did you miss hades at all during your time away?

spoilers// the first meetings with mom were very difficult

since persephone has to divide her time between the earth and the underworld, she feels like she’s never enough to people. that, paired with her other insecurity problems, hits her at the core.

she’s got so many responsibilities that she feels like she can never truly put all her time into something, which in turn makes her feel like she’s not doing enough or is enough. she looks at her children and realizes that she can only be half a mother to them. she looks at her husband and realizes that she can only be half a wife to him. she walks around the underworld knowing she’s only their queen for part of the year before she’s on the surface again. and it’s the same with her mother and the mortals. she’s only half a daughter to her, she’s only half a provider and caretaker to them.

is this perception of herself healthy? absolutely not. she’s aware that it isn’t healthy either and tries to remind herself that she’s doing the best she can. but alas, it never really sticks since she repeatedly struggles to combat her own insecurities.
