For my final art project, I drew inspiration from the phrase “April showers bring May flowers.” I’ve always loved watching the colors shift and flowers bloom, especially along the streets of Allegany in spring. My piece is a landscape filled with blossoming flowers under a partly sunny sky, where a few raindrops are falling from the passing clouds.
One of the main influences on my work was Fauvism, a movement known for its use of bold and vibrant colors. I aimed to reflect that in my own piece by using bright, cheerful hues that capture the energy of spring. Another influence was Impressionism. From that lesson, I learned that Impressionist art captures a moment full of life and movement rather than something frozen in time. While it can be challenging to show motion in a still painting, I tried to express the growth and movement of the flowers and clouds in my scene. Overall, I really enjoyed creating this piece and appreciated all the art assignments throughout the semester!

This is Embassy! He is made out of a towel I looked up a video how to fold this towel, with mascara, a bag, a cup lid. He was made at Embassy Suites as my team is here for A10s and this created his name! So fun!

I LOVE this bag!!! I would so use this on a fun night out. Such a fun idea you created here! Shows you can make anything out of garbage 😝
Surrealism Assignment

I’d like to call this piece the “Weekender Bag”.
I decided to create a purse out of trash around my house. My base started with a Walmart bag to hold the structure of the purse. I then cut up an old loofa to wrap around the straps of the purse, then using boxes of pasta noodles, seltzer/wine boxes, pink basket stuffer string and an old st.patricks day necklace as a charm for the bag.
It is a highly functional and spacious bag that I recommend for your next night out!

For this weeks project I made a necklace. This was made out of a cardboard box as the pendent, an avocado bag around the beads and a ribbon. The leaves are from a fake plant I found as pieces on the side. This was a fun week!

For the futurism project, I drew the Hyperloop. It is a proposed transportation system where pods move at 600+ mph in low-pressure tubes. It is futuristic because it could cut travel time drastically. Imagine NYC to DC in 30 minutes… yes please. I think this could really be so cool and I would love for this to be a thing!

I decided to draw my friend Fiona. I chose many different bright colors and neon. I did those colors because she has a bright soul and is shining always. The neon colors represent her energy and spark in life. The pattern colors represent her passion and grind and always gets through any obstacles.

Assignment 5: Impressionism
For this assignment, I chose to draw one of my teammates, Dhav. Dhav is a freshman diver on the women’s swimming and diving team, and has made a great impact on the team in just a short time. She joined us in December, and started competing for the second semester. In just a few meets, she broke our school records on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, and qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships on both boards as well.
The picture that I drew is of Dhav competing on 1-meter at the Atlantic 10 Championships back in February. In prelims, she finished in the top 8 of 40 divers, so she got to dive in the “A” final at night. Typically, with A10s, I would be swimming at night so I never really got the opportunity to watch our divers in finals. However, that night the meet got rearranged to where Dhav’s final started after I finished swimming, so I was able to watch. It was so fun getting to watch her dive, and I remember the suspension we would feel every time she would dive, straight into excitement once she would finish a dive and her score would go up on the board. At the end of the night, Dhav finished second in the event and got to take home her first A10 medal, which in itself was so exciting. I was so proud of her for what she accomplished, and cannot wait to see how she continues to thrive in the future.

This is the most famous catch of modern football history by OBJ on the Giants and I think it deserves recognition of Impressionism. This shows the true natural talent of these athletes and their one of kind abilities to perform these acts. I will never forget this because this is the catch that got me truly into watching the game.

I chose Josh Allen jumping over Cunningham because every time Josh jumps over defenders it’s always iconic. Josh shows what it’s like to love the game and do anything you can do to win. Including jumping over people.
I always enjoy watching these moments of Josh jumping and leaping to get touchdowns. His grit and love for the game is something he shows in his playing. I enjoy watching the Bills games just to see moments like these.

I chose this picture of Khloe Kardashian because you can clearly see her hand is super stretched and edited. I chose this because she is very famous and a big influencer. To create this I used markers and colored pencils. The background is a fence look. It was hard to draw her face and dress but I think it worked out well.
This shows things on social media are not how it’s seen in real life.

For this weeks art project, I combined two art photos that are down below to create this one. I took some animals idea from one and a nature background from both and combined for a “backyard” country theme. I have a fence with flowers and trees. I have some animals as well. They art works both inspired me to create this with the themes.

I decided to reblog yours because the recreation is really well done and I can see exactly what you were picturing. I think you did a great job adding your own pieces of it like the animal.

One of my favorite songs of all time is Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson. All the inspiration I needed to create my art actually came from listening to the song. I really dissected the lyrics and can visualize what is happening throughout the 3+ minute song. I see it as warm, laidback, and colorful. That is the main reason why I took this album cover and made it colorful. I really think it is a unique album cover, but what album cover isn't improved by a splash of color, and an orangutan!

I decided to reblog yours because I think the way you recreated this to be your own is very original and fun. I also enjoyed your story behind doing this piece!

Assignment 1: for this assignment I chose Zach Bryan’s album, The Great American Bar Scene. What I like about this album cover is that it’s filled with people who are enjoying each others company and smiling :) I chose to replicate this album as my own because this album came out mid-summer, when I was in Charlotte for the summer playing for a semi-pro soccer team. My friend Ava and I had this album on repeat when it came out, so now whenever I listen to it I am reminded of the many memories I made over the summer. To make it my own, I chose to draw 4 pictures from my summer that the songs reminded me of: my summer team, my family on vacation, my friend Ava, and Jesus😊 my favorite song from the album is “The Way Back”, and I added my favorite lyrics from that song onto my piece.

For this week, I chose the complimentary colors of red and green. I decided to go along with a “theme” of Christmas. The head is a reindeer because of Christmas. The body represents Santa as it is mainly red with black bottoms. I chose spoons as the hands and feet because Christmas time reminds me of gathering with family and eating family dinner together. I enjoyed this art project for the week and am excited for next weeks!
