A Five Nights at Freddy's Hoax About a Thrice-Scrapped Character (Part 2: Tales from the Pizzaplex Hoax Characters)

Gabriel "Gabe" Vawdrey
Tumblr media
It seems that Remie believes in FNaF 3 2023, but if you think it’s in 2015, you only need to change his age.
Gabriel "Gabe" Vawdrey is the protagonist of this story. He’s an elderly widower who lives alone and runs a hardware store. He has a son named Jacob, with whom he is estranged. Jacob now lives with his wife, Michelle, and their two children—Gabriel’s grandchildren—Franklin and Catherine.
Since it’s implied that the Missing Children Incident occurred on the day of his 30th birthday, it can be assumed that he was born around June 26th, 1955. During his high school years, he met his future wife, Lorraine, and his best friend, Garth Gerrish. While Garth has remained his closest friend to this day, Lorraine passed away from what appears to be an unspecified illness in the 80s.
During his time at the Fazbear Entertainment locations, he came across individuals who, although never mentioned by name, are clearly identifiable—based on descriptions and events—as William Afton, Henry Emily, and Edwin Murray.

Physical Appearance: In his youth, Gabriel had brown hair and blue eyes with long, curled eyelashes, which he tried to offset with facial hair to "avoid looking feminine." He inherited them from his father, and later, his son did as well. As he aged, his hair turned gray, his eyelashes lost their length, and his facial hair became sparser. Due to an accident, his left forearm bears scars left by the metallic components of a springlock animatronic suit. In a photograph, he is seen wearing a beige sweater over a navy blue shirt and matching pants.
In Remie Gaskin's drawings, he is depicted with tan skin, presumably to resemble someone mentioned later in this post.

An interesting detail is the color scheme of his clothing, described in one part of the story as beige and navy blue—both neutral colors. Although briefly mentioned, this outfit seems to align with his involvement in Fazbear Entertainment’s major events; he neither directly influenced nor triggered any significant occurrences in the franchise. In illustrations, Remie Gaskin depicted him wearing brown shoes, another neutral color—though this may have been chosen to match Michael’s and his neighbors' footwear in the fifth game.
Another noteworthy point is that if his story had not been discarded, and if we only take into account the FNaF 3 2023 theory, he would have been the longest-living protagonist across all the literary media, at least until September 2024 (when I finished the document with all the information), surpassing the 64-year-old Edwin from The Storyteller (Tales from the Pizzaplex #5: The Bobbiedots).

Chappy Munk

Chappy Munk is the main antagonist of the story. Like several others, he is a new animatronic that makes his debut in a book.

According to what is suggested, Chappy Munk was created as a springlock suit in the 70s. He was one of the first animatronic characters made by Henry.
Between 1978 and January/February 1979, it was decided that he would be introduced as the third mascot at Fredbear’s Family Diner, serving as a waiter while Fredbear and Spring Bonnie performed on stage. The automaton was available for only one day during a birthday party, as Gabriel Vawdrey—one of the establishment's engineers—was forced to wear the suit under the threat of being fired. During the event, the suit’s springlocks failed, so he was taken to a safe room to attempt to remove it. The man survived but was left with scarring and permanent marks on one of his forearms due to the springlocks. Because of this, the hybrid suit was stored in a safe room within the diner. Some time later, it was moved to Edwin Murray’s residence along with seventeen other characters.

Physical Appearance: Chappy Munk is described as a life-sized beige chipmunk animatronic with a lighter-colored belly, Capri blue eyes, small round ears, and two prominent front teeth characteristic of the animal he represents. He wears a navy blue vest and a matching bow tie with black buttons underneath. While his forearms, hands, and waist remain beige, he has a layer of white paint on the collar of the vest, shoulders, and arms. During Gabriel's nightmare in the hospital, his eyes turn green, and his entire body, along with its openings, becomes covered in a black liquid.

Speculations & Theories: While his whereabouts are uncertain, it is highly likely that he ended up in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, beneath the Mega Pizzaplex. This is because Murray took him to his factory, and as shown in The Mimic story and the Tales from the Pizzaplex epilogues, the suits he had were taken by Fazbear Entertainment’s team at the end of the year. He may have been present when The Mimic killed all of Lucía’s friends in the epilogues.
The fact that it has a color scheme identical to the protagonist's attire at a certain point in the story establishes a connection never before used in the books (only in the movie, with Steve Raglan wearing a yellow shirt and purple tie). Being made up of neutral colors may represent the same thing as Gabe: an animatronic that has been part of Fazbear’s since the beginning but did not intervene significantly. This color scheme can also be seen in William Afton and Eleanor/Agony. Actually, the fact that Eleanor is the true antagonist of this story works as a counterpart to Vawdrey, as she was also present and witnessed several events in FNaF's history, but her intervention was indeed negative.

Jacob Vawdrey
Tumblr media
By Remie Gaskin
He is Gabriel's son and the deuteragonist of the story. He was born between 1976 and 1977. Perhaps the most important thing about him is a theory that was taken as fact in the group and supported by Remie, which is that he is Plushtrap Kid, the child who holds Plushtrap and whom Crying Child encounters in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. This is speculated because it is mentioned that when the protagonist first worked at a Fazbear location (Fredbear's Family Diner), he gave his son a toy of one of the mascots, which ended up biting his fingers, and years later, it was in Franklin’s possession. This connects to that child in the fourth game, as he tells Bite Victim that his father warned him to be careful with the toy because it was a finger trap. Additionally, his appearance matches the description given in the book: brown hair and blue eyes like his father’s. The same goes for his age, as he would be six or seven years old in 1983.
“Where's your plush toy? Mine is Spring Bonnie. My Daddy says I have to be careful with him or I will pinch my finger. He is a finger trap, he says.”
— Spring Bonnie Plush Kid, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, Night 3.

If this story had been real, several theories and assumptions about this character would have been debunked. These include the idea that he is Sammy Emily; one of the MCI children, or one of the DCI children… as well as more plausible assumptions, such as him being Toy Girl’s brother, Freddy Bully’s brother, or even the theory that he is actually a girl due to his heart-emblazoned shirt. Regarding this last point, some argue that his curled eyelashes—similar to his father’s—could be a reference to the fact that, despite being a boy, he wears a shirt like that, something that in the 1980s would have been more commonly seen on a girl. One of the most outlandish theories is that, because of his eyelashes, he was raised as a girl—similar to David Reimer. This would explain his heart-emblazoned shirt in the fourth game.
Leaving that aside, the fact that he was one of the co-founders of the horror attraction leaves many things open to interpretation, such as: What was he thinking when he found Springtrap? Though this applies to the entire team involved, one of them being Phone Dude. Also… why would he work in an attraction based on things his father suffered through? Could this be another reason why Gabe distances himself from him and refuses to reunite? This is never clarified in the story, so perhaps the author of this hoax didn’t even consider it...

Garth Gerrish
Tumblr media
By Remie Gaskin
Vawdrey’s best friend since childhood. He is described as a man with green eyes who once had blonde hair; he is married and has a son. During the protagonist's mourning, he mentions that they used to go to bars to try not to think about Lorraine's death, not necessarily because of the alcohol, but because talking to him helped clear his mind. They even remained friends into their old age.

Gabriel & Garth in the ‘80s. By McBadDrawings.
During his teenage years, Garth was one of the most handsome guys in high school; although, for some reason that Gabriel never understood, he never hung out with the popular groups, instead always preferring to go his own way. It’s something the protagonist describes as a “rare case for his time”.
This character breaks a structure found in FNaF books: a father protagonist having a friend. In stories like The Mimic, The Cliffs (Fazbear Frights #7: The Cliffs), and Bunny Call, the protagonists don’t have close friends, and their only close relationships are with their children or wives. Even in almost all stories that are protagonized by children and teenagers, their father figures don't seem to have friendships.
His friendship is somewhat reminiscent of Delilah and Harper's in 1:35 A.M. (Fazbear Frights #3: 1:35 A.M.) and Payton and Marley's in Pizza Kit (Fazbear Frights #9: The Puppet Carver).

Gabriel & Garth in the 2020s. By McBadDrawings.
Gerrish seems to follow the structure of another type of character in these books: The advisor. These are secondary or tertiary characters who give advice to the protagonists when they face a problem, and in several stories, they are the ones who encourage the main characters to take important actions or make decisions crucial to the story. Examples of this would be Father Jeremiah in Frailty and Mr. Devereaux in Out of Stock (Fazbear Frights #2: Fetch). He also serves as the emotional support for the protagonist in a difficult moment, fitting into the same category as Jeanie in Coming Home (Fazbear Frights #4: Step Closer) or Gillian Henderson in The Real Jake.

Franklin and Catherine Vawdrey
Tumblr media
They are Gabe’s grandchildren and the children of Jacob and Michelle. He only saw them twice in his life. Both children have their parents' blue eyes. Franklin, unlike his ancestors, does not have curled eyelashes. It is also mentioned that the plush of one of Fredbear’s mascots, which his father owned, ended up in his possession. As for Catherine, it is mentioned that she has reddish-brown hair, just like her mother.

A Five Nights at Freddy's Hoax About a Thrice-Scrapped Character (Part 1: Introduction & Tales from the Pizzaplex Hoax)
In December 2023, a user named "Remie Gaskin" uploaded three .docx files to a small Facebook group for Five Nights at Freddy’s fans. These documents discussed the scrapped and later repurposed involvement of a single character, with each of the three files placing him in a different continuity within the franchise.
Although the character retained certain traits—such as always being named “Gabriel”—his role and backstory changed to fit the established lore of each continuity.
According to the contents of these documents, the character was originally intended to be a secondary character in the novel Five Nights at Freddy's: The Fourth Closet (2018), but was ultimately scrapped. Five years later, he was reportedly reworked as the protagonist of Athazagoraphobia, the third story in Tales from the Pizzaplex #9: Athazagoraphobia, though the book was never released. Finally, he was planned to be one of the main characters in the upcoming franchise’s second movie.
As expected, the information in those three documents turned out to be false. Although the writing style and descriptions were so detailed that they could almost have come from the mind of FNaF creator Scott Cawthon, there was no reliable evidence to support their authenticity. This contrasted with many real leaks, which generally spread quickly. In fact, some of the details mentioned seemed more fitting for a fanfic.
Despite all this, several members of the group believed them and created a Discord server to speculate and form theories around the documents. However, when Remie Gaskin posted the third and final file—the one about the movie—his credibility was lost. This led to a lot of hate directed at the user, prompting him to delete his account along with the three posts. Presumably, these files are still saved on the computers of some group members, who are currently inactive. Nevertheless, much of the information from the first and third hoax files was recovered, along with a summary of the Athazagoraphobia story, as well as fan speculations and theories.
I’ve written a lengthy document (43 pages, to be exact) with all the information about this case. However, to make it less tedious for you, I’ll summarize the most relevant and interesting details in this post.
Additionally, I commissioned several artists to illustrate some stuff of these hoaxes. Their names are listed beneath each artwork. Be sure to support them! They are incredibly talented, and without them, this document wouldn’t be nearly as engaging.

Although it is the second document, I decided to present it first because it is the most worked on of the three. It even contained drawings… somewhat questionable… made by Remie Gaskin, at least according to him. Unlike the other versions, here our character named “Gabriel Vawdrey” is the protagonist. In this hoax, the topic discussed is Athazagoraphobia, which would be the third story in the nonexistent book Tales from the Pizzaplex #9: Athazagoraphobia.

The story revolves around the protagonist’s struggle to overcome his troubled past and reconnect with his son and the remaining members of his family. It's confirmed that the events take place one month after the fire at Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction. That incident sets the story in motion, as it triggers Gabriel’s nightmares and night terrors about his past. This past is what makes this story truly interesting: Through analepsis, we learn that he was an engineer who worked at various Fazbear Entertainment locations, and it's suggested that he was present during several of the tragic events that took place in them.
When Vawdrey dies, he finds himself in a dark void where he can't see anything. After some time, he hears the voice of a child who introduces himself as “Jacob” and asks him to follow, holding his hand. Believing it to be his son as a child, Gabe complies. This is because when Gabriel was young and his grandfather passed away, his Catholic mother told him that Saint Peter would guide his grandpa to the gates of Heaven—so in that moment, he thought that’s exactly what was happening to him—only this time, it's his own son leading him.
His "son" takes him to a place where he has a vision. In it, he witnesses the moment Jacob is born—an event so joyful that it causes him to begin “ascending.” Suddenly, and unexpectedly, he comes back to life. With this second chance, he chooses to live a life more connected to his family.
