Really enjoyed this short about base jumping and wing suiting. It was exhilarating to watch and was very well filmed considering they were using go pro cameras.

Nice landscape film by Torje Sorgjerd. Nice use of lighting and timelapse. I think you can put any video with Ludovico Einaudi's music and it makes you feel something.

A skateboarding film directed by Nicholas Schrunk. This was extremely well edited. I particularly liked the way they intersected the old photos of the skateboarders when they were younger with the footage of them skateboarding now. They used a phantom camera to film the slowmotion sections which were sublime.

A film by Sebastien Desmedt. I works well because it shows a different side of New York. I also found it useful to see how he decided to use natural light at night in the city.

A short film by Vincent Laforet. It was all shot at night using natural light which I found very impressive and gave me some inspiration towards shooting a video at night. Some very nice compositions within the film and I felt that the story flowed well.

Just finished watching Heat (1995). I thought is was a great movie with Robert De Nero and Al Pacino playing their parts extremely well. To be honest I expected Pacino to be the baddy but i'll admit those preconceptions were based around Scarface. I loved the opening scene where De Nero is going down the escalator and they use a telephoto lens which flattens the whole image and gives a really nice effect. It was very well written and scripted. I was routing for De Nero the whole time so I was a little disappointed by the ending however the interaction between Pacino & De Nero made up for it.

A very well circulated short film by Eliot Rausch. I found this extremely moving, it did a really good job of communicating the sadness centered around loss of anything which you are attached too, whether it is an animal or a human that you loose, grief is a thing which everyone experiences in life and relates to at some point or another.

I often draw out concepts before I take them. I think it makes it easier to visualize the composition of the photo. I put together a few of the sketches I did before each photograph, so you can see how the final product compares to the original sketch. Just thought it might be interesting haha :)
