Another edit: saw some critique of this trend that I think is pretty valid actually, and I want to say that, while yes, I also was fed up with people who constantly insist on misgendering Kris majorly as a boy, which actually motivated me to draw this,

I actually planned this outfit out a few days before the new chapters released, and before I was really aware of this trend specifically.

I actually think Kris is quite a fashionable character, and since there is chapter 2 flavour text about them possibly wanting to branch out their clothing options, I made a bunch of style savvy outfits for them that I thought they might like to wear, but I ended up never really having enough motivation to draw them.

What I want to say is, that sadly yes, my motivation to finally start this piece specifically was kinda out of spite, but I actually genuenly think Kris just looks cool in skirts (and various other clothing), and I hope this doesn't dampen your enjoyment of this artwork.

From now on, I want to make more art of them in skirts ect. just because I think it looks cool on them.

I love Stardew Valley, it's such a comfortable game to play, but the plot feels a little light at times. I bet it would be more compelling if the farmer had amnesia, crippling substance dependence and was suffering so much mental degradation that he thought his clothes were speaking to him.
