We are the Meyer’s
Hey y’all. If you’ve found our page, we can assume you already know us. If you don’t know us and somehow just happened to stumble on here, we’re grateful you’re here and hope you will join us in being part of our village as we move forward with adopting from Africa.. Lemme take this first post to just share a little about us and how we got here. Also, let me just apologize for the super long first post ... introductions are always the longest.
I’m Courtney, my husband’s name is Trevore we met playing soccer 8 years ago. We’ve been married for 5 years and we have a 2.5 year old named Beau. I came to know know Jesus when I was 16 and almost hand-in-hand, God put on my heart that some day I would adopt from Africa. When Trev and I met, that was a non-negotiable in moving forward in our relationship. Soo here we are 5 years later in marriage, ready to grow our family and moving towards adopting from Africa.
In the upcoming months we will have picked the exact country and agency that we will be moving forward with. We will also be beginning what they call a “home-study” (this takes about 3-4 months) this is where they basically decide if you’re suitable to be adoptive parents. I will update you all on the process as we are in it.
What we would currently ask of all of you is for prayer. Prayer for guidance, for wisdom, for knowledge, for our future child’s current and continued safety, for God to continue to give us a heart for the orphans, for the entire process and patience in the times of waiting and for Beau to move into being a big brother in the future.
We are so grateful for all of you and we look forward to sharing this journey with you. They aren’t lying when they say “it takes a village” and we are so glad to call all of you part of ours.
More posts to come in the future ... if you have any questions along the way, please reach out. Also, if you just so happen to know anyone that has adopted internationally ... please send them our way. God knows I have sooo many questions.
“Be on guard. Stand firm in faith. Be courageous. Be strong. Do everything with love”. -1 Corinthians 16:13
