The Snow is Gone. Time to Play.
Top 5 things to do this week:
1. National Hugging Day: Give a Hug 2. The Quiet Shop/Silence Room 3. Tim Walker/Manet: Portraying Life 4. Barre at the Bar 5. Django Unchained/Les Miserables
Tumblr media
It’s no surprise that you’ve probably spent much of your planned-to-be-ambitious weekend snowed in and sipping several hot cups of coco whilst curled up under blankets. The weekend’s usual tendency to win the race came to a halt, as like the rabbit, its wildly thought adventures failed. We’ve hit the January blues, that space of time between Christmas and Valentine’s, known to be the most miserable of all. But we’ve come to the rescue with some remedies to wipe away that frown, and surely turn it upside down.
Strip away that physical contact fear, and trigger those smile muscles, as National Hugging Day (January 21st) comes into play. Be prepared for a stampede of glittery hugging people or be part of it yourself. But if your hugging willingness exceeds your reluctance then Hugless Douglas can be found at various locations in London.
Tumblr media
We understand at the end of the day you may not fancy being flustered with a bunch of pouncing sparkly people. So, we suggest you try out The Quiet Shop and Silence Room at Selfridges - a previous concept delivered by Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909. The world is becoming a noisier place, so let’s get some Headspace. The snow may have been pretty at first, but now it can’t help but feel a tad daunting. Could there be the need for visual stimulation again? If so, it’s worth taking advantage of the last few days of Tim Walker’s exhibition at the Somerset House. Alternatively, take a few strokes towards Impressionism, with Manet’s ‘Portraying Life’ series at the Royal Academy. On the other hand, London has succumbed to leveraging its state of difference. Step out of your comfort zone, as Kensal Green’s Paradise pub offers ‘A Class and a Glass’ a.k.a. Barre at the Bar. Of course, the idea of dancing and gulping down a glass is nothing new, but the thought of the refined ballet twiddling in this concoction can only swing a grin of amusement across one’s face.
Tumblr media
Last but not least, if you’re looking to become more culturally fluent without the effort, end your week with a trip to the cinema. The fuss over Les Miserables and Django Unchained could not be mistaken.

Despite trying to avoid being noticed as she made her way to Atlanta for her new reality show, Frankie couldn’t resist getting snapped up as she paraded around in this stylish outfit. She kept it simple with skinny jeans and a t-shirt, but nicely added some character with her grey fedora and wedge boots. She couldn’t give off a more cosy look with that trench coat.

Steal Cher Lloyd's Look
Tumblr media
19 year old Cher was spotted taking time out of her busy schedule to attend the Billboard Women in Music Awards in NYC. Before appearing on stage to perform a cover of Katy Perry's single 'E.P.' she made an appearance in front of the cameras as stylish and groomed as ever. You couldn't miss her with those bright red jeans and the height those lace-up boots gave her. Nonetheless, she managed to pull off that rock look of hers by adding a biker jacket and skull covered scarf.
To get this look at prices that won't make you cry, I've put the outfit together for you at high street prices. All the items are on Style Nibble - don't forget to sign up for a wonderful weekend of shopping and style advice! Chloe x
1. Biker Jacket, Mango, £64.99
2. Shoestring Vest, New Look, £2.49
3. Red Skinny Jeans, Jane Norman, £25
4. Lace-up Boots, Ralph Lauren, £200

Rent a Designer Dress for the Christmas Party!
Tumblr media
As a treat for a Friday we have asked Anna Bance, the founder of Girl Meets Dress to pick her top dress choices. We’ve been admirers of Girl Meets Dress for a long time now - we only wish that we’d had the idea. If you haven’t heard of it already the site allows you to rent designer dresses at a fraction of the retail cost, in fact dresses start from as little as £29 and include brands such as Alexander McQueen, Temperley, Dina Bar El, Alice and Olivia and Herve Leger. I would never in a million years have thought I could be wearing a Marchesa Notte dress to the office Christmas party! We love the fact that you can order more than one dress to try on different sizes, PLUS Girl Meets Dress takes care of the returns (pre-paid label included) and even the dry cleaning.
Log into your Style Nibble boutique to see the selection of dresses that Anna has picked for you. We also have a fab competition - the best photo of a Style Nibble user wearing their GMD dress will have the rental fee refunded! Simply email a photo of yourself in your GMD dress to [email protected] to enter.
