I think it would have been heartwarming AND hilarious if we ever got a scene in which Clementine comes across a newspaper covering Lee’s trial… Clementine gets excited because she can have a picture of Lee to remember him by and she shows Whoever she’s with like “look! This is Lee he took care of me at the beginning of this and taught me how to survive, he’s my hero :,)” and the picture is a mugshot and the headline is just ‘University of Georgia history professor SLAUGHTERS state senator’ and the person she’s with is like 😟
