not only is homestuck queer and transfeminine, but it's also very aro/poly. it cooonstatnly makes fun at traditional notions of romance including the ones it makes up. "the only thing in marriage that matters isn't love, but that signature on the paper and who dominates who in the home" while the flushed quadrant seems different or even more shallow than patriarchal human romance, if you look at it from a slightly different angle, it's expressed as the same thing.
flushed romance is when you mash your dna with another person and make babies; pale romance is when a lower ranking individual suggests a higher ranking person to consider things/ do all the physical and emotional labor and inevitably becomes the scapegoat; pitch romance is when you keep others (presumably weaker than yourself) trapped in the system like crabs in a bucket; ashen romance is when a higher ranking person pits the world of those two into only each other until the most favored one comes out of it the winner.
troll romance isn't particularly "romantic" but getting the state to bind a man and wife to each other with yellow rings isn't really either
