He had to admit, he was pretty impressed given that there were still a few things that scared even him.

"Once we rest up, we can get an early start tomorrow when we'll be feeling refreshed," He too gathered up a few sticks, piling them along with hers - as he rubbed his arms to try and warm himself, he looked over at her with a surprised smile. "Oh, thank you - that's very kind of you."

"Wow, so it sounds like the two of you have a very special bond," He smiled, now following behind her. "Since it's getting close to sunset, did you want to stop and rest up, somewhere? We can look in the morning instead," In his experience, it was dangerous to forage at night, especially if there were wild animals around.

"I'm the same as you - I like them, but I try not to have too many. Do you have a favourite one, though? Mine would probably be my friend's soft serve ice cream,"

Sorey had entered the cafe only minutes after, though rather than getting to choose a table for himself, he had been quickly shuffled around to whichever one happened to have an open seat - which was how he ended up sheepishly seated across from this stranger.

"I'm sorry for intruding on your table like this - just seems like this cafe was more popular than I thought..."

"I appreciate it - can I at least grab some firewood for you?" He would have felt bad for simply relaxing especially when she was hard at work on their meal. While she did have a point that he had cooked last night - and their usual routine had been to take turns so as to evenly split the work, he still liked to be useful however he could, even if that meant doing so in little ways. Nodding his head toward their pile of food, he was quick to agree to her suggestions, as they did sound pretty good. "I think that'd be great - it'd be a good way to make use of those herbs too. We have been carrying them around for a bit now, so it'd be best not to let them go to waste," He had no complaints there. "Plus, some smoked meat sounds great too - I can't wait to see how this meal turns out,"

"Come to think of it, I am pretty hungry," That much was a bit of an understatement, though he had kept it to himself, not wanting to disturb the progress they'd made. Besides, they were getting to rest up and eat now, so at least that was something to look forward to. Leaning down to examine some of the rations, he gives a small smile. "So, who's on cooking duty tonight? I don't mind,"

"I'm not trying to disregard your feelings here, I just think that you should be giving this a little more thought...!" To argue with his best friend like this, especially so fiercely, was a feeling entirely foreign to him - and not one that was at all pleasant. He didn't like that he was hurting someone that he cared about, especially when they had set out on this journey together, but his resolve remained firm and hearing Mikleo's fierce words only seemed to enhance his own resolve and stubbornness tenfold as he glared at the shape of his departing friend.

"Go, then!" His words were not driven by cruelty - but a genuine feeling that this might be best for Mikleo. Mikleo still had a choice and he didn't need to be bound to this duty simply because Sorey was.

Though parting ways had genuinely been horrible - and not at all how he had wanted this to happen, if this meant Mikleo's freedom then so be it. Still, there was one persistent, nagging question that hung over his head.

" --- if you don't want to listen to me, then FINE ! Count me OUT, Sorey ! " He'll listen to Lailah just fine--- designate HER as the voice of reason, but not his own best friend !? The one who knows him the best, has been by his side since they could barely WALK !? Who only has his well-being in mind, and would stop at NOTHING to ensure Sorey came out of this entire ordeal alive and well !?

Take a blade and drive it straight through his chest, Sorey -- he cannot tell the difference, at this point.

He won't stick around long enough to hear it, anyway. For the first time in . . . well, since they've known each other, he feels it may be best to establish DISTANCE.

Mikleo has left the party.

"Mass compression technology...?" Tilting his head to the side, he couldn't help but give a bit of a puzzled frown as he didn't understand exactly what that meant, though it did sound pretty impressive. "I bet they must be really spectacular to see in person," Where he was from, such advanced technology like airships were things that people could only dream of, so to be able to see one in person truly sounded like a special experience. Frowning sympathetically, he nods his head. "I'm sorry for all that you've lost but to be able to carry on and still try to rebuild shows tremendous strength and perseverance, I think."

"So, they've been handed down to you? That must give them an extra significance to you," He had to admit, having never known his own parents, he did feel a little envious more than that, he was just happy that this guy seemed to have something to remember his parents by. Though the mention of the jacket was what caught his interest the most. "Ah, so what sort of corporation did your family run? Something related to clothes, then?" The jacket did sound pretty practical and the more he heard about it, the more he was intrigued by it. "Sounds like a really practical jacket and great for almost any situation - if shops where I lived sold that, I'd probably want one too!"

"...I know," He ducks his head, his expression seeming to frown solemnly for the briefest of the moments, as though he knew what he was doing was wrong. "I don't like lying to Gramps and sneaking around like this, but I just...I have to know what's out there. Don't you feel the same?"

He had always felt that pull toward exploration and adventure and deep down, he sensed that Mikleo did as well. Smiling widely from ear to ear at Mikleo's agreement, he wasted no time in nodding his head and following after his friend.

"We'll be back before you know it - with some cool discoveries, too!"

"W-Well, Gramps doesn't always find out, right?" Even in the back of his mind, Sorey knew he was kidding himself here and any excuse he had ready would likely be a pretty weak one, but the urge to explore was just too strong! "How could I forget...? I think it was the scariest I've ever seen him...!"

10. What genre do you most enjoy, whether in roleplay, or fiction as a whole? (fantasy, period, superhero, etc.)

They definitely each have their merits (I feel like I say that a lot, lol - sorry!) but I'd have to say, I enjoy the simple slice of life threads the most. Nothing against fantasy verses or superhero verses, I think they can be a lot of fun - but if I'm going to write such a detailed and different verse, it would be something that would require a bit of thought and care - and that is part of the fun in writing such verses, they allow you to really get creative and potentially collaborate with the other mun you're writing it with.

But in my heart, I'll always love slice of life threads the best, I just love the simplicity and the relatability of them - so often, I find myself drawing inspiration for thread ideas, simply from just my real life around me and I honestly think that's great - these small and simple ideas are exciting and no less important to me. Plus, as someone who's not really great at action threads, I kind of enjoy the simplicity of two muses just sitting down to talk, you know? Just two people getting to know each other or catching up.

12. What roleplay trends do you remember from the year you started tumblr rp? how did you feel about those trends?

Maybe not so much a trend but I remember seeing a lot more RPH (or roleplay help, I think?) blogs back in the day? These were blogs that basically offered a variety of services depending on the individual person running it - they could offer faceclaim suggestions, shout out up and coming groups, recommend groups or other blogs and a small handful of them did offer up graphics. I feel like I've seen a lot less of them over the years - even just out of curiosity, I looked in the tags recently and while there are a few of them, there's definitely a lot less than what I remember. As for what I think of them, I think they were really helpful and great resources.

2. Is it hard for you to write with characters you don’t know/don’t know well?

There definitely is an element of difficulty when it comes to writing with an unfamiliar character, but for me, it's less the character I worry about and more about how a crossover would work, you know? Especially if the two come from vastly different universes that are extremely different from each other.

Also I think it depends on the other mun - for example, if someone wasn't familiar with Zestiria or with Sorey, I wouldn't ask them to familiarize themselves with the universe just to be able to write with me - some muns do take the initiative on their own to do a bit of a research but it's not something I ask of them or require them to do. If I see an unfamiliar character, I'm definitely inclined to do at least do a Google search and try to think of some ways for our characters to interact but I won't play a whole new game/watch a whole new series - just to familiarize myself with a muse or with a fandom - it sounds ridiculous but I've been asked to do that, before.

I'd say my go-to is usually a non-specific modern verse - it's easy and non-specific enough for our muses to be able to interact, I think, without any wrinkles or complications - and if I do go with that, I try to be careful to not drop too much references to Zestiria, so as not to confuse anyone.

7. Describe your favorite relationship dynamic. (can be any kind, platonic, romantic, familial, antagonistic, etc.)

They each have their merits in my opinion - I would say the coziest for me to write would be platonic relationships, especially when the two muses have a really comfortable rapport. Sometimes, even if you don't talk to a mun personally, you can just have a really comfortable back and forth between your muses because of that platonic chemistry that's developed between them and I'm all for two muses just chilling as friends.

With romantic relationships, there's a lot of fun angles you can go with - like the build up, the two actually becoming a couple, those cute early budding relationship moments or a comfortably established domestic couple with just cute moments - or you could throw some angst at them, angst is always great too.

Familial is just also cute, especially 'found family' dynamics where two muses develop a sibling-like bond or a parental bond toward each other. I just love found family dynamics so much and I guess I have a particular soft spot for them because I tend to write only child characters - but if anyone ever did want to do a sibling AU or something like that, I'd be down.

Lastly, antagonistic relationships are just fun to write - that back and forth conflict, that clashing of ideals - it's just another dynamic that I'm a sucker for and that I think is a lot of fun to write.
