if I ever strike gold and end up writing a popular book series i'd love to keep an eye on the fandom to determine the smallest crackship and make that the only one that goes canon

Plume.
About 14” tall, constructed using repurposed material found mostly on the shoreline.
My sweet girl. Based on plumed worms and the reinforced tubes that they use to protect themselves.
—
And based on some other feelings too, as per usual. The events of my life have led me to a mindset where I look at animals that cover themselves (the plumed worm, caddisfly larva, the bone collector caterpillar) and I think, “that’s sick. I wish I could do that too.”

☀you are cast out from the heavens to the ground☀
Getting back on the commissions grind. It's always a joy to get to do something that's a little more heavy on the linework and gives me the chance to bust out the dip pen and ink. Thank you! @syntheticninjas 🖤🥀

Carnivorous Lamb
6 x 9 inch intaglio etching with chine-collé using found paper.
I did something like 8 or 9 prints using this plate, some of which I still have, some of which are on display, and some of which I've given away. I love the intaglio printing process a lot, but the physicality of it (filing down plate edges, sanding, prepping the surface, so on) has been difficult for me lately.
I wish I had taken more process pictures, but all I've got on hand anymore is this one of the plate with ground applied and etched into. The etched plate was then dipped in acid to eat away at the bare areas, which then creates lines when ink is applied. Fun stuff.

Still ill, still recovering from burnout, still recovering from two deaths close to me (one upsetting, and one much less so), focusing what little creative energy I have on making booklets and scrappy zines.
We still get junk mail addressed to my late abusive uncle. I’ve been taking it and making it into other things. This one is full of Harley Poe lyrics that either just stick in my brain, or that feel apt for my thoughts on the whole... situation.

Did I seriously forget to post pictures of my son on here… During April I got to carve a sculpture out of a big block of plaster - everything from building the mold to mixing and pouring plaster, transporting the block and buckets and all that here and there, demolding, and then going at it with hammers and chisels and the like. It was extremely sweaty and gratifying work.
The final work is a little over 13” tall and I did really enjoy carrying it like a baby whenever I needed to transport it somewhere.
Right now he’s sitting in a display case somewhere under the moniker “Toddler”, but I’ll probably be bringing him home sometime during September. ♥️ 🐛
Some pics of his conception below ⬇️

💉 I’m as open as a gutted pig. 💉
Screwing around on a friend’s iPad, trying to figure out how to render using a very bad default oil brush that made me want to scream.

A weaving/painting experiment ive been wanting to do for a while now… it didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted. Maybe next time I’ll try drawing on vellum, or something else with some translucency to it?

Problem Dog won 1st place in the category of Printmaking, 2D Design, and Color Theory at my college’s annual student art exhibition this past Thursday. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 It’s a very surreal feeling.

Problem Dog
December 2024
Silkscreen print on 18x21” reclaimed desk drawer.
(+ Gauze, self adhering bandage, stickers, magnet strips, packing tape, cardboard, acrylic, oil pastel, ink, colored pencil, graphite, watercolor, salt.)
It’s about domestic violence and it’s about emotional abuse and it’s about substance abuse and it’s about fear, and it’s about living with all of the above for ~20 years while being told to grin and bear it, and then having the source of it all up and die in my house without consequences or closure.
Some process things below the cut.

These cyanotypes I did while in Nevada did not turn out, but you know what did turn out? The prints I did on top using some scrap lino. Saved it.

I’ve been meaning to ask this for legit years but didn’t want to offend you in the Ghost BC events server. Is Lead Ghoul trans? I sorta got the feeling he might be cuz in the second fic of the collection it sounds like he’s having dysphoria and is surprised to see his own face in the mirror. It’s the same thing that I deal with even though I’m transitioned I still get surprised to see that I’m different now in the way I wanted.
I was real morose about my health conditions worsening back then (2018?) and was writing an escapist fantasy about a character leaving behind their human identity (fragile, weak, painful) in favor of becoming a ghoul (stronger, durable, long lasting), and after that, being found attractive by the subject of his affections. Like the whole “being put through a taboo and painful ritual and coming out the other side as something Better, and being desired and cared for because of it, not in spite of it.” was something I wrote a lot about when trying to figure out my health & decades long chronic pain.
So, when I came up with Lead’s whole deal, I didn’t intend to be writing something that can be read as a trans narrative. But when it’s laid out so plainly like that, the “this is MY body and I want to live within it peacefully” similarity is kind of undeniable, right? Lol
I don’t mind that he can be read that way + don’t find it offensive at all. There are some things written and drawn about being transgender that are relatable when looking at it from a disabled perspective, so I suppose only makes sense that the reverse can be true, too.
Anon I accidentally saved this as a draft. Please come back
