Preview for my newest WIP

“Later that night, when I was trying to sleep, a man appeared to me in my room.” Antony leaned back against Gaël’s chest easily, seemingly more comfortable now that the bulk of the story- and likely the worst of it- was told. “He told me that he’d seen me fight, and he was impressed with my courage and valor, at the honor that I’d given my opponent where others might have only sought revenge for the harm he’d done them, glory in killing him.” That sounded like the Antony that Taran had started to know. His compassion and his care was what already marked him out. “He asked me if I wanted to live. I told him that I did, but only if my sister would be able to live her days in comfort and be provided for. Me saying that seemed to amuse him. He told me that it would be done and-” Antony flushed slightly before he shook his head. “He kissed me and that was it, he was gone.”

“What do you mean?” Taran asked, brow furrowed. “He just… left? How did he even find you or get into your room without you knowing about it?”

“That I found out later,” Antony admitted. “It was Mars who came to my room that night. He’s the one that made me what I am.” Antony gestured down at himself and slowly the pieces clicked into place.

“He made you immortal,” Taran clarified quietly, though it wasn’t exactly a question.

Antony nodded. “That he did.”

“Antony’s being modest,” Gaël murmured and brushed a soft kiss against his temple. Antony flushed and shot Gaël a sharp look that he promptly ignored. “Antony’s technically a god himself now.”

Taran wasn’t entirely sure how to process that. “A god?”

“Minor deity,” Antony corrected as if that was somehow less mind-boggling. “Any god can grant immortality to any being they choose. In any way that they choose.” Antony leaned out of Gaël’s hold so he could turn and lean back against the railing so he could face the twins completely. “Mars took a liking to me when he saw what I did and for whatever reasons he had, he granted me immortality by passing part of his essence into me.” Antony gave Gaël a sharp look. “Don’t say it.”

I love working on the design elements for my upcoming projects. Like making the books my own and what I want them to be is the best part of being a self-pub author

So I'm having to take down the link for the paperback of The King's Champion because there must have been a corrupted spot on the file and they're coming out misprinted in a couple of spots. I'm trouble-shooting the issue now and will be making sure that it doesn't continue in future copies.

I am both laughing and sweating because my grandma has started reading The King’s Champion and she told me that she really likes it and that the writing is really good. I just don’t know where exactly in the book she’s at and that makes me a little nervous 😅😅😅
