Misha's lips, which seemed to calm the larger man.
"Yes, Misha, our Ludwig is right. No one is cheating or being cheated on. We... we're gonna be like a family now, right? That means we love and respect each other."
Ilsa said with a hint of romanticism, a trait her husband is used to.
For a second, Misha could feel the smiles radiating off Ludwig and Ilsa's faces. Perhaps, this is what love feels like. A triangle, their perfect shape.
