I've had this piece lying around half-coloured for a while now. Still not entirely happy with the result, but better to just put it to rest at this point

I want to try being a bit looser and experiment more with the next couple of pieces, so I'm not sure how that's going to turn out. Should be interesting though!

Beginning to work my way through the rest of the party from my first campaign.

First up here is Hex, resident warforged warlock, and frequent chooser of violence.

I probably could've used this as a chance to practice lighting on metal...buuuuut it's only few days into my easter break and I'm still a little too wiped out for that right now.

I finally managed to get a friend to start The Final Empire, so its been digging its hooks into me again.

I had to 'Imagine an Island' for my latest university project (in which I took a completely normal degree of influence from the Stormlight Archive).

Here's the view of the island afar I did before my final outcome, and some of the early thumbnails.

My schedule's been pretty hectic, so I haven't had much time to spare for my own drawing endeavours. Absolutely melted my brain, but here are some hermit crabs I did for my last uni project though.

One final set of bug type sketches. My rendering is quite slow, so for these coloured ones I wanted to try and balance speed and effectiveness.

Ah, rendering, my old nemesis. Anyways, here are some more bug pokemon. Volcarona could've used a bit more contrast and hard shadows, but I'm feeling good about the process I'm making.

Found a few sketches I had left unfinished from the end of last year, so I figured I might as well clean them up, and use them to play around with my style.

I'll probably end up doing a few more. Bug's just a fun type.

Finished my final workshop for this term of university today!

I've been wanting to work on not just solely doing fanart in my free time; posting some of my coursework seemed like a good place to start.

For this piece, I had to base it on the quote "Time and patience are the two greatest warriors". It was a lot of fun to play around with character designs. I definitely got a little overzealous though with the scale - it ended up almost A1 sized.

Uni's been eating up most of my time recently, and I'm definitely feeling that end-of-term-fatigue.

I'm trying to catchup on the backlog of stuff I've wanted to draw. I've been playing around with coloured pencils recently, although I'm still really not any good with them.

6. Lament

I couldn't really settle on anything specific for this prompt, so I just used it as an excuse to draw Vin. It's been a month or two since I last used inks, so it was nice to get back into that.

On top of coursework, my iPad also broke. Which, that's just great. I'm not sure whether I'm gonna be able to keep up and finish inktober. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up over the weekend, and it's a good excuse to focus on my ink drawing more, but I could've done without that this week.

5. Wind

A little bit late with getting this one done, but I'm feeling amped with the result. I had a sketch of Syl I was going to do originally - but then I got stuck thinking about Kaladin's windspren shardplate. Something about the description of them when he swears the 4th ideal - of a vortex, and the sky exploding with light - is stuck in my head.

I still want to take another crack at that scene at some point. I had a good go last inktober but there was obviously time constraints; then there was a second attempt that never quite got past the lineart (just didn't seem to be clicking). So yeah, just something sitting on the backburner for now I guess.
