I CAN FINALY SAY “ I AM DONE “ 😌
Last but not the least blog about my JOURNEY in CATHAY PACIFIC,
for the past 3 months of placement, I’ve learned so many things eventhough I had health issues, family issues and many more that made me more weak and not been able to go to my placement, I still learned things and I will always bring whenever I go 😌
BIG THANK YOU TO MISS AVA for recruiting us and interviewing us for our placement, ofcourse to Boris, Frances & Francesco and all the Cathay Staffs. It was quites challenging for us to finish this Placement.
I can finally say;
“I can rest now”
“I am free now”
“I can graduate and get a stable job now”
All things will be all worth it at the end. Hopefully 🤞
Throughout this 3 months of placement I struggled a lot😭 I won’t deny it 😓 hahahahaha because it’s true, but it is okay we all passed it.
Thank you again CX FAMILY💙

My friend “BARBARA” 💙💙 I love working with her everytime we have a shift together☺️ A big thanks to her because I learned so much to her. She’s the one who trained me in the Kiosk she helped me so much in our placement 😆 We’re always having fun, sometimes if one of us go to Wendy’s to buy some food to eat before our shifts starts, it is so fun to work with the people who is nice to you😌

It was quite very challenging night shift tonight😩 the SSBD wasn’t working at all, we had a full flight as well. I panicked did not know what to do because it was my first time working, without the SSBD working.. 🤔 What I did is, I stand in front of the counters helping the Cathay staffs to check in the passengers by guiding which counter to they need to go, the worst part is the the SSBD for the counters keep stopping as well so we need to put the luggages on the side and just wait for the SSBD for it to worked. Thank God an hour later on it worked but we had to dropped all the baggages maybe around 335 passengers that night. It was tiring a night 😬 I admit it the luggages are so heavy😂😭😭 *sigh* I did not know the worst part of working on the ground airport is that when the SSBD is not working. One more thing, passengers are so worried about their luggages if it’s gonna go into their final destination or not😂 so we made sure that everyone knows about the situation. #ILOVEMYCATHAYPLACEMENT💙

Woooppppss!! “ Can we sit now? “ “ they closed the kiosk and SSBD already “ “ let’s sit “ the only words that you can hear throughout our night shift😭😭😩😩 well, we can all say that night shift is very tiring specially when you need to take the TTC bus just to reach home. Night shift is very tiring, I noticed that every night flight in Cathay pacific has more passengers load than day flight. Can you tell me how tiring to work on a night shift? but guess what?? Thank God I have my friends to talk to throughout our shift in Cathay Pacific. It’s hard to stand for 4 hours infront of the Kiosk, specially sometimes you can’t understand the passengers because some of them don’t speak English so you need to figure it out what are they saying, but thanks to the Cathay staffs for helping us!! 💓💓 sml.

PATIENCE is a virtue & persistence pays Through out my journey in Cathay Pacific, I’ve been into many challenging issues in my life until right now, and I did not know how to manage my time through going to school, work, and placement and have some time with my live ones!! 😭 I know it’s been a tough 3 months of balancing school, work and placement but guess what? I guess I am surviving!! Hopefully(urgh) cross fingers😂😭😭 3 months in Cathay Pacific, I found happiness at the same time tiredness, and being impatience sometimes because some passengers are being so impatient when there is a delay about their flight but the most thing that I’ve learned in Cathay Journey is that PATIENCE IS THE KEY OF EVERYTHING!!💓🙃

Stressful hours yet full of happiness!! 😹😹❤️❤️
School+3 Online courses+Work+Placement = Tell me how do I get to manage all of this!! :))
6:00 Am, I need to wake up for school, then stay at the school until 5:00 pm, after school go to Airport until 1 am in the morning and get home like 3:00 am in the morning, and still have to get up for my 8:00 am class 😩 ohh, how tiring my life is right now. All I want to do is get some sleep and rest 😴 but, it’s okay at the end of the day all of these are going to be worth it.
8:45 pm arrived at the airport, grabbed some iced coffee because I was way to sleepy zzzzz, went to the CX office and have some talked with my classmates.
9:15 pm, they called us already for briefing. We went down start to work, I was so happy because some of the passengers were Filipino, they were so happy too because I heard d them.. they thought I was a Chinese so they did not approached me until I went to their spot. It is so funny because every time I work at the airport they’re always talk to me in Chinese 😆 but I am not🤔 I saw some of my friends too at the airport who are going back home to the Philippines( ofc, made me jealous 😭 ), I saw my Aunts and my second cousins too this night.
I was too tired this day, so I went home and eat watch some movies and did my homeworks!!
Pretty tiring day yet I am still fighting for the future 😛

Busy day + full flight ( 375 Passengers ) + Airport was packed, and guess what? Our BAGGAGE DROP OFF wasn’t working at all!! Urgh, it was a busy night, tiring night, I don’t know how to explain what happened this night but the only thing is we survived 🙌 Thank God.
I worked at my job in the morning 6:30 am till 3 pm, then went to the airport at 7:30 pm, what a tiring day 😴 I am supposed to work at the SVD this night but then since it wasn’t woking at all, I had to stand in front of the counter for the shift to assist and guide all the passengers whenever the person in the counter is ready to assist the passenger😬 There were so many passengers that are pissed but what we can do? but Hannah and I did an awesome work, we apologized and at least did are best to make the passengers calm 😆
At the end of the day, we still survived the busiest night of our week 😀

MAY 15th SECOND DAY!! 🛫
Yay! Of course, I am excited with my second day. Excited to learn more about kiosks this time, I was scheduled in the kiosk this day. Urgh, I am not gonping to lie. It was horrible because my patience got tested on this station, I was so exhausted because there was a lot of Chinese passengers ( I know it’s an Asian Airline ) but how I wish, I can speak and undesrtand Chinese like my mom. It was hard to helped some of them because they don’t speak English, but I am glad I was able to helped them at least I tried my best, even though some of them got mad at me because I could not able to helped them, but of course thanks to Tina and Brian the ground staffs who helped me in the kiosk, and to April and Barbara who helped to walked through in the Kiosk area.
It was been a tough week for me because my mom got into a surgery, but I am happy that I passed the worse part of my life. I had to managed between work, placement, school plus my mom. I missed a lot of stuffs in school and placement. But thank you to my classmates for switching some of my shifts.
Of course the best part of this shift was, I learned Kiosk this time. ;)) I met some filipinos in my second shift and I saw some of my friends arround the airport, I am so happy to helped my fellow country man. The funny story is I did not know that my Aunt was flying back home that night, so she came up to me and I got scared because she huggged me without saying Hi. HAHAHA It was a fun shift with my classmates. It was a long long day but at least I survived! ;)))

MAY 11th FIRST DAY!! ❤️ My first real shift after the orientation. It was an exhausted day, I got up like 9 o’clock to get ready for my first day of my placement. I was way too excited to start, I got to the Cathay office 10;50 am, when one of the staff said briefing time, I got more excited. I understand some of the stuffs that she talked about, but of course it was my first day so I had no idea what she was talking about, but my excitement on this day was fully 100%. We went to the Gate 2 Terminal 3 to get ready for checking in the passengers, I was in charged in the re-work station on my very first day. I will not deny it, but this station was so boring, I just needed to wait for the passengers who had to check in, in the counter and dropped their luggages in the re-work. I had to stand there for 4 hours with my new heels!! HAHAHA ;( and guess what? my feet was so sore after my shift and I had to go to my other job after work. But of course I had the time to helped Hannah in the SVD station. I am telling you, it is so fun to worked at the airport. And I can imagine my self now as a Flight Attendant someday. First day might be boring because I just started but I learned a lot in my first day. I was way too overwhelmed with my surroundings. I am looking forward with my next shift and learned more things!

My name is Ma Clarizel Tubon, a fourth semester student of Flight Services and Cabin Management. When I heard about the job posting in Cathay Pacific, I was still in Hawaii when I heard about the placement and I was way too excited, so I applied quickly because I wanted to finish my placement already and graduate on October (hopefully). I sent my resume to Miss Ava, I was on my way home when I got an email from Miss Ava that I am one of the students who got picked up for the field placement. I went to the orientation, and I was so happy when I got my name tags, lace for the ID, and my bar code, the orientation was so fun because I got to meet my Cathay Pacific Staffs and with my classmates. My first day wasn’t that bad because I learned a lot of things about how things going to work at the baggage drop, re-work, kiosk and at the counter. Barbara was the one who is guiding me because she worked the night before my first day. However, I found out on my first day that it is so crazy when it comes to day flight because there’s a lot of people who is flying to Hong Kong and Manila. In sum up of my first day, I had fun and enjoyed working with my CX Family, and I am so excited to get my own RAIC and continue to achieve my own career through my journey in Cathay Pacific.
