Blog Discontinued

Amazing that it’s only occurred to me after 8 months that I never made a post saying that this blog had sorta been dropped? 

Just both mods fell out of Homestuck several months ago, and so this blog got dropped with it. I’ve actually sort of forgot about it’s existence? Hence the lack of updates.

I mean, you can keep following the blog if you want, but there’s not going to be any new content. Sorry about that...

can l ask why you changed the kids god tiers to non canon ones?

Okay 1) I am puzzled about the phrasing ‘changed’, considering there is nothing for them to be changed from. This isn’t me taking the kids in canon and altering their god tiers just cause. This is a whole new universe in which they have god tiers all their own and things. (Also so far only Jade and Rose have non-canon classes. Dave is the only non-canon aspect, also so far.)

2) Because I like to think there are more than simply 12 classes. I mean, there’s nothing saying there can’t be repeats of god tiers in larger player sessions (like the 48 players who came before the trolls and formed their 48 sign zodiac, which has been joked to be squiddles), but it seems to me like their should still be more. (Also repeats aren’t nearly as fun)

Especially if we also go along with the theory about how each session forms a stage of a game, which I can’t find at the moment: Cherubs - bare bones (two big main classes was a thing mentioned for this), Alpha kids - Alpha release, Beta kids - Beta release, Alternian trolls - finished game, Dancestors - upgrade to base game/modded/easier? something like that. If that theory is correct, then that would mean the session before the dancestors would be even more developed, meaning that the addition of more classes would not be so strange. (Though I suppose since it’s a backwards progression to the bare bones form of the game, technically the sessions are subtracting classes, but again, this is a backwards progression and time is weird in regards to the game anyway.)

So my datemate and I, with this logic, took the canon god tiers and some interesting fanmade ones, some of which are our own creations, to compile a list of 44 different possible classes. We also concluded that there are probably at some point more than 12 aspects, hence our list/spreadsheet of 50+ of those.

With that in mind, we carefully examined each class and aspect, what it means for the player and the game and etc, and chose what we felt best fit each of these new versions of the kids. 

So tl;dr, because having more than simply 12 classes and aspects is more compelling/interesting and makes more sense to me personally for this game, and it’s also neat to find through that what fits each kid best and the effect their class and aspect, canon or not, has on the game.

Wow, there sure has been a lot of progress since I did those design things! But ahhhh shame about February and June having no art. ID I was busy with other stuff during those periods, other fandoms and things lol But here's to another year!

Alright, you're not a very GOOD ARTIST, at least when it comes to the visual arts, but you're still an artist. You've tried your hand at a FEW DIFFERENT MEDIUMS--cinematography, fashion, sketching--but you just don't seem to HAVE THE KNACK FOR IT. Currently, you're attempting your hand at PAINTING, much to the disdain of one of your more artistically-inclined hatefriends, but who cares what he thinks anyway. You're actually QUITE GOOD AT WRITING, especially poetry, but given that creative writing of those sorts is considered a useless, unrespectable, and even forbidden practice, you've sort of ABANDONED IT.

Okay, not really. You actually still WRITE PLENTY ON THE SLY, but it's really frustrating to be good at something that has no practical use on its own without being paired with a visual medium. If only you could get the hang of screenplays... Regardless, your useless talent and lack of success in other more favorable pursuits DOES NOT KEEP YOU FROM TRYING. You'll get the hang of it someday, you just know it. At any rate, you're glad you have a MOIRAIL, because as grouchy as he can be half the time, it's still nice to have a person to vent to about this stuff, even if HE DOESN'T GET IT. Ugh, tech heads...

You also have a DEEP LOVE OF HISTORY, particularly art history, which you devour like hot grub loaf out of the oven to use your moirail's highblood vernacular. You particularly enjoy READING THROUGH THE HISTORICAL LOGS chronicled by various and sometimes dubious Imperial Annalists, although you are a bit embarrassed to admit that. It's like TERRIBLE GOSSIP IN THE FORM OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS, and you just can't help yourself. That, and it's READING, and you will never let anyone know how much you love to read just about anything. It's up there with your UNIRONIC ADORATION OF MAGIC. It just hurts so good.

One interest you haven't been able to try your hand at is LIVE ROLEPLAYING. You actually know a group in your sector who has done it. However, they all had their own partners already and nobody wants to be the fifth vestigal limb. You've tried to convince your moirail to PARTNER UP WITH YOU so you could join without feeling awkward, but he always refuses, because of all the FEAR-MONGERING BULLSHIT surrounding it about lowbloods who have gotten so caught up they wandered into the wrong sectors and got hurt. That, and he thinks Vriska and Terezi are TOO RISKY to be around, so you've never gotten to play. It doesn't matter now, since the group has split up. Your moirail likes to use Terezi and Vriska's ACCIDENTS as proof of their riskiness, and you guess you can see his point, but it's not like Terezi gouged her own eyes out...

Sometimes I think of Pester logs that actually occur in the bloodswap, but I never actually write them down. I kind of liked this one, so here's a convo between Good twin Caliborn, who's still kind of an ass, and kidswap Dirk, who has a grandpa to live up to instead of a bro.

Because I mentioned once that the trolls probably pick up habits from their lusii, and I realized then that Tavros probably has a habit of snorting, lowering his horns, and pawing the ground when he's angry.

John Egbert, Page of Space

The Page class is defined as one who provides their aspect or provides with their aspect. It's a class of potential most of all, and putting that together with Space makes for a lot of potential.

The idea of potential is important to John most of all for the way he grew up, sheltered beneath the wings of an overprotective mother who loved him dearly but left John without much experience overall, and he found himself the most confused and uncertain of his purpose and goals in-game. Pages are known for a slower path to growth as well, and perhaps there would have been more trouble for them in-game if not for Rose's aide and the help of a patron Knight. 

John has a lot more to learn about his aspect, himself, and more figuratively the space around him, before he can come close to his full potential, but John is a fast learner, and he's steadily learning the ropes. In the meantime, he wouldn't mind some pants.

I saw an awesome Dirk with a ponytail like this, and I totally fell in love with the idea, so I had to draw it for myself. Thinking about actually drawing Dirk like this from now on.

Edit: Fixed Dirk’s freckles so that they actually looks like freckles now >:P

I just found all those old spite edits on my computer okay, and I just--look at them
