Just finished The Secret History for the millionth time and I realised that Bunny’s death affected Henry more than Richard let on.

They were the closest out of the group and even Henry states that he knew Bunny best.

I feel like as much as Henry wanted to feel powerful by pushing Bunny, at the funeral he realised that Bunny was never coming back.

I know most people don’t like to talk about Bunny and Henry’s friendship…but apart from Bunny being the only one to make Henry smile, I would like to remind everyone that Bunny was the only person with a spare key to Henry’s apartment and Henry didn’t like having people over.

So if that doesn’t explain their friendship before everything happened I don’t know how to convince you that they actually were happy.
