It's an April Fool's post. However!

While writing out the description I felt sad that this was not a real thing and I decided that I wanted to bring the joke full circle.

So now I'm on the lookout for OC Artists, novel Writers, Vtubers, character creators, Adoptable Artists, anyone willing to talk 30 to 45 minutes about their special little people!

First: What is a "Blorbo"?

Online, a "Blorbo" is described as a fictional character or celebrity that someone is particularly attached to. In most cases, people use the term to refer specifically to their Original Characters (OCs).

Second: What is an "Original Character (OC)"?

An OC is a self-created character, either within an existing world—fictional or historical—or in a completely original setting. Examples include personal Pokémon trainers, Dungeons & Dragons characters, or even the Traveling Beastmasters!

Third: What is the Blorbo Box Podcast about?

A common frustration among OC artists is that, given the chance, they would talk endlessly about their characters. However, they often struggle to find an audience that is interested—most people online care only about the related games, comics, or highly detailed artwork.

This podcast provides a platform for creators to share their Blorbos with the world, discuss the inspirations behind their characters, and explore all the details they can't always include in their usual work. Additionally, the podcast will feature workshops on topics like character design, world-building, writing styles, and more!

A wise financial decision indeed

Please don't use 'gay panic' that way.

A timely reminder to all younger (and non American) writers out there who didn’t live through it that 'Gay Panic' does not mean your hapless gay/bi/pan blorbo is all a flustered and bad at flirting.

It was a legal defense for beating a gay person, sometimes to death, because the perpetrator thought they were being flirted with and that, somehow, sent them into a homicidal panic. It is a horrible horrible part of queer history. And it wasn't that long ago.

So when you tag your fic 'Gay Panic', it does not mean "here is my cute fandom child being a mess", it means this fic has homophobia and possibly someone dying from it. So if that's not what your fic contains, it's not the tag that should be used.

It's okay if you don't know the history! But here's your notice. I wish we could pretend that the phrase is something that could be reclaimed, but we can't. We especially can't with the current attacks on transpeople in the US and UK where we are seeing the term and ethos behind the term coming back.

Vollema is a hand-drawn, color-changing RPG about suffering and sports featuring a unique pattern memorization-based combat system.

It's got it all, it's got gameplay, it's got a story, it's got some knights for some reason, and all this ties into college volleyball somehow.

It makes sense in context, and you can find the context on March 21 on Itch.io and Steam!
