The subtle sting, a whispered phrase, a glance,
A microaggression, a slow, insidious dance.
Misogyny's shadow, a pervasive blight,
Stalking the modern woman, day and night.
No longer chained to kitchen, hearth, or loom,
She strides in boardrooms, breaking through the gloom.
Yet whispers follow, insidious and keen,
"Too ambitious," "too sharp," "too unseen. "
Her competence questioned, her voice drowned out,
While male counterparts bask in accolades, no doubt.
The double bind, a cruel and twisted game,
Too soft, she's weak; too strong, she's to blame.
In politics, the battleground rages on,
Her policies dissected, her character torn.
The scrutiny magnified, the bar set higher,
A constant struggle against a misogynistic fire.
In the workplace, the glass ceiling, sharp and clear,
A barrier invisible, yet ever near.
The pay gap yawns, a chasm deep and wide,
For equal work, less valued, pushed aside.
Online, a torrent of hate, a digital storm,
Body shaming, threats, a world utterly deformed.
Cyberbullying, a weapon swift and keen,
Leaving wounds unseen, yet brutally mean.
The pressure mounts, to be perfect, flawless, thin,
To conform to ideals, a losing battle within.
The expectation to balance career and home,
A crushing burden, leaving her alone.
In intimate relationships, the power play unfolds,
Control, manipulation, stories left untold.
Gaslighting, minimizing, belittling her worth,
Erasing her voice, silencing her mirth.
The impact lingers, a slow, insidious burn,
Anxiety, depression, a spirit worn.
Self-doubt creeps in, a poisonous vine,
Eroding her confidence, making her decline.
But resilience flickers, a defiant flame,
A sisterhood rises, whispering each name.
They stand together, voices strong and bold,
Challenging the norms, stories to be told.
For misogyny's grip, though strong and deep,
Cannot extinguish the hope women keep.
They fight for equality, for justice, for right,
To shatter the silence, and emerge into light.
This fight for liberation, a journey long and hard,
Demands empathy, understanding, a shared regard.
It calls for action, a change in the way,
We treat each other, every single day.
To dismantle the systems, the structures, the lies,
That perpetuate misogyny, behind judging eyes.
For only through unity, through strength and through grace,
Can women break free and reclaim their rightful place.
