So, I am like a week late on this, but work remains insanely busy. Big projects that keep requiring attention and problem solving mixed with doing 3-4 jobs at the same time, all at the highest levels. (Do not recommend. Please send good vibes that this round for hiring my boss is more successful than the last one.)
Anyway, it was recently the 30th Anniversary of Batman Forever. 30! That's a big deal! Even merited an Instagram post from COD himself!
Like many people, Batman Forever was my introduction to Chris. 10 years ago, I did the 20 weeks for 20 years project. So I'm just going to (be lazy and) link to the intro post on that, the tag, and also the post on Batman Forever specifically. (This all led up to COD's bday on June 26th -- which is right around the corner again, as well.)
The anniversary is of course even more bittersweet since we lost Val, and, while this wasn't his favorite movie to make, he brought everything like he always does. He was such a special talent.
There are a couple GIFsets and things I've seen on this here Tumblr dot com that I will probably also be reblogging.

Not related to anything specific at all, but when you only have one new show so you can focus more time and energy on it...don't get the worst promotional/marketing people on the planet.
Cringing from second-hand embarrassment is not how I like to get excited for and be positive about things.
Again, though, not related to anything at all.

Matt always does good interviews. He asked Chris more about his character and some other things, but Chris was tight-lipped and not sure what he could or couldn't say -- confirmed what we already know. He added that they haven't started filming yet so he can't really give you a "feel" of the character yet. Nashville will be new to him, but he knows people there and is excited to go.
He did say that he was different from Callen in a few ways, and it sounds like where Callen stays "in his shell" Don does not.
Apparently he knew Todd had been on the Mothership, but hadn't actually watched the episode yet nor heard about the reveals. "Oh, I'm having a baby?" And then said that it was at least a good sign that he and Anna were still married.
Hetty came up, and he mentioned that a few NCIS: LA people (not sure all who) actually tried to pitch for a TV Movie a little bit after the show ended, but CBS didn't bite.
So, yes, the interview seemed NCIS: LA heavy, but hey, there's only so much about the new show right now.
Jessica Capshaw's interview also revealed her character is named Blythe (so I guess Brad Falchuk is giving his mother-in-law a shoutout < my commentary). She is in the horse-racing business, not emergency services of any kind.
Also, the Chris interview video had issues for me at TVLine, so this is the direct YouTube link for it.

Shout out to anyone from the NCIS: LA fandom that sees this. Thinking of all the Sunday night hangs and missing the fun and warmth of it.
I watch Hacks, so I saw Medalion in her role. Definitely different from LA...and not something you'd see on network TV. But she was fun and gorgeous.
And I finally got around to watching The Residence. I had paused Netflix, to try to cut back on things. But they only let you do that for like 3 months. Booo. Anyway, did watch it. Got to see Barrett. I read very little details before, so I had no idea he got to be the First Gentleman! Being the VIP Cutie up in that thing! And Jane Curtain was his mom? Yes, please! Love it! (And, yes, the show was good.)
Anyway, feeling kind of nostalgic. Obviously.

A pretty good interview with some good info, but they are still keeping a tight lid on things.
Quick Notes:
-Filming in about a month. -Chris confirmed they've read a script and are just about done with casting. -Jessica has talked to costume. Chris mentioned they would be starting on sets. -He's excited to be on location and for the show to be able to take advantage of the city. -All he gave away about his character was that he's the captain, which we already knew. -Crossover is still just a hypothetical but possible. -Chris knows Rob Lowe and will be seeing him for an unrelated reason in a couple weeks and plans to ask for any advice (which he may or may not take.)

Okay, so, untagged post with commentary on 911: Nashville (though I guess it'll show up in a text search, but who's going to stop and read it really?)
The 9PM timeslot was a likely one, but not ideal. That puts it up against Matlock, which is a juggernaut. And I want that to continue to do well to root for ECO, so I knew ABC would annoy me and put my blue-eyed brotp guys against each other (in a way).
The Original Recipe and Grey's sandwich makes for a compatible night, but the earlier timeslot would have been better with what show they're clearly trying to make. I'm sure some under 30s will be cast (soon?) because you can't be at 9PM and not have some under 30s. Older skewing shows do better earlier.
However, I think that's another good sign for Original Recipe. It's in the timeslot it's done well in and deserves to keep -- and shows the network still prioritizes it. Totally fair. They want it to be their tentpole for the night, and as it gets more expensive you want better ad rates. If Nashville truly saves them as much money as it sounds, then it can afford less profitable ad rates. Seems primed to do better in linear vs. streaming, though, but we'll see.
In the end, it'll be what it'll be. Just here for the ride.

'9-1-1: Nashville' Info Recap
I was really hoping we'd get more info today on additional cast members, but don't seem to have it. I admit, I was refreshing different sites between work tasks (shhh, but really, I do enough extra hours, it's fine), to see updates. (This is a non-commentary post, but i will do an untagged one after.)
So, what we know so far:
Timeslot: Thursdays, 9PM/8PM Central (That's my time! Gotta rep!)
Chris is the lead and has an Executive Producer credit.
Other announced cast: Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams Paisley, and Leann Rimes

Reminder: Tomorrow is May 13th, so Disney Upfronts. We should get more info, at least where it will fall on the schedule. There are also usually Upfront parties, so possibly new pics!
And I realize I have been following this kind of TV stuff for over 20 years.

Self pity party in the tags because it has been a Week(TM) that followed what had really been a Month(TM).
