“I like ta think I raised her as an open-minded, forward thinkin’ girl. Her Ma knew I was gay from day one. It was.. kind of a set up sorta thing. Both our families wanted us ta settle down, we just decided to go with it. Had an arrangement. We could both sleep with whoever we wanted in our marriage, just as long as we used protection with everyone else.” He sighed as they started down the road.
“We only did anything with each other when we were bored or when our folks started pesterin’ us for kids. Straight sex ain’t terrible, it just ain’t my cup of tea.” He scratched his neck, watching the road. “I know Chrissy’s mine though and none of the other fellas she slept with. She looks like me. And you prolly aren’t gonna be the only new beau on this trip. Pat’s bringin’ her new boyfriend too.”
"Hey Red, ya got everything? I think we're 'bout ready to hit the road" Jack was loading up his truck with his things, calling to his boyfriend as they prepared to head out to his brother's ranch for the weekend. It was an important trip, at least to him it was. Most of his family knew he was gay (though most of them just tolerated it at best), but his daughter didn't yet and this was when he was finally going to be telling his baby girl the truth and introduce Nick to the family.
Nick had just pushed the cooler filled with lemonade, water and sandwiches in the cabin. He stepped back and grabbed his duffelbag, only to throw it in the back. “I hope so.” He said and smiled at Jack, leaning in and giving him a quick kiss on the lips. Nick went back to the cabin and climbed in, letting Jack to secure the load.
Nick was a little nervous. The last time he was introduced to a family as a partner, things turned a little sour. Not only that, Jack was about his baby girl that she got an extra dad, instead of a new mom. That was going to be quite the shocker.

The Demo finished tying everything down and making sure nothing would fall out before getting up in the drivers seat, smiling at his boyfriend before starting up the car. He’d double-checked everything and they were good to go. It was a bit of a long haul but nothing they couldn’t handle.
“God I hope this goes alright. I’d like ta think my little girl will love me no matter what, but it still ties my stomach in knots, y’know? She deserves ta know though. I don’t want ya to be a stranger to my family. I love ya, which makes ya as much a part of the family as any other in-law.”

((So lately I’ve been thinking about changing Jack’s faceclaim, his current one doesn’t seem to fit him anymore now that he’s ended up less gruff and more “team dad”.
I was thinking about changing him to this fella:

“I’m fifty-seven, ain’t quite a senior yet.” Jack chuckled with a sigh, glancing at the man and seemingly unbothered by the touches.
“Well, I reckon it’s because you’re real nice ta look at. You’re an attractive man an’ if I weren’t taken, I’d prolly go inta more detail.” He snickered. “So dare I ask what yer doin’ over here on RED, spook? Other than usin’ old Demomen as armrests.”
“Da, da I do! But right now I do charity vork by spending time vith senior citizen.” He chuckled, resting his chin on the other’s head as he continued to look up at the sky. At the mention of him being pretty, yet again he might add, the Russian perked up and looked at the other with a curious expression. “Pretty? You know, I hear often, am beginning to vonder vhy it is said by anyvun other than myself.”

“Kinda. It seems a little darker, but that ain’t what I’m talkin’ about. For some reason it only happens in Autumn but if ya stare long enough, the sky starts ta seem deeper. It used ya be more flat, but now it’s like a clear pool. Like if you were close enough, it seems like you could dip your hand in it.” He reached up towards the sky a moment before shaking his head and finishing his cigarette.
“Eh.. I reckon I’m jus’ bein’ an’ old fart. Pretty fella like you prolly got better things ta do than listen to me ramble.” He snickered, sticking out his tongue.
“Vhat?” His gaze was quickly directed at the sky, squinting up at it as he tried to understand what the other could have meant. Americans and their sayings, maybe it meant the hamburger crops were in season or something. “Bah, I do not see.” He replied. “You are talking color? Look same, not so bright.”

“I wouldn’ say I’m bored, just content and contemplative. Don’ mind a little company though.” He chuckled, taking a drag from his cigarette as he looked up.
“Is it just me or does th’ sky seem deeper in the fall? It always seems to have more depth to me.”
“Hm?” He looked down at the other, idly flicking his cigarette away before folding his arms and leaning on the other. “I just happen to see very bored armrest. I come to give you my company, is very gracious of me, da?” He chuckled.

“Eh, I’m used ta it, but I grew up ‘bout four hours from here. Fall’s still gonna be nice though.” Jack chuckled, eyeing the Spy and obviously amused as being used as an armrest.
“Can I help ya with something, fella? Or just enjoyin’ the view?”
“Hm.. Looks like the season’s finally startin’ ta turn. Fall’s gonna be nice.” He was having a smoke outside, enjoying the cooling weather with a content expression.

“I beg your pardon?” Jack blinked at the Spy, about to light up a smoke. “Uh.. Does that mean ya want one?”

If you are a TF2 Demoman RP’er, and want to go on a list of them, please reblog this post, no depth perception needed.
In the tags, or in a comment, please say if you’re a RED, BLU, NO SET/DIFF. Team, or a MULTI-MUSE. (multi-muse overrides color but you can put both if you want. Team pride and all that.)
Also note if your muse is a FEMMERC, NOT FULLY HUMAN, or BOTH.
If you’re not sure what to tag, go with your gut. It can always be changed later.
If you just want to boost this post, but don’t want to be on a list, please tag it with “Not me”, “Not it”, “Boost”, or don’t tag it at all.
Any untagged/uncommented reblogs will have to be ignored.
You can find the list here.

“Hey, up to you kid. I’m goin’ either way.” He chuckled at the Scout. “If it helps any, the name’s Jack, local bomb-specialist extraordinare and champion of really bad puns.”
He had a warm grin on his face as he offered his hand. “If ya don’t want dinner, I can at least introduce myself so maybe it won’t be so weird next time I see ya.”
Joey shoves his hands in his pockets defensively, giving the man a skeptical once-over. He’s learned to be leery of these hospitable types, always so kind and giving until the time comes to cash in on their generosity. But God, it’s hard to say no to a free meal.
“Yeahhh, I… dunno if I like the idea a’ goin’ offbase with somebody I never so much said two words to before.”
