Text
sam and dean occasionally having sex and it's not about conventional sexual attraction or desire, but as a last resort whenever their relationship is strained or when they need to feel closer. almost always drunk, with the lights off, after close calls, anything that might make it easier to make excuses to themselves whenever a memory is unburied. only happens when they're hurt or angry or scared, it's only ever close to tender when it's used as proof of being alive. sex as control and as punishment, when wanting to be inside your brother is less about the act, and more about taking ownership of what is rightfully yours. desperately seeking reassurance that you still have him, that you can keep him.

i love teen sam as a feral little animal. quiet, well-read, dorky, but if you try and smack him around he drops all pretences and becomes this horrific snarling thing. he'd have no sense of fight ettiquette either. i imagine there's more than a few bullies out there with crooked noses and fucked up teeth because it took a while for folks to realise they'd have to physically pull sam off before he'd stop

It really hits at me, the way that Sam and Dean talk about each other's deaths, or near deaths.
"Come back to me"
"I thought I lost you."
They very rarely say things like "I thought you were dead". Dean says " I couldn't live with you dead" and Sam says that Dean dies during the mystery spot episode, but that's not how they usually speak about it. Usually, they talk about it like the other has been stolen from them. I, me. The tone is possessive.
Idk. I don't know how to express it. But "I thought I lost you/Come back to me" something about that really affects me. "I thought I lost you. Come back to me." They belong to each other, they restake their claim on each other as a way to soothe and comfort and reassure.

You will think me cruel, very selfish, but love is always selfish; the more ardent the more selfish.
How jealous I am you cannot know.
You must come with me, loving me, to death; or else hate me and still come with me, and hating me through death and after.
Carmilla, Sheridan Le Fanu
