(A few weeks late but...) can't believe Ive been running this silly little choices account for 5 years. I have returned to playing choices on an almost daily basis and really need to get back to posting on here more now too! Thank you to everyone who recommended books on my last post too!

Hello and welcome to my choices sideblog! (A Pinned Post)

I'm Amelia and this is my choices sideblog! Its been 5 years since I started playing choices in 2019 and 5 years since I started this sideblog! I've never had an intro/pinned post on here but Ive always wanted to make one - so here it is!

Opening the Choices app for the first time in months and why does every book cover look like

It has been so long since I've actually been on the choices app and involved in the fandom that all the new books is slightly overwhelming! Anyone (especially if you were around during the choices golden age in 2019!) have any recs?

Feel free to ramble about your favourite choices books in the reblogs and comments!

Hoping to get back into the app with some replays (as I say once a year atp lmao) but I am also interested this time in reading some of the newer stuff! Execpt theres so much new that I dont know about and knowing that the app has gone slightly downhill since I was last properly active here I have no clue where to start!

Im a big lover of the elementalists and also loved desire and decorum, the royal romance (never finished heir), it lives in the woods/beneath, open heart, love hacks and rules of engagement.

(Edit to add that I love veil of secrets too! Can't believe I forgot to add it to my original list!)

I also enjoyed bloodbound but I still havent read past book 2. I was interested in reading perfect match and ride or die before I stopped playing the game as much!

Im really hoping that this post reaches some people, I would really love to get some book recs and also to reconnect with this community!

Choices books I want to (re)read!

The books I want to reread or read in my return to choices (and why)!

Bloodbound (all 3 + holiday)

A reread of books 1 & 2 and a new read for books 3 and the holiday book! This wasn't my favourite series but I did enjoy it first time round so fingers crossed I enjoy the reread and books 3 and the holiday book! I don't have the highest hopes but I'm still going to read them just to see how things ended!

Desire and Decorum (all 3 + holiday)

A reread! Loved this series so much it has such a special place in my heart so I can't wait to reread it all again!

The elementalists (both + holiday)

Another reread! As with d&d, this series hold such a special place in my heart - I just love it! Can't wait to see my moody sister again and stress out about the quick choices in the fights! I never hit finish on book 2 after I read the final chapter back in August 2019 so I'm finally going to do that and reread it.

It lives (both)

A third reread! These were the last two books I read before I got really busy and just lost interest in the app and as much as I liked them, I read them over the course of a month/ month and a half so I really want to read them closer together over a shorter amount of time and just really enjoy the stories!

Mother of the year

I read the first few chapters of this one but never finished it (I think it was still releasing when I was reading it??) so I really want to go back and actually finish this one.

Open heart (all 3)

A partial reread, a partial new read. I wasn't open hearts biggest fan - I'm not a huge fan of hospital stories anyway and Ethan puts me off reading this a little as someone who was romancing Bryce but I really want to see this one through and reread books 1 & 2 and read book 3 for the first time.

Perfect match (both)

I was going to read these after it lives beneath but never got around to it so I want to finally get around to reading these!

Ride or die

I wasn't really interested in reading this as it was being released and tbh I'm sceptical that I'm actually going to like this one but I'm willing to give it a try!

The royal masquerade

Again, I did want to read this a few years ago but never got around to it so excited to finally do read it!

The royal romance/heir (all)

Oh my god how are there so many of these now! I orignally wanted to play the royal heir through with all lis (I did this with books 2 and 3 of trr) but that might actually take me forever so I'm going to focus on replaying with one (potentially Maxwell) and then work on playing through with all of them later on. We'll see!

This list ended up being a lot longer than I thought and it's mostly older books/ rereads but that's what I want to get to first! I will read some of the newer stuff too eventually but that's not what I'm looking forward to so I'm not doing that yet. I will be posting more specifics on these books (which li I choose, thoughts etc) as I read them!

Lol cant believe I was planning a return to this account and then just... disappeared again. But here I am this time soft launching this account again because I just spent half an hour in the beckett tag and I'm remembering how much I miss regularly being on that silly little app again. Maybe I'll actually come back this time?? Maybe I'll continue saying that one day I'll go back to playing choices while not actually touching the app?? Who knows but I think I might try and play at least one chapter a day to get back into things! Its been over 4 years since I made this account and I really do miss posting here and playing choices so maybe it'll actually stick this time. I'm hopeful at least. Anyway this is rambly and probably doesnt make any sense but lets see if I can actually stick with this! Hopefully see you soon and not next year!

A return??? Maybe idk

I havent been active on this blog for years at this point because I havent actually played choices consistently for those same years. Ive dipped my toe back in a couple of times and considered returning here as well but the interest in choices eventually fizzled out because I was busy with other things (mainly finishing my childcare course at college) and so would my interest in returning to posting on here. But now I finally finished my course in June and although I'll be starting work soon I have a lot of free time and I've rediscovered my love for reading which in turn has made me want to return to choices! I'm very well aware of how downhill the app has gone since my original interest in it in 2019 but there are books and series that I -

1. Wanted to read but never got round to

2. Was reading but never finished

Or 3. Want to reread

On there and I really want to see if I can get back into choices again! I'm hoping that by posting on here I can keep myself motivated to keep going with choices although I may also incorporate my normal book posts (that will all be posted to my instagram first - goblinamelia) to fill in any gaps! We shall see where this goes - if you want to follow along then please do! I'll have a post up soon with books I want to read for the first time, reread etc. I'm actually feeling really excited about coming back now that I've typed this!

I see y’all have already tore @playchoices and Pixelberry a new asshole for their post and said mostly everything that needed to be said, but I’ll also add on:

• Hire more black writers, artists, editors, coders, etc. There’s way too much black talent in the Bay Area going unnoticed

• Call our your tone deaf (at best) and racist (at worst) fans when you see them acting a plum fool on social media, because we know you see it (the ignorant comments are literally under their FB post as I’m typing this out)

• Stop partaking in tokenism, and actually give the black characters meaningful storylines.

• Tailor your dialogue to actually fit black MCs and customizable black LIs. This one size fits all dialogue is a mess

• Keep this same energy a month from now, a year from now, two years from now when the hashtags are no longer trending 24/7

And @playchoices the very, very least you guys could’ve done with your huge platform is link a petition or two
