Tears in the Desert: A Poem of Isolation and Inner Struggle
A Journey Through Isolation This poem uses vivid and contrasting imagery to depict a fall from a state of privilege into a personal “ditch,” marked by internal struggle and a profound sense of being unanchored. The “tears in the desert” metaphor powerfully conveys the feeling of internal suffering in a seemingly barren emotional landscape. Tears to DesertObtained confidence, privileged until I…

Underground Hip-hop Artists to Watch in 2025
I. Introduction: The Golden Era’s Torchbearers – Finding Hope in 2025’s Underground For those of us who came up on the raw, unfiltered essence of hip-hop, who remember when every bar was a sermon and every beat a heartbeat, there’s often a lingering question: Is the true spirit of the craft still alive? Many discerning listeners, steeped in the “golden era,” lament what they perceive as a shift…

More Than Just Rhymes: Hip-Hop's Powerful Lyrical Queens
Hip-hop’s story often spotlights its male icons, a narrative that frequently leaves essential women in the shadows–women who were fiercely present from the genre’s birth, rocking mics, commanding turntables, and shaping the very culture. Make no mistake, their path was steeper, fraught with extra hurdles like pervasive sexism and crushing expectations about how they should look and sound. Yet,…

Unique aspects
Which aspects do you think makes a person unique? Staying true to yourself, cause nobody experiences things, events, and conditions you’ve been through. So, being an authentic version of yourself will make everyone unique, and differentiate from the crowd. They say that nothing is original, but the total collection of moments we live in, and their harmonic combination is enough to make everyone…

One Word - BALANCE
What is one word that describes you? I like to think that I am a kind person, but all come with opposite, countermeasures. I tend to do things from the ground up, to be fundamental, but, again, time is a relevant factor. So, at the end of the day, if I gotta choose one word it will be BALANCE.

What bores you? I find myself getting overwhelmed when I’m asked a barrage of questions. It’s like being in a dimly lit room with a single, swinging light, trying to satisfy an eager investigator. I understand the curiosity, but I’m not an endless source of information like a search engine. I have a limited capacity for answering questions, and it would be more productive for both of us if we…

Book to read
What books do you want to read? Rakim’s “Sweat the Technique” is next on my list. His influence on hip-hop is undeniable, and I’m looking forward to gaining insights into his creative process. As a fellow poet, I’m always seeking inspiration and guidance from the greats. Has anyone else read it? What were your key takeaways?

First computer
Write about your first computer. My first computer was a trusty Toshiba Satellite. It was a real workhorse, but it’s definitely showing its age now. The fan is so loud that it sounds like a helicopter is landing in my living room, and it can barely handle more than one tab at a time. I’ve been told it’s not worth fixing, but I can’t bear to part with it. It’s like an old friend.
