"I said that she would not have the chance of a snowball in hell of forgetting it." "That's what I thought you said," replied the technician. "What is a snowball? What is hell? What sort of chances do they make?"𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙮 (she/they) • sideblog of a witch who likes gaming too much • videogame lore, multiship, mythos, &c.

Khaenri'ah Relationship Chart v2 ‧₊˚✩彡
I've suffered a lot making this, but full chart of Khaenri'ahn relationships as of v5.4. My pursuit into Khaenri'ahn politics. This chart does span like 5,000 years and includes all figures from the Archon War to the Cataclysm to mythology.
✱ As a default notice: I could've put so many more names in this, but it would start encompassing everything from the House of the Hearth to "everyone who knows the Traveler, twice removed." For the sake of simplicity, I've, well, kept it simple. Once an information graphic gets out of control, there's no reigning it in.
✱ There are two lines I could not draw without crossing others and making things confusing, and that's two specific one: to the Traveler, Arlecchino; and to the Abyss Sibling, King Irmin. Both are obviously connected, it's just the (unfortunate) layout of the chart.
I made this to keep track of Khaenri'ahn politics, because when the drama unfolds, I want to know who started it (that and my A Song of Ice and Fire instincts got the better of me. Thoughts and tidbits that sat in my brain while I made this:
Regnum Concilium Ultimum – translates from Latin to Final Kingdom Council, which is most likely exactly what it sounds like. The only current occupant of this part of the chart is Irmin, himself, suggesting that there was a larger council of members that most likely advised the king. In the Barely-Legible Bulletin found in Gavireh Lajavard it's noted that Anfortas takes regency after Irmin becomes indisposed.
(A notice that once recorded important information, but the content has become nearly impossible to distinguish with the passage of time.) ...In view of King Irmin's present indisposed state and the current unknown threats facing the Kingdom... ...Knight Marshal Anfortas has proclaimed that he will temporarily take up the post of Regent and lead the Regnum Concilium Ultimum until the Kingdom returns to a state of normalcy... ... ...All citizens... wait... will... ...
There is an interesting tie to the Alberichs and the Schwanenritter. While I don't think we can say for sure that Anfortas was an Alberich, it's heavily implied due to his regency. Aso Alberich being known as "Commander of Half the Knights," which would suggest that it may have become a family gig down the line.
From the Hidden Strife event, we have this note squirreled away with everything Kaeya hid behind a brick, also suggesting Anfortas was an Alberich.
Mysterious Box in a Secret Compartment: The writings are as follows: "Remember always that it was the Alberich Clan, who did not have royal blood, who stepped in as regents when the strength of the one-eyed king Irmin failed." Mysterious Box in a Secret Compartment: "Though we could not restore Khaenri'ah to life, we of the Alberich Clan should lead lives as those who blaze like fire, rather than those who wallow in the embers."
This also means that Anfortas was somehow related to Chlothar, which is kind of funny to me, since they were both alive at the same time. One half of the family takes regency, the other half just starts the Abyss Order.
While we're here at the top, another note I wanted to make.
Vinster in reference to Irmin as the "vinster king" is High German for dark. Thus the vinster king is the dark king, which makes sense, if we want to assume the dark statuettes dropped by various Abyssal enemies are Irmin. (This is a longstanding assumption made by the lore part of the fandom, as they so heavily reference Odin.)
Universitas Magistrorum – translates from Latin to University of the Magisters, and is called the "Mysterious Institute" in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. There are a few references to this, especially in terms of alchemical practices (Jakob has some words about the organization). They seem to dip their toes in a few things, though this could have also been something that changed over time. The reference to Alf in relation to the Universitas Magistrorum in Perinheri is interesting since that goes into the realm of myth, which means it was a very, very long time ago. If that's the case, then this institution has been around for a while (like a long, long while).
When Wanderer mentions in Inversion of Genesis that the heavens responded to a summoning, and that's why the Traveler's sibling's first destination was Khaenri'ah, I couldn't help but think that the Universitas Magistrorum might have something to do with it. Given, I don't have much evidence for this aside the Orbitis namecard (quoted below).
"O Almighty Sovereign, the Universitas Magistrorum has provided the predictions you requested: The two stars have been captured by the world's gravity... After a lengthy orbital period, today their paths shall intertwine once more." —Achievement: Orbits
The Khaenri'ahn Envoys – These envoys make an appearance in the quest Antigonus while the Traveler is in Enkanomiya. Along with a Ruin Guard, the Khenari'ahn delegation makes an appearance in Enkanomiya during the Archon War, right when the evacuation to the surface was happening. They were there to steal the book Before Sun and Moon. They don't have names, but they're worth adding as it's important to note that Khenari'ah did have delegates.
Antei: It was those people from Khaenri'ah. They were the ones who stole that library book. I was assigned as one of their bodyguards, sure, but there's no way I would have been in cahoots with them! Antei: I tracked their diplomatic team to this place and beat them all. Antei: But I spent a long time dealing with some giant mechanical creature they had with them. Finally, I was able to tear its core out, but I was wounded seriously in the process. Antei: The disabled machine crashed on top of the lost book. There's no way to retrieve it now.
Lastly, there are currently three splits in what I'd assume is the Khaenri'ahn army. (Guards? Military? Something like that.) There's the Schwanenritter, the Royal Guard, and the other part that Thrain commanded, which is, right now, still unnamed. Right now I'm sort of seeing them as two specialized types of trained infantry (and guards) and then all the rest. While we don't really know the connection between Thrain and the Schwanenritter, we know that he did not really interact with the Royal Guard. He mentions Dainsleif, but does not know him beyond that.
✱ There are sources that I've added to this pastebin, along with the sources for the images and some links to Jacob Boehme's work. (It's free! You can just read it!)
