Lily is lolly cake because it’s associated with children/childhood and is a small sweet treat. Lolly cake usually has green (val) yellow (aubrie) pink (penny) and white (koko) marshmallows which matches the people lily is closest to in the prison.

(It’s like this cake circle with marshmellows in it and coconut sprinkled on top)

Valerie is pāua on chips because it looks gross but it’s actually so good!!! It seems weird and less refined then lily’s lolly cake but is an actual meal not just a sweet short dessert and most people who get past the initial knee jerk dislike end up enjoying it from my experience (also it looks green in some lighting and colours are weirdly important to me in these assignments)

Penny is Pavlova because its cute and is basically a sweet bass you can put any fruit and creams and other things on

( a meringue you make shaped like a cake and put things on. traditionally wiped cream some time of fruit like strawberries and kiwi fruit and then you add chocolate flakes! often eaten around Christmas time or at big family meals/dinner parties)

Aubrie is weatbix because I always had to do those stupid weetbix eating competitions and I think having to eat dull tasteless weetbix till your mouth goes dry and you cough them back up again is a good metaphor for his struggle. Also colour / feeling is right!

Connor is jaffas because writing for him makes me want to throw him down Baldwin Street!!! But also because they are red and uniform and kinda have a hidden side to them (and spoiler reason)

(I'm not good at writing organised analysis... bear with me, its kinda all over the place)

Okay first off, I think conner isn't good at many things. not that he's bad at many things, but I don't think he has any extraordinary skills

his was of compensating could be the manner in which he speaks. lots of long sentences and a kind of fancy? way of talking

I assume he got that kind of vocabulary from reading and writing often

Conor - “Maybe not but it lightens up the mood doesn’t it? I’m Conor , I enjoy writing in my free time but I must confess I’m not very good at it.”

^ this paragraph is a good example, "But I must confess __" is a very fancy way of saying "but __"

“Someone is hurting your friend “killing” them just not in the sense of stabbing them to death…you’d still step in to stop that person wouldn’t you?”

Conner views his crime as justified and the person who he killed as someone who was hurting and threatening to do something to his friend. someone who was using his friend maybe?

not a physical threat of violence but something just as dangerous... im a bit confused, will come back to it

I'm not sure if the "friend" he is referring to is his roommate or not because he talks about them separately

I am assuming the roommate is not his victim because he seems to talk about him very kindly

His voice drama being "son of man" is interesting, it refers to Jesus obviously but also the painting, the point of the painting is to partially obscure the face so you want to see more. but if it IS a reference to Jesus.. giggles in bible knowledge

Conners flower is "Rose of Jericho"

Jericho is the town where Jesus met Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector, who were viewed as corrupt traitors, Zacchaeus was too short to see Jesus above the crowd so.

 Zacchaeus then ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree along Jesus's path. When Jesus reached the spot he looked up at the sycamore tree, addressed Zacchaeus by name, and told him to come down, for he intended to visit his house. The crowd was shocked that Jesus, a religious teacher/prophet, would sully himself by being a guest of a sinner.

umm kicks dirt, just.. interesting..... conner is maybe connected to jesus in symbolism so I don't think he would be Zacchaeus in this situation because he is tall (175cm) and Zacchaeus is said to be short.

Not sure who Zacchaeus could represent in this situation, maybe his timid friend? what im gathering is that possibly conner could be someone his friend respects and maybe idolises

also Rose of Jericho are toxic to cats, which makes me worried for Aubrey (mostly aubrey), Eleanor and Valerie

first of all, im very curious about this person, we haven't seen a person in a mugshot frame before, I wonder if conner believes in ghosts? he did talk alot about "Milgram must be another world" in his voice drama... before dropping the subject <- maybe he's been viewed as weird due to it before?

For the second image, it looks like conner has alot of badges and pins. these could be decorative but some are ribbons. so they must be awards right? but I'm a bit confused because conner seems to think he has nothing to offer the world and isn't good at anything

the only option that gets you to the fail screen is the blank option. which also makes sense, you can't say you did nothing when someone asks you. makes me think he doesn't do much or anything on the weekends. maybe because depressive episode..? not sure not sure, I'm hesitant to say hes depressed or gets depressive episodes because I don't want to label him exactly in case its insensitive or inaccurate

in which the large triangle is trapped in a box, escapes, seems to bullys and hits the small triangle. the circles goes into the box to hide, large triangle goes into the box with the circle and corners circle. circle and small triangle escape after small triangle opens up the box for circle large triangle has a tantrum and destroy the box.

Im not sure how this relates.. maybe the large triangle is his victim, he is the small triangle and his friend/roommate is the small circle?

I'm wondering if conner's family could potentially be religious? He has a little bit of seemingly christian related stuff (son of man, rose of Jericho)

Most boarding schools (that I've seen at least) tend to be religious ones and I already don't think Conner is straight based on the "what kind of girl do you like" and girls being the only "acceptable" option which could imply he grew up in a traditional environment?

I could very much be wrong and reaching but interesting to think about nontheless

Yeah his family is religious and he went to a religious primary school and the boarding school is probably religious too but he more so went to boarding school because he came from a small rural town where if you wanted to do anything with your life you needed to leave for better education. House hold was very traditional the town in general was very traditional.

Lily and Valerie also come from a religious household.

Connor’s religious symbolism though it works is mostly coincidental. I wanted symbolism for other things and it turns out a lot of symbolism surrounding re-birth/resurrection and abnormality vs conformity have Christian origins/conations for obvious reasons so though the connections work you shouldn’t expect it to be something I heavily dive into because my knowledge is VERY limited TvT

Fun fact Eleanor and Connor come from the same home town so when you see the town in Elly’s update thats the town I’ve been talking about in this ask! (They don’t know each other pre-milgram tho)

the cover illustration reminds me of a hypnosis pendulum. the drawing on the pendulum depicts a birdcage? one of the strings attached to the pendulum is wrapped around connor's arm and the other looks cut, the end of it is ruffled in a way that happens when you sloppily cut the thread, "cutting off ties"

name of the voice drama is "the son of man" which is name of a painting

"son of man" is also a phrase that is used in the bible & i'm quite sure the painting is referencing it too bc there's also apples and all... this could be connected to connor's feeling of being dehumanized

connor presents his crime as killing someone who wanted to hurt his friend and who he hated deeply for this, but i think connor killed his friend

what i found interesting is that connor asks "someone is trying to kill A dear friend" (not your, my, etc.) - which made me think that he means "you see that someone is killing their friend" - but the warden interprets it "i see someone killing my friend" and they continue the conversation with this assumption

in the "how are you", the only acceptable moods are calm smiles (3rd and the last one). negative or too strong emotions are not acceptable

in "what did you do this weekend?", anything is acceptable except for a black square. he's not allowed to do nothing. the pictures stand for games with friends, homework, going outside, cleaning the house, painting, writing (something that connor mentioned as his hobby), watching tv? (it's so small and old...), and working a job

in "where do you see yourself in ten years?", the unacceptable answers are a black square, a coffin, and a "?". other options are a museum (being a famous artist?), a doctor, a business meeting, a family, universe (again maybe something related to being famous?), and mathematical formulas on blackboard

in "what are you thinking about right now?", the only acceptable option is a picture that depicts how a butterfly is getting developed after chrysalis stage, so i guess it means "development". i feel like other pictures are becoming more and more confusing i will not even try to decipher them, but i want to note that one of the pictures is a chrysalis and it's considered a fail - he's expected to be at a Particular stage of development at the current moment, not just developing in general

in "what kind of girl you like?" anything is acceptable except for the black square but we know what connor is

"what kind of music you like?" has text: "just whatever happens on the radio"

"would you sacrifice yourself for the sake of others?" - the only acceptable option is "yes"

"what do you have to offer the world" - WHAT the fuck is going on here. i don't know but the only acceptable options are lamps which i suppose mean "ideas". raven on a tree without leaves could symbolize death since its a common symbol for cemeteries? i don't know what are these red pictures they scare me

the next one is another text. "don't think that i had a sad life" is also something that connor says in the voice drama

in "what would you rid the world of if you had the choice?", the unacceptable options are connor, his friend and black square. the other options are bullying, a fox (diseases?), pollution, broken heart, murder, trolley problem

"what part of yourself could you go without?" depicts a jigsaw puzzle of connor, the only acceptable option is a drawing of a heart. feelings/attachments?

the last one is a text again - what is interesting is that the font changes, implying that this question is not out of the same row as all the previous ones. all the previous questions were like an exam on being a proper person, but this one asks connor what does He want, something that people in his daily life aren't interested in. anyway the button that leads further is "forgive"

i could only see it because i was enlargening the page to see captcha images more properly so i'm not sure where it's placed... but there's a line at the bottom of the last page saying "if not me then yourself"

connor says that the person who he killed was killing his friend in a metaphorical sense, and that the friend is grateful and is currently moving on with his life in the outside world. i think that connor killed his friend but aside from just Making Up Stuff i'm not sure what he's implying, i suppose he could do this because his friend was doing something that made connor think he's losing him? & although from the context they mean "other world" as "outside world", it doesn't neccessarily mean this, and it wouldn't be the first time that connor is saying something with an ambiguous meaning and then going along with how the other person interprets it (the "someone is killing a friend" conversation)

i also found it interesting that connor talks rather coldly about aubrey but i'm not sure what to make out of this, maybe he's staying on a distance because his previous friendship failed

i'm gonna vote aubrey guilty and connor inno because i think it's funnier this way
