❗This pain 😖will end one day.We will heal our wounds 🤕and move forward. 👨👩👦👦
Just as I struggled with my husband before to build my family and home, I will rebuild my family and home again.
I am Ayat Hamdan,
a mother of four children.

I know I am burdening you with a request for help, but all doors have been closed in front of us.
We returned from displacement... only to find my house completely destroyed and burned.
Now, my family and I are homeless. I lost my small project, and my husband lost his job because of this war.
We no longer own anything, except for our hope in God and your compassionate hearts.💖
My children are suffering from severe malnutrition and lack of medicine; their teeth and bones can no longer bear the pain.
And now we are in a danger zone, threatened with evacuation, as shells fall near us, and we cannot flee due to the high cost of transportation.

We barely receive donations of $5, which is hardly enough for a loaf of bread for my little daughter. Our situation has become pitiable. If each of you donates $25, it will make a difference for my devastated family.
hearts.

When gas disappears… we invent fire.
In Gaza, where war stole everything from us — even our gas cylinders — we refused to freeze or give up.

With nothing but scrap metal, old car oil, and computer fans, people here built handmade burners to cook, boil water, and survive.
We turned trash into life. We turned despair into invention. This is how we fight for existence every single day.
We don't just survive — we create.🔥🛠️💔
Reblog. Raise awareness. Let the world see our resilience.

As for me… I’m Kareman, a mother in Gaza.
I’m doing my best to protect and care for my son, Hammoud, in the middle of this war.
Thanks to a kind friend’s donation, I was able to bring a little light into my child’s life — food, warmth, and a smile.
The photo below is my son smiling next to the food we managed to buy.

That smile is a rare treasure in the middle of fear, displacement, and hunger.😭🫶❤️
If you’re reading this, please… don’t let this be the last smile I see on his face.🙏

Trix: Disenchantix Re-design! <3
Yes I am aware of my clear favoritism towards Darcy, but it was an accomplishment to bring myself to do her last so I’d design Icy and Stormy.

Iginio Straffi is completely out of touch with the audience

Why does tenca, Aisha and bloom have the same color scheme? Why are Aisha and flora a few shades lighter than they usually are? Why does musa look like that?

That studio is run by pure morons cause even judging from a solely marketing/ business perspective, it doesn't even make sense, like they hate making money, which sounds more absurd for a corporation.
Why does Wonder Woman have to suffer from the fallout of suicide squad’s failure? Why couldn’t WB do something smart for once and write off that trash game? They lost 200 million dollars on that game because it sucked ass and was insulting to fans of the Batman games. But for some reason, they believed that game would be successful based on no evidence whatsoever and lost that much money on it.
Yet Wonder Woman is the one who got fucked over by this despite the fact that game didn’t do anything wrong. I know they would still be making a game if it was about Batman for the 100th time!

Dadneto is getting more cringe every other day.
Seriously the AXIS retcon and Marvel’s obsession to make Magnus family still a thing leads to all kinds of shit writing.(Not really in this particular case but still I don’t like the word used here.) I don’t mind Joseph’s writing here but seriously calling Magneto that is weird.
Because they lose the bloodties, now Marvel needs other justifications to still sell them as a family. To the point they need to conjure none-existent family affections for them(cough Trial of Magneto where Wanda acted like a timid teenage girl).
Let’s call Magneto Wanda’s adoptive father even though dude never raised her, unless you count being a shitty ex-boss as being a parent. Not to mention she actually had adoptive parents, you know the ones where the Maximoff name came from? Django who stared down the face of an Elder God and saved his daughter, and Marya who is actually still alive in Robinson’s Scarlet Witch run. But let’s make Erik and Wanda play wholesome daddy and his little girl and pretend they had this nice family relationship and quietly erase those who actually loved and cared for the twins because Magneto is the far more popular character right? Why don’t we replace Uncle Ben with Tony Stark while we are at it?
Can we just restore the blood ties and make them estranged biological family again? I like Wanda better when she took her allegiance and affection seriously.
And as much as I love Wanda for being a sentimental person, writers’ constant mishandling of her family relationship just makes me wish she is more of a stonehearted bitch who doesn’t give a damn.

Okay well, good to know! Sorry for bothering
Do you look back at this with shame and regret?

I was like...22 at the time? My frontal lobes weren't even fused... Also, I don't really feel the emotion of "shame" anymore since I hit my mid-thirties.

In Scarlet Witch (1994), it was established that each universe's nexus being is different from one another and personifies the unique essence of their respective universe. Although they can be similar, no two beings can be identical. Hence, Lore's Necromancy and other powers such as Geomancy, Sorcery, Psychometry, etc. Do you find this part most interesting? The idea that there might be other Nexus Beings that look like Wanda but don't share the same power as her?
I think it's an interesting concept that with a lot of fun potential, but unfortunately, it doesn't really work in the grand scheme of things. You can't define all magic in a given universe by single type, and no other depictions of the multiverse attempt to follow this principle. As a writer, I have no idea how I would reconcile this obscure bit of isolated worldbuilding against the rest of the entire Marvel canon-- so honestly, I can't blame Orlando for choosing to side-step it instead. He does so in a way that doesn't raise glaring contradictions, which I appreciate, and replaces it with a new context that I think is more functional in the long run.
In theory, Wanda's hex power and Lore's necromancy both work as reality-defining principles of magic, and they provide an exciting contrast-- you have one world where magic is expansive and anything is possible, and another where magic is consumptive and reality is doomed to death and destruction. Even in the new context where nexus beings are agents of change, chosen by the Queen of Nevers, they still work as compelling foils. Wanda is the ultimate nexus, and Lore, her darkest reflection, is... well, the opposite. But I'm not sure if those other examples are as effective-- what does a universe governed by psychometry look like? Isn't "sorcery" a little too vague? It's a fun idea, but it doesn't necessarily hold up under inspection.
Some of the other nexus beings in Scarlet Witch (1994) are definitely different people, but it was implied that there might have been other versions of Wanda besides Lore. To my knowledge, this series predates the notion of the "multiverse" and "variants" as we know them. In contemporary comics, most variants of Wanda have similar powers, but I don't believe any of them are named as nexus beings, and in Scarlet Witch (2024), however, the Queen of Nevers indicates that Lore is the only other Wanda variant to be chosen-- "you have a twin, as only one other nexus did... until she killed hers." If Lore is Wanda, she must have had a Pietro, so I assume this was about her.
Lore, whose magic is described as "necromancy," drains power from the people she kills and worlds she destroys. Interestingly, Marvel Tarot defines "necromantic magic" as "drawing on the potent energies generated by the termination of lesser energies, i.e. human sacrifice"-- and it also states that this form of magic originates from the Darkhold, and by extension, Chthon. So, if Lore's powers are the same as what's being described here, we can imagine that her origins are identical to Wanda's, except that her Chthon-given chaos magic manifests as necromancy, rather than hexes. If you want to get really granular, you could chalk it up to a difference in how Chthon altered her "mutation."
I like this interpretation because it justifies the variance in their powers and diametric opposition as nexus beings in a way that's meaningful to both characters, but again, it doesn't account for the larger system that was portrayed in the '94 miniseries. Personally, I'm comfortable leaving that behind, but I understand why some people are bothered by this sort of soft-retcon. For me, this works better and it opens up more potential stories for Wanda and Lore, which is my priority.

Which obscure magic character (from the official handbook of the Marvel Universe: Mystic Arcana) you see has the most potential and would like to see return?
Jinx, Louise Hastings' grandson from Darkhold: Pages from the Book of Sins. He popped up alongside Vicky Montessi in the 2022 instalment of Crypt of Shadows, but besides that, he hasn't been in anything since the early 90s.
Jinx was introduced as a teenager with a natural affinity for magic, but after recieving some training-- from Modred the Mystic, of all people- he kinda dropped off the map. I feel like it would be very easy to bring him back as a young adult and a full-fledged spellcaster, maybe even give him a makeover if you want. He already has a distinct look and a fun magical gimmick with his right eye, and his relationships with characters like Modred and Vittorio Montessi lend him a unique perspective, especially in stories about the Darkhold. He's a good kid, but he's got a chip on his shoulder and a few very understandable grudges, and he has a more nuanced relationship with some of "villains" in his stories. I think there's a lot of potential there.
I tend to focus on witches and witchcraft when I talk about my favorite magic characters, but I'd love to see Wanda and Vicky head up a team of Darkhold specialists, especially now that Chthon is free again. Jinx is one of the few people who can handle the Darkhold's spells, and I think he'd be no-brainer for that kind of team.

acknowledging that the Hellfire Gala almost certainly does not exist anymore in current marvel canon. I have the Wanda fashion brainworms now. so Too Bad
this one's a high fashion sort of take on Wanda's classic look, though with the gold and celestial motifs pulled from her current look. I skipped lining entirely on this one bc it was all about getting the idea down. sketching was part of that, and coloring + rendering was the other (conveying texture, which is a key part of an outfit design). had a blast with this one, and there's more on the way whenever I feel like it!!
