He's playing his cards uniquely, you can be certain of that.  It's got Papa Pepita in quite a bind. For a moment, I was quite certain I saw him get nervous. 

Ace performer...? I'll. Be sure not to let it interfere with my performance. I'm sure you're exaggerating my importance, but I can't disagree. I'll be doing everything in my power to come out on top.

In my current position, however, that's looking easier than it ever has been.

It certainly is an interesting way for things to be going. It almost makes me wonder what exactly Markovic might be sitting on to bring about such change. Hm. Though the fact that the Circus wouldn’t even be able to run without him might just be enough.

Don’t insult me like that. My memory hasn’t rusted in our time apart, we’ve had this discussion before.  Regardless, I’m placing my hopes on the fact that you wouldn’t be stupid enough to starve yourself during such a pivotal moment in the circus’ development. You’re the ace performer after all, being malnourished would only put the rest of the troupe in danger.

And I’m sure we both know you’d rather be anything than a disappointment.

It's interesting watching him slowly gain leverage against Papa Pepita. It's caused some stir amongst the ranks. There are very few of us who really know what's going on, however. 

For the record, I always eat properly. What on Earth gave you that idea?

That certainly would line up with his usual way of going about things. Seems as though Markovic might be getting a hang for this sort of thing, how quaint.

And what of you, Arikov. Might you be eating properly these days. I would think given how things are there would be little need in starving yourself.

It seems that he is. We're actually getting rooms now. We won't have to sleep out in tiny tents with hammocks, or dismantle them all in the rain. 

I'm quite excited for it. I think the last time I slept in a bed was actually at that hotel. And with our new venue, our performances are going to have some entirely new aesthetics.

Markovic seems happy about the change, too. I suspect this was all his doing.

I see. It certainly makes sense, a move would be inevitable given the current living conditions the lot of you are dealing with.

However if he isn’t planning on improving your living conditions whilst in the midst of all this, then I’d say the whole ordeal would be rather pointless. Spending a lot of money simply to get a group from point A to point B, it hardly makes sense. 

If he’s doing this, he had best be thinking of what should be improved in all aspects of your performances.  Which, as it happens, includes living conditions.

Papa Pepita was already considering changing venues to one better equipped to our needs. Right now, ours is a large but mostly empty plot of land that we have a lot of tents and a few buildings on.

Though I hear he received certain pressures from various parties to provide performers with better living conditions.  There's been some debate.

Moving, hm? I wasn’t aware there was a need for such a thing. Mind if I ask what prompted this? Moving the entire circus sounds like a bit of an undertaking.

I had a feeling that would be the case. We'd often entertained the possibility of inviting you to the circus, but felt as if it would be best not to bother you without too good a reason. Especially whilst we're moving.

If you ever get the time whilst you rebuild your estate, you should come visit us. I'm sure the troupe would be happy to see you.

A skill, sure, if you could call it that. Do you even need to question how I’ve been? One such as myself has time for little else than absolute perfection in all aspects of life. The Togami Estate is rapidly reaching a livable condition, and I’ve started making moves on expanding the Togami name ever still.

Everything is going exactly as I’ve planned it. Unsurprisingly.
