we need to all combine forces and fight the real enemy: the people who keep claiming there's a massive age gap with ravenbarley
#besides the canon-breaking cameo in Yellowfang's Secret#and people misremembering Barley's first scene and thinking Bluestar called him her old friend (she didn't)#i genuinely believe this is another instance of the Apprentice Effect where characters with the -paw suffix are forever seen as little kids#Swiftpaw is another instance of this where he's outright stated in the text to be an adult at his death because his warrior ceremony#was delayed for so long#but he's still portrayed as practically a kitten in fanworks#Ravenpaw gets that tenfold despite Ravenpaw's Farewell going OLD MAN HE'S AN OLD MAN OLD HAG OVER HERE every other page#reblog#text

I do think for all Warriors' flaws (of which there are a LOT) some props should be given for how genuine and sincere RavenBarley as a love story was at the end of the day, even if they weren't allowed to outright call it a love story until now. I know for me growing up Ravenpaw's Path and Ravenpaw's Farewell were very important in ways I didn't fully understand
I'm back for Ravenpaw and Barley's wedding. Congratulations to gay people

i do think fallenholly is conceptually good it's just the execution of it that falls flat. fallen leaves being a stranger to hollyleaf but familiar to the audience and the unexpected intersection of their stories is interesting. fallen leaves being abandoned by the world and alone for decades while hollyleaf is actively choosing to isolate herself so she doesn't have to confront the evil she committed is interesting. their relationship development taking place divorced from a clan setting is interesting. the exploration of an afterlife much different from what is usually seen in the clans, and how this symbolically ties in with hollyleaf being "dead to the world," is interesting. the reader being aware of what fallen leaves is not but not hollyleaf herself is interesting. the romantic portion of their relationship beginning posthumously for both characters is interesting. the character growth signified by hollyleaf willingly choosing to involve herself with someone not belonging to the clans, even potentially spending time outside starclan to do so, something her older self in her stringent adherence to societal norms definitely never would have done, is interesting! there are genuinely a lot of fresh and inventive components that a lot of other beloved m/f pairings are lacking, it's just that none of them end up being utilized to their full potential in lieu of fallen leaves being hollyleaf's kind and understanding therapist bf who is only there to help her move on from her own crisis
#the potential is THERE and it's so INTERESTING it makes me want to chew rocks#fallenholly#also sorry i just like when WC skews more towards fantasy weirdness. like a girl dating a ghost. it's fun#reblog

The most frightening part about Starlingpaw being the Designated Sad Boy Protagonist isn't the possibility of Robinpaw and Needleclaw getting the Antagonistic-Sister-and-Mother treatment. It's not even just the possibility that he and Moonpaw will be a romance.
It's that those things will all come together into Rootspring being a major character again as the only relative Starlingpaw likes and connects with
#text#he's his uncle and had a forbidden romance. if starlingpaw has a forbidden romance............yeah.

spin this wheel for a prefix, and then spin this wheel for a suffix
as a bonus you can spin this wheel to find ur role in the clan (note: spin twice if you get apprentice)
#lightfeather! and then lightstar#i like it. i'm like a Code of the Clans-exclusive character that everyone would call underrated

The main reason I’m not optimistic about the “oh Tawnypelt and Crowfeather won’t get together, Tawnypelt’s just lonely and Crowfeather won’t feel the same” ending is because we all thought Nightheart and Sunbeam would break up and look how that turned out

"don't you want tawnypelt to be happy uwu" anyone who can be genuinely happy married to crowfeather doesn't deserve to be happy
