"We don't have the power to stop our                extinction" says Paola Antonelli curator of MoMA museum in New York
Humans will inevitably become extinct due to environmental breakdown, but we have the power to design ourselves a "beautiful ending". Paola Antonelli opened a major exhibition in Milan called "Broken Nature" that showed the Earth without humans.
NATURE IS GIVING US SIGNALS THAT WE CANNOT IGNORE MUCH LONGER
1-AGRICULTURE
According to "All Good Market" magazine in UK, we only have 60 harvests left as of 2014. Globally, we're destroying top soil at a rate of 1-3cm each year. In UK, we've lost 84% of our fertile top soil since 1850.
Humans have farmed for the past 12,000 years and we may now only have half a century left of this way of life
2-FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRIES
Fossil fuel powerful lobbys seem to be controlling the fight against climate change as no real progress has been accomplished since the first UN summit in Berlin in 1995. As of today, only Norway, the biggest oil producer in this part of Europe, has implemented some measures to curb global warming.
During the COP 26 in Glasgow Scotland, 503 fossil fuel lobbyists participated at the summit at the invitation of 27 countries including Canada, Brazil and Russia. It is obvious that these guys were not there to help and find solutions to the present climate crisis.
The oil industry is the most lucrative business on the planet and we subsidize them with $billions each year without asking anything in return. In 2019, the whole fossil fuel industry was supported with an average of $548 Billions each year.
At the beginning of the 80's, Shell and Exxon admitted that their products were responsible for the increase of GHG on the planet and it was confirmed later by Rex Tillerson CEO of Exxon at the time.
If the fossil fuel industries admitted that they're responsible for a large part of the problem, therefore they should be part of the solution to do something before it's too late.
Tumblr media
Fossil fuel industries have reserves left in oil and natural gas for the next 50 years and coal for at least 114 years and rest assured that they will use all of it until the end and it's not the fight against climate change that will stop them.
3-DURING THIS TIME, OUR PLANET IS ON FIRE
Tumblr media
As India is undergoing 2 months of extreme weather per year, the University of Hawaii estimates that 74% of the global population could face deadly heat waves before 2100 if Green House Gas (GHG) continue to increase at the current rate.
WILDFIRES
A direct result of heat waves is the increasing number of wildfires in all parts of the globe. In Europe only, the surface of forest burned to the ground has reached 600,000 hectares so far this year, a record since the first data collected in 2006.
4-RECORD DROUGHT IN ALL PARTS OF EUROPE
European countries are undergoing extreme heat waves. As result water level is going down at an alarming rate in rivers and reservoirs. In England people are wondering where the riverThames has gone.
In some regions of the globe, water resources depend mainly on snow melting. However with the anthropogenic climate change the water runoff will become less predictable for population who depend this water supply.
5-ICE MELTING
Tumblr media
The Earth has lost 28 trillions tons of ice in less than 30 years with an average of 1,2 trillion ton per year. Half of the glaciers of the world could disappear before 2100 as the current trend in global warming is not about to stop.
Our future depends heavily on glaciers to regulate the Earth's temperature, they are our cooling system. According to "Heidi Sylvestre of Futura Planet", if we are not able to control the rise of the GHG during the next 6 years we will pass the limit of 1,5 degree Celsius and, we're not able today to measure the consequences.
IT SEEMS WE'RE NOT ACCOMPLISHING ANY PROGRESS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE
According to the "International Energy Agency" the commitments taken during COP 26 to keep global warming temperature below 1,8 Celsius provoked a certain skepticism among the scientific community.
Many of these commitments need to be ratified by parliaments of most of the countries attending the summit which is quite uncertain as powerful fossil fuel lobbys already have influence over most governments on the planet.
6-INDUSTRIAL CHIMNEYS ARE TECHNOLOGY OF THE PAST AND IN VIEW OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS, IT BECOMES URGENT THAT WE FIND AN ALTERNATIVE
Tumblr media
Heavy industry makes products that are central to our modern way of life but is also responsible for nearly 40% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Steel, ciment and chemicals are the top three emitting industries and are among the most difficult to decarbonize, owing to technical factors like the need for very high heat and process emissions of carbon dioxide, and economic factors including low profit margins capital intensity. (BROOKINGS, Samantha Gross, June 2021)
If engineers can design and build industrial plants worth hundreds of $millions using equipments, processes and chemicals they sure can design and build an annex to the plant and use the same knowledge to capture, recuperate and process the toxic residues they're actually shooting up to the sky.
MESSAGE TO THE POLITICAL CLASS
Tumblr media
When more rivers will run dry as it does now, when the harvests will burn in the field because of steady drought and heat waves, when extreme weather will hit cities around the globe, when food and drinking water will become scarce, all those who keep stalling the fight against climate change simply to protect their asset will, finally realize that money is something they cannot eat.
Since 1995, governments have been sending TALKERS to the UN summits. "Talkers are usually more articulate than DOERS since talk is their specialty (T. Sowell). Enough with talking, we need action.
After 26 COP summits it is obvious than we cannot conduct a fight against climate change by working only 2 weeks in a year. What the planet needs is someone in charge on a full time basis who will go thru all the commitments taken recently by the participating countries.
Most commitments may take years to accomplish making legislation urgent.
Our own needs are compromising the legacy we are leaving to future generation. We must force our governments to change the actual trend. Let us be clear about something, we are the victims of Climate Change and our grandchildren will have to fight for food and water if nothing is done starting today.

We have a war to win......
Not the kind of war where people shoot at other people they don't know, not the kind of war where rockets destroy what men has built with their sweat, where bombs kill more civilians than military, or when a rogue country threatens to use nuclear weapons that would leave our planet on the brink of total destruction.
See what General Eisenhower had to say about war
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone, it is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hope of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.
No, the kind of war we have to get into is where nobody dies. Since the first COP in Berlin in 1995 we call it a fight against Climate Change or Global Warming while ignoring those who are responsible for the rising temperature caused by the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) still rising despite all recommandations suggested during the UN summits. The fossil fuel industry and other big polluters really don't care about the earth's temperature, they care about money.
After the Glasgow summit it should be the best time to call a Truce between all nations to give the go ahead on our mission to start a new way of life that will secure our future and our planet's as well. For the first time in history, we are all on the same side and have the same enemy and we need all hands on deck starting with big industries as well as the military.
The military including Defense Contractors already have the manpower, the logistic and the budget to operate on a matter of weeks or even days as they're often called when disaster strikes.
When soldiers will come back from climate change missions it will be on both feet with satisfaction of a job well done, not in a military casket and free from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
During COP26 hundreds of fossil fuel lobbyists flooded climate talks, 503 of them, invited and registered by 27 countries including Canada, Russia and Brazil.
Those lobbyists were not there to help in our mission to save our planet but to prepare roadblocks to slow down our fight against climate change.
The only way we can succeed in our mission is to cancel all future summits and force big polluters to reduce and eventually eliminate all GHG by passing legislation targeting fossil fuel industries, industries in general, transport and agriculture.
The bright side of all this is that it will create a new economy that will benefit all of us and remove a huge cloud above this planet for centuries to come.

The Earth is losing ice at an alarming rate and if nothing is done soon, human and animal life will be gone during the next century.....
Ice is our planet cooling system and without it we would experience extreme weather all year long. Since the first  Conference  des Parties (COP) in Berlin  in 1995 the level of Carbon Dioxide has increased by 55% worldwide with the effect of increasing the earth’s temperature enough to accelerate ice melting across the globe.
ICE IS MELTING 6 TIMES FASTER THAN 40 YEARS AGO IN ANTARCTICA CAUSING SEA LEVEL TO  RISE 1.8 METER BY 2100 FLOODING MANY COASTAL CITIES AROUND THE WORLD. FROM 1979 TO 1990 ANTARCTICA LOST 40 BILLION TONS OF ICE EACH YEAR AND FROM 2009 TO 2017 IT WAS  252 BILLION TONS EACH YEAR.
BETWEEN 1986 AND 2005 THE LOSS OF ICE IN THE ARCTIC WAS 160 BILLION TONS PER YEAR AND NOW IT IS  447 BILLION TONS,  4 TIMES THE PREVIOUS PERIOD.
DUE To EXTREME WEATHER, GROENLAND HAS LOST 286 BILLION TONS OF ICE IN 2018 AGAINST 137 BILLION TONS IN 2002.
DUE TO TEMPERATURE RISING FASTER IN CANADA THAN ANY WHERE INTHE WORLD, 80% OF GLACIERS IN THE ROCKIES WILL DISAPEAR DURING THE NEXT 50 YEARS.
ACCORDING TO “THE GUARDIAN” TWO-THIRDS OF GLACIER ICE IN THE ALPS WILL MELT BY 2100. IF EMISSIONS CONTINUE TO RISE AT CURRENT RATE, ICE WILL HAVE ALL BUT DISAPPEARED FROM EUROPE’S ALPINE VALLEYS BY THE END OF CENTURY.
TWO-THIRDS OF GLACIERS IN HIMALAYA COULD DISAPPEAR BY 2100 ACCORDING TO AFP KATMANDOU.
Tumblr media
IF WE KEEP LOSING ICE AT THIS RATE  EXTREME WEATHER WILL KICK IN MORE OFTEN. ICE MELTING AND EXTREME WEATHER ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR LIFE MISERABLE. THEY ARE THE MAIN CAUSE OF SEA LEVEL RISING PLUS THE FLOW OF MIGRANTS ALL ACROSS THE GLOBE WILL BE OVER 140 MILLION BY 2050.
IF YOU WANT A TASTE OF WHAT IS COMING IN THE NEAR FUTURE JUST GO TO SOMALIA AND SEE BY YOURSELF THE REALITY OF GLOBAL WARMING. SINCE 2018 THERE IS A SEVERE DROUGHT AFFECTING THIS COUNTRY WHERE 2.6 MILLION PEOPLE (15% OF THE POPULATION) ARE DISPLACED FROM RURAL TO URBAN AREAS WITH MOST OF THEM SUFFERING FROM MALNUTRITION.
IRONNICALY,THE POPULATION ONLY IS TO BLAME FOR THE CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE DAMAGE DONE BY Mother Nature WHILE THE WORLD POLITICAL CLASS STANDS IN SILENCE  IGNORING COMPLETELY   THE WARNINGS BY THE SCIENTIFIC WORLD. WHEN DISTASTER WILL STRIKE THESE GUYS ACTUALLY IN OFFICE WILL BE LONG GONE AND FUTURE GENERATIONS, THOSE WHO THEY REFER  TO  IN THEIR SPEECH AS “OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN”, WILL BE STUCK WITH A DYING PLANET.
THE LEVEL OF GRENHOUSE GAS (GHG) INCREASED BY 55% SINCE 1995 AND NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN BY ANY GOVERNMENT TO CURB THE EMISSION OF. CO2 IN THE ATMOSPHERE. TODAY, JAPAN AND CHINA HAVE SATELLITES MONITORING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM SPACE AND LATELY NASA INSTALLED EQUIPMENT ON THE “INTERNATION SPACE STATION TO DO THE SAME THING. IF WE HAVE  ALL THE DATA ON HOW GHG ARE TRAVELING AROUND THE PLANET WE’LL BE ABLE TO TRACE ITS ORIGIN AND WHERE IT SETS AND AFFECT SOME REGIONS INSTEAD OF OTHERS.
ALL INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE TO POLITICIANS TO  FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE STARTING TODAY BUT IT WILL NOT HAPPEN SOON AS THEY ARE CONTROLLED AND MANIPULATED BY THE FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY AND THEIR INVESTORS. GOVERNMENTS ARE CURRENTLY SUBSIDIZING THE OIL INDUSTRY WITH OVER 600 $BILLIONS EACH YEAR AND ALMOST NOTHING FOR CLEAN ENERGY IGNORING THE URGENCY OF THE POINT OF NO RETURN SET A 2030 BY THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY.
NATIONS ARE SPENDING $BILLIONS ON SPACE PROGRAMS REACHING FOR THE STARS AND OTHERS ARE GETTING READY FOR A WAR THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WHILE OUR OWN PLANET IS ON FIRE. WE ARE NOT AGAINST PROGRESS AND NEW TECHNOLOGY BUT WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR OWN SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF FUTURE GENERATIONS. TAXPAYERS’ MONEY IS CURRENTLY USED FOR CORPORATE GREED AT THE DETRIMENT OF THE WELL BEING OF THE ENTIRE POPULATION AT A TIME A TRANSITION TO CLEAN ENERGY IS DESPERATELY NEEDED.
Tumblr media
THE WORLD  DOESN’T NEED A WAR BETWEEN NATIONS THAT WILL KILL MILLION OF CIVILIANS, POLLUTION IS ALREADY KILLING 9 MILLION PEOPLE EACH TEAR 3 MILLION OF THEM CHILDREN. WHAT WE NEED NOW  IS ALL NATIONS GETTING TOGETHER AND FIGHT OUR COMMON ENEMY: CLIMATE CHANGE.
WE HAVE THE MONEY, THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE RESOURCES TO START DOING THE RIGHT THING TODAY, THE ONLY THING MISSING IS THE POLITICAL WILL, IF THOSE POLITICIANS IN PLACE ARE NOT MOVING WE ARE GOING TO REPLACE THEM WITH OTHERS WHO WILL INITIATE ACTIONS.

The  disappearance of most of the ice from the surface of the Earth is the biggest threat we will be facing in the near future if no action is taken soon......
Since 1998, we lost 28,000 billion tons of ice from the surface of the Earth and nothing seems to be slowing the trend as we have been losing 1,200 billion tons of ice each year for decades.
Since the first Conférence of the Parties (COP) in Berlin in 1995 the level of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) has increased by 55% worldwide with the effect of increasing the earth’s temperature enough to accelerate ice melting across the globe.
FUTURE CONSEQUENCES IF WE KEEP LOSING ICE AT THE CURRENT RATE:
1 - Rising sea level represents a slow  unstoppable threat   that will flood coastal cities around the world  forcing million of residents to migrate to higher grounds.
2 - Contamination of the natural habitat of all species living in oceans as higher water temperature and unsalted water are bad for fish.
3 - Warming of the oceans will alter currents including the Gulf Stream.
4 - According to AFP in Washington South East Asia that holds 1/5 of the world population will be inhabitable by the end of the century because of global warming affecting 1,5 Billion people who will have no place to migrate to.
5 - World Resources Institute find that 37 countries currently face extremely high levels of water stress, meaning that more than 80 percent of the water available to agriculture, domestic and industrial users is withdrawn annually therefore facing limited water supplies.
6 - A 2012 study demonstrate that when the climate gets warmer volcanoes have a tendency to be more active (German-American team)
7 - According to Futura, a group of scientists developed a computer simulation program and found that wildfires will last another 10 years before slowing down.
8- The greatest threat humanity will be facing by the end of this century is our food system which is the number one cause of climate change as we have only 60 harvest left according to the United Nations. That includes the loss of fresh water, biodiversity, animals, pollinators, insects and even the microbiology of the soil.
ICE IS OUR SECURITY AND THE EARTH COOLING SYSTEM……….
If we keep losing ice at an alarming rate as we have been witnessing for decades, crops will burn in the fields and people will fight for food and water and only  the strongest will survive but not for long. Try to explain to your grand children that 60 years from now they will fight for food and water……..
As of today, nobody, no government, no scientist have been able to stop ice from melting at a rate of 1.2 trillion tons  each year and it cannot be done overnight by simply pushing a button.
WHO’S RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THAT MESS…….
1- The way we grow food, how we process it, transport it, prepare it and waste it today contributes about 50 percent of all Greenhouse gas (GHG). (Longevity Roadmap)
2- Electricity, heat production, industry, transportation that are using fossil fuel and other energy are responsible for the remaining 50 percent of GHG.
GOVERNMENTS SUBSIDIES TO FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY AND AGRICULTURE IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR GLOBAL WARMING…….
Governments provide on average $600 billion per year for agricultural support in the countries that generate two-thirds of the world’s agriculture.
As of 2019, G20 governments, representing the world’s major economies supported coal, oil and gas production and consumption by, on average $548 billion per year.
It is clear that these two industries have used their own powerful lobbys to solicit  governments to support their operations. The saddest thing about all that is that governments never asked anything in return for  these subsidies like cleaning up their act by reducing their impact on global warming.
AFTER 25 CONFERENCE OF THE PARTIES (COP) SPONSERED BY THE United Nations, IT SEEMS THERE’S NO SENSE OF URGENCY TO START ANY GLOBAL ACTION TO CURB GLOBAL WARMING.
LET’S START WITH THE FIRST STEP…….
NASA already sent two satellites in space  to monitor glaciers around the globe and scientists have been  measuring the most probable temperature increase to the end of the century so there is enough information to create a “computer simulation program” that can determine the point of no return when it will  be too late to stop the remaining of the  ice from melting.
The purpose of this computer  operation is to give a sense of urgency to the whole world so that every human being is aware of  a deadline that no one wants to miss if we want this planet survive another 4,5     billion years and sustain our way of life as we know it today…..
The reality is that our planet is a lot tougher than we are  as it went through a lot worse and it will survive and reinvent it self even if it takes thousands of years. This is all of us who will disappear with wildlife and marine species that don’t deserve it as they didn’t participate in the destruction of this beautiful planet.
WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR………
We have a war to win and we all have the same enemy, “global warming”. For the first time in history, we  all are on the same side. Our way of life is not sustainable actually and the more we wait the more difficult it will be to achieve our ultimate goal that is “to Make this Planet Blue Again”.  Glasgow will determine how successful  the coming years will be and let’s do it as if it was our last chance………

This planet belongs to all of us but in the name of progress industries are leaving it in such a state that by the end of this century Earth will give up on our civilization and start a new journey hoping to find better partners who will show more respect, even if it takes thousands of years......
The Earth is a lot tougher than we are. it has seen cold, extreme weather, darkness. But for thousands of years it has provided humanity and wildlife with clean air, fresh water, food and a way of life asking nothing in return except respect.
BUT FOR THE PAST 170 YEARS WE FAILED MISERABLY.
Yes, that's how long it took to destroy the work of 4,5 billion years and we keep doing it.
Since the first Conference of the Parties (COP) in Berlin in 1995, the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) has increased by 55% worldwide with the effect of increasing the Earth's temperature enough to accelerate ice melting across the globe.
It is Albert Einstein who said: "The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing nothing"
On the eve of the Glasgow summit in Scotland, 195 countries will get together with experts from the United Nations, governments and other organizations to discuss a plan of action to curb global warming and to achieve net zero by 2050 while keeping 1,5 degrees within reach.
COP26 GOALS:
Accelerate the phase-out of coal
Curtail deforestation
Speed up switch to electric vehicles
Encourage investment in renewables
Protect and restore ecosystems
Build defences, warning systems and resilient infrastructures and agriculture to avoid loss of homes, livelihood and even lives
All this cannot be possible without cleaning up the mess we have done during the industrial period, Here's a few exemple:
Cargo ships and cruisers have been dumping 14 billion pounds of garbage into the ocean since 1975.
The Mississippi River carries an estimated 1,5 million metric tons of nitrogen into the gulf of Mexico each year
AFP says that by 2100 152,000 will die each year in Europe due to extreme weather against 3,000 actually
AFP Geneva: World Health Organization (WHO) says that 2 billion people have only access to contaminated drinking water causing 500,000 deaths each year
What COP26 wants to accomplish may take a decade or more to achieve and cannot be done when a conflict is about to happen mainly when some countries are threatening to use nuclear weapons. For the first time in history we're all on the same side facing a common enemy, global warming, that can put an end to our civilization if no action is taken in the near future. That's why we need all hands on deck if we want to succeed in this mission.
The Glasgow Summit seems to be the best time to call a Truce between all nations. The military already have the manpower, the logistic and the budget to operate in a matter of weeks or even days as they're often called when disasters strike.
As the military rely heavily on Defense Contractors for equipment, warships, aircrafts. and logistics, it would be unwise not to take advantage of their engineers' talent to design and build what is needed to fight climate change. If these guys can deliver weapons of mass destruction they sure can come up with appropriate equipment to put an end to climate change permanently .
when soldiers will come back from climate change missions, it will be on both feet with the satisfaction of a job well done, not in a military casket and free from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Then we can say that a new economy is born.......and a new way of life.
