Good news for Strangertown fans today!

You can now find and download Strangertown on either Mod The Sims and/or my public folder via Mega.

Please note: there are no new updates included, this is simply a re-upload of the most recent October 2021 version.

Please also note that the Mega folder includes all parts of Strangertown in one convenient place: Sims, Lots, Terrain Map, Main Hood, and both Bella/no Bella Subhoods. Yay!

TS2 uploads delayed

Hi there Simmers! I live the support I've been receiving lately, you guys are so cool! I've even been reblogged by @chrisnewbie (I love ur work).

But I'm afraid I must delay what I was planning to share these days, however, I'd like to share an sneak peak of what is coming to The Sims 2 soon!

I have all the entire expansions packs installed actually,what I meant is that If I place the subhood you made in the Open for Business Template folder like you instructed,in the game it shows up under the shopping districts adding list and *not* in the urban nightlife cities,but if it's that's what you intended it to be for originally,then I'm sorry for the confusion (mercury retrograde's fault lmao 😭)

Oh!! In that case, I can confirm my subhoods are Shopping Districts intentionally and not Downtown hoods. I'm so sorry for the confusion, friend!

i have a question about the subhood versions of the neighbourhoods you recreated,are they supposed to be like downtown,or are they just shopping districts? because when I install others that are supposed to be like that,the instructions of the NeighbourhoodTemplate folders paths are different and not Funky Business/Open for business,so I don't know if If Im doing the right thing or not (I have the double deluxe collection)

As I understand the Double Deluxe edition, it does not come with Open For Business so shopping districts will be restricted for you if you *only* have Double Deluxe installed.

This means you would only be able to play my hoods as Main Hoods (folder goes in normal Neighborhoods folder), not Subhoods (shopping districts).

ohhhhh I love this reading of Nervous' character! I can also see how he might model his new look after Pascal: a person who he not only likes but also deems "normal" as one of the more grounded people living in Strangetown.

my hot take is that nervous subject is not a part of the punk subculture. his mohawk in game is kind of a way to show that his hair falls out due to the experiments imo (and its sticking up because of electricity). he actually has no idea what he himself would want to wear, this man has no sense of self because of the circumstances he's in. he just wears whatever circe and loki brought him. the skulls on the t-shirt are just a part of funny foreshadowing.

maybe he would love punk fashion when he has more independence and when he realizes what he actually wants to look like, but im not sure about that tbh. i feel like he would love to feel more "normal", to have more inner peace and to not feel constant anxiety and stress.

Deputy Duncan Sheriff Hat

As promised, here is a random sampling of cut footage, outtakes, and other fun moments I happened upon while making "Just A..." story.

This image is that missing key transitional picture (*) I mentioned. I wanted to express the trio's similar obsession with teenage vanity over "looking cool." It got cut for space, obviously, but it's still not exactly right in the end anyway so getting cut was probably for the best here. :\ (Note to self: get better at photo editing. And sizing.)

In all my sim years, I've never seen Ripp's dialogue about getting dumped before. O_O

It happened when I had Ripp ask Ophelia out on a date, then while on the date she called Johnny to ask him out on a date. Ripp's date abruptly ended with the above dialogue pop ups.

Johnny can "Fly To School"!?!?!

(My biggest regret is that I thought to take a screenshot of this option but NOT actually choosing it in the end. D'oh. I tried to re-create it but I can't get the option back??)

Completely opposite to what I posted in the story, here's Ripp's natural reaction to Phi and Johnny approaching him.

It took me hundreds of tries to get that Johnny/Ophelia walk scene right, and in one of the failed attempts I caught a great Tank moment.

This is how I intended to start the story btw, very Simpsons-like for no particular reason.

Here's Johnny and Ophelia's reactions to Tank beating up Ripp at school. I thought about writing it in somehow (ie. changing the camera angle so you could see their faces), but I had to routinely remind myself that "Just A..." is Ripp's story. He doesn't get to know how Johnny/Ophelia feel about him until the end.

I really loved this shot and I'm so sad I couldn't fit it in. Note the Johnny calendar/SHWC easter egg. And chips on the floor. ;)

...and that pretty much concludes all the "extras" I have.

Thank you for your collective warm reception to my little song story. It was fun to get out, in the end, and now I'm suddenly inspired to play with the premades again. :)
