I'm still in the process of reading The Power of Now, it's slow because I'm trying to really absorb the text than just read it. I think on deeper level I understand, but my mind creates resistance sometimes and says what is this hooplah, mumbo-jumbo

I know exactly what you mean. 

Reading The Power of Now for the first, second, and third time was difficult. I couldn’t fully wrap my mind around many of the things he said. Mostly because he was describing things I hadn’t yet experienced. 

But by wrestling with the book and putting it into practice, you begin to experience what it means. Then you get what certain words are indicating. This helps you see more into what is being said. And so you spend time continually reading and rereading the book with new eyes. 

On a deeper level you do understand, which is why you recognize there is significance and truth to these teachings. 

Don’t get too hung up on the words, strive to experience for yourself. That is the way of the scientist and the mystic.
