grapefruit mignonette: chef max and server/architect student charles meet and fall in love at a high end restaurant. (this fic 😮‍💨 i still think about it every time i go to a high class restaurant.)

give me that fire: ex-fiancés, max and charles, start to work together again after charles is hired as max’s new sous chef. (this one will rip your heart out and stomp all over it. 💔 it’s gorgeous.)

I’ve been meaning to get into Carpe Noctem but sadly haven’t found the time yet. So here’s my ask, what’s your favourite parts about the fic? 👀

I love everything about this fic 🤍

my favorite thing is probably the author’s portrayal of max- he’s so intriguing and complicated, and it’s fascinating to read about his obsessive spiral over charles. and, i mean, boxer max is always a huge plus.

the other thing i love is the dynamics between all of the supporting characters. despite the darker aspects of the fic there are so many light-hearted, fun moments. it reminds me of a coming-of-age movie like the dead poet’s society.

finally, the slow burn is just exquisitely done. i am NOT usually one for slow burn but this fic has turned me feral over fingers brushing together.

i hope you find time to read this masterpiece soon ❤️

the more i think about this the more obsessed i am. like… imagine max just repeatedly showing up for lap dances and private rooms so he can get close to charles, to feel his body again, to talk to him, begging for him to take him back…

and charles was so angry at him for leaving him behind and he promised himself he was done with max’s violent world but he’s just missed him so much, it’s so hard to resist and max is promising him all these things and he always made him feel so good…
