What is Quake to me?
That is something that takes alot of detail to tread on. I'll try my best to keep it interesting. This is less on how I see Quake as a game but more as I see it as an experience and more so what I can imagine what it "could" be. Lets get on with it shall we?
So imagine this, a world not among any worlds but among a lost plane of existence, barely in our own universe. The Earth, our home couldn't be farther away. Massive buildings and almost beautiful architecture so large and vast that it could be considered an empire. Cathedrals, arenas, castles and ancient temples of civilizations older than man. Made by other wordly beings that died eons before us and worshipped gods long gone. That all we hear is their whispers and cries of the day they saw the ultimate end.
Paintings and murals of arcane races across dimensions worshipping great and noble anomalies. Statues of their warriors and guardians. Literature of their people and home lands scattered in the ground and scorched to be nothing but ashes. Signs of decay and dread everywhere. The force of nature cosuming what used to be pure structures.
Great mountaintops of snow and blizzards, monasteries and towers high in the hills of dusty dunes, bleeding palaces of pain sought by what could only be described as demons, silent and lonely hallways and staircases of strongholds and magic keeps to sorcerers and mages. Temples and grand empires to their repsected leaders now in shambles. All this great success of this universe's history just.....gone, broken, and cold to silence.
Yet something still lurks in the shadows of these once great places. Something that haunts and preys upon the unfortunate. There is only one that treaded this path in it's history. One life, one blood, one man.
A Ranger.
So yeah thats my perspective on it. It sounds pretty far from what Quake 1 is. But that is just the way I imagine it and if ID Software and Bethesda didn't have their heads stuck up their asses they would make a proper reboot to the original than make an Overwatch clone of Quake's MP. Oh well hopefully this gives you an idea on what I'd to see in a potential reboot or sequel. Maybe someday. If you want a better idea of what I am talking about, play Arcane Dimensions ;) Those guys did it right.

Well looks like this is it
If you all had most likely heard. Tumblr is going to cut all adult content from it's site. And three quarters of the site is full of adult blogs and nsafw artists, they will be forced to migrate to places like Twitter and Furaffinity where rules are less strict now.
It is truly disheartening to see such a thing happen to Tumblr since I go here everyday to look at my favorite memes, gifs, and of course art. I met some of the best blogs and artists on here such as @troutdraws , @stedilnik , and the reason I came here in the first place @arborix .Seriously without these people and so many of you all this site would be shallow. And so I thank you for your service and creations that make people like me happy to jump on and enjoy some of this stuff.
I know im speaking like Tumblrs about to get nuked and all but you gotta come to understand that a big chunk of this site is nsfw and that is gonna be revoked. It's gonna hurt Tumblr bad, real bad. I just hope its not for the long run and we can somewhat get back. Dont worry I'll still be posting here since my art and stuff is sfw so that's not a problem, ill also consider moving to Furaffinity and perhaps good ol deviant art since the support here has been awesome and I thank all those who had given me feedbakc and enjoy my art even just a little. For now its best to just sit back and watch the bombs fall on this once beautifully sinful world.

Castier and Baphomet are alot like a bromance couple. Partners in crime that have been togwther forever and wont let one another down. It's love for sure but not enough for a relationship but it sure is close. Their stories are shown merely by their attitude and visage alone. It truly is my favorite oc duo that I have made and I hope to expand on them to you all.

Crash and Phobos
Okay so this has been picking at me for a good while now and I feel as though I need to spit this out already.
So lets get to it shall we?
Crash
According to the Quake 3 lore (which is what Ill be using as context for these characters today) is that is Doom's military instructor. And thats pretty much it. Besides being an easy tutorial bot she has some remarkable attributes. She wears armor very similar to the OG Doomguy himself but this time its a pearl like grey to a light green color. Her biceps and abdomen is also exposed just like Doomguy. Her suit seems to be a different standard issue to fit her "anatomy" but her boots are just like the other Doom characters looking rather chunky on her. She is a fan of using the Plasma Rifle and when a bot will mostly likey go for it. She lets out a deep grunt and shriek when damaged and fragged. This could be the helmet causing her to sound this way or perhaps that is just how she is. When talking to her via the command console she seems to be very serious and sustaind herself for the fight over everything else. Overall a pretty good character in my opinion.
Phobos
A courageous, determined soldier, used to command, Phobos has got that "officer and a gentleman" esprit d'corps. Unfortunately, his last mission taught him about betrayal and sabotage. He trusts no one and nothing expcept his training. He was trained very well...at least from what the bio on him states. The stand out feature of him besides his bright orange armor is that he seems to be the only black Doom marine. Which is a cool thing to think about that he could be the black guy version of Doomguy. Anyways beisdes that his stature and anatomy are exactly like Doomguy. He has become over enfautuated with his primary mission and he will stop at nothing until he sees it through. He seems to also like the Plasma Rifle and makes a very deep damaged and fragged sound just like Doomguy. So all in all he is another interesting one that can be expanded upon.
Wot I thunk
These two are very awesome characters in my opinion and I would really like them to be fleshed out or perhaps get a nice makeover. This is where my thoughts ramble in that I wish for these two to be added back into the ID universe. In the Doom universe they can be really central marines that could have some lore to them or as I mentioned a while back, can be used as players 2 and 3 for the Doom Eternal co op feature. They could have physical overhalls like the Doomguy had with brand new armor and new attitude. Another option is to make them champions in Quake Champions just like how they were in Quake 3. They would have equal stats as the Doomslayer but for abilities that could up for ID to decide for themselves. So this is just something I wanted to get off my chest. If you guys agree that's great and if you dont tell me your thoughts. I really want to get this conversation going off into the mainstream.

I will never "ever" buy smash until Doomslayer is added to the roster. Doom for switch was the start and now nintendo has him in their grasp.
Newcomer Concept: Doomslayer/Doomguy
I’ll start with my top Newcomer wish - The protagonist of the DOOM series and the grandfather of the FPS genre, Doomguy, or how he is more commonly known these days, the Doomslayer!

Let me get this out of the way: I do understand that Doomguy/slayer (I’ll be addressing him as Doomslayer through the post, since I find it more fitting for the playstyle I think he would have) might be a bit too… Brutal for the family friendly image of Nintendo. But, as many have raised before me, Smash Bros already have Snake and Bayonetta, series with similiar amount of violence (more so Bayonetta than Metal Gear). And besides, Smash is no stranger to doing a bit of censoring (Bayonetta doesn’t get nearly as nude as in her games, Snake doesn’t pull out any realistic looking guns other than the RPG), and DOOM 2016 gave him weapons more futuristic and unrealistic unlike his weapons in the original game. And not just that, but in a game full of gaming icons, Doomslayer fits the bill almost too well, given his popularity in the 90′s and more importantly, the pioneer in the first person shooter genre alongside Wolfenstein. I’ll refrain from talking about how likely he is to making it, since I don’t think I should put anyone’s expectations high or low and because a few years back, I’d have told you Cloud would’ve never made it into Smash.

Anyway, let’s rip and tear through Doomslayer and see how he would play! First, let’s get through what I think would be his central “gimmick”: DOOM is very much a game about jumping into the action, so I feel like he’d have to be a very offensive fighter, a one man bulldozer through everyone in his path. His B-moves would be definitely ranged attacks made of his weapons, however, if Doomslayer just had to stand far from his enemy and attack, I feel like it just wouldn’t be the correct representation for the character. To “fix” this, I’d make Doomslayer have an ammo count for his weapons, and to replenish the ammo count, he’d have to grab his enemies, similarly to the glory kill mechanic in DOOM 2016 (except not as gory, you know). That way, even if the player tried to zone out the enemy, he simply would be forced to come up close so he can grab that ammo.
So, what would be his move set in general then? Well, his A-moves could be him going berserk on the enemies and just using the good old fists and boots. However, for the Smash attacks, I think he could use the chainsaw, and it would also utilize the ammo system, so if you were with ammo for it, the chainsaw would deal continuous damage to the foe before sending them flying, while when the chainsaw ran out of ammo, it’d simply wack the enemy like your usual sword, dealing less damage. B-moves would be were his weapons are used most. His neutral B could be something like the pistol, and similarly to Bayonetta’s Bullet Climax, where he can either keep shooting small bullet shots, or hold down B to shot a more powerful blast, just like the Charged Energy Shot modification from DOOM 2016. Up B could be the Delta V Jump-Boots, although they could also be used as the animation for his second jump, which would be more fitting, however, consider that it might be best to have his recovery not have to rely on the ammo system (although Robin also does have to deal with not having recovery if he wastes Elwind). Alternatively, Up B could be the famous Rocket Jumping technique that actually had it’s beginning in DOOM, but then became famous through Quake, damaging the enemies below Doomslayer, and if he doesn’t have ground below him, well we could take the liberty of just having an explosion on his feet. Of course, this would waste Rocket ammo, so the players should be careful about using it, and while I don’t think that should be the case, if Smash wanted to be real accurate to the games, Rocket Jumping could always damage you too in the process of using it. His Side B could be the Combat Shotgun, simply because it wouldn’t be right to have Doomslayer without a Shotgun at his disposal. Extra points if his shotgun was actually the Super Shotgun, which would’ve been even more iconic, but would be more of a pain to adapt, given that it looks far too much like a realistic gun. Down B could be used to fill in with just about any weapon, but I’ll say the Gauss Cannon that needs to be charged up to shot a powerful blast, just like Samus’ Charge Shot.
However, if you are a DOOM enthusiast, you know there’s is only one weapon missing from his arsenal that he just HAS to have. None other than the BFG, which would be reserved for his Final Smash, quickly moving forward, destroying everything in it’s path, and launching enemies quickly through the air. Alternatively, if transformation Final Smashes ever come back, he could enter berserk mode and be locked to his A moves, doing massive damage and being unable to be launched.
As far as things that aren’t moves… Well, I’ll refrain from touching representation besides a character in Smash, but as far as Doomslayer goes, I think the obvious answer for a costume would be his classic look (Especially the one from Quake), which would be an easy costume to make and would please fans of the classics (and the simplistic design would be more fitting to the mascots of Smash). His taunts and victory animations are easy: Just take a few poses or something from the DOOM 2016 online and call it a day (bonus points for the Carlton or “Pennywise” dance). Also, if Doomslayer doesn’t do his classic scream when he is blasted off stage, you might as well not add him. And if he doesn’t get into stage while cocking a shotgun like when he leaves the elevator at the start of DOOM 2016… Again, you might as well not add him in the game.
Overall, he has the chance of being a pretty unique and interesting fighter. I know some might point to the ammo mechanic being similar to Robin’s gimmick, but I think there is enough there to differentiate the two in terms of fighting and what the gimmick implies for the character. I’d say he totally fits the bill of being a gaming legend, and definitely deserves a spot among the fighters of Smash. Are you a fan of Doomslayer? Would you be happy if he got in the game? How would you react? Do you have any other idea of how he could play like? Let me know!

Doom is something as important to people as many historic artifacts and should be respected that way. Sure it's "just a video game" but it has so much historical significance and importance to the gaming industry. A exhibit dedicated to explaining the history of its development and legacy would be amazing. Many will disagree but there arent that many games like Doom taht make such a staple imoact and stand strong to this day.

Mark Diaz, game programmer currently working at id software, suggested the idea of a museum entirely dedicated to DOOM.
And in all honesty? I couldn’t agree more.
I think a potential DOOM museum should include the original toy guns used for the graphics, the original latex models of the demons, all known shareware packages of the game, the master disks. Hell, you could probably include a random, interactive piece of hardware and let the visitors attempt to make it run DOOM, I dunno!
Looking back at the impact it caused in the gaming industry in both short and long term, I firmly believe that DOOM belongs in the same group of retro videogames that are used as ensigns of the all-time videogame classics.
All it takes is for id software/Zenimax to let such thing happen and lend the DOOM memorabilia they have in their hands. The franchise is about to turn 25 years old and it definitely has all the markings of a true classic. Or what do you think?

Concerns regarding the "in the works" Doom film
Alright so lets get something straight. I am a massive Doom fan. And I mean MASSIVE. I may not have been around in the glory days of the 90s but I had played all the games and been with the community for a while now and its my favorite game franchise of all time. This will not be a complete circle jerk commentary but even if love and defend Doom forever and ever I can agree with most of you that the 2005 Doom film was absolute garbage. There's no avoiding that. Game based movies dont do too well most of the time that much is true.
When I had gotten word that another Doom film is being made by Universal I was both fanatic and worried. From the recent news I have gathered together which is vague since the film is just being announced there will be a main female actor who had appeared in some shows and has done music if im correct. The director who was choosen had worked on some pretty disliked movies in the past which what worried me for the most part. But what makes me finalize that Universal is treating this like a simple cash grab for Doom 2016's success and Doom Eternal's arrival is the fact that THEY WONT EVEN RELEASE IT IN THEATERS. Now mind you this is speculation but from what I gathered it will most likely be a staright to DVD or staright to streaming service film which just sucks and kinda feeds the point on how little that Universal is treating this film.
It's really sad for someone like me who loves the game's and wants to see every iteration of media on it to succeed with flying colors. But with all this info it just doesnt seem that way. I hope that they prove me wrong and this will be a decent film that pays attention to the game's central focus and lore.
I know not many people care about the lore of Doom and its great that the gameplay was first over the story in the reboot but if Doom will be produced into a film then lore is pretty vital for substance. Not much but enough to push it out there. I had watched a video talking about how a Doom movie can be executed and for the most part I agreee on it. A Mad Max Fury Road type ordeal with a silent or barely talkative protagonist who's actions display his character who is by himself in a cursed place filled with utter evil and he is built for only one purpose. No words. Kill demons. Thats it. It makes me wonder who they would cast as the Doom marine or Doom Slayer for that matter. And what the demons and whole aesthetic would look like if they would base it all off the 2016 reboot as if a spin off or do a whole new style but from the photos posted by the team of the set designs it looks very Alien Covenant to me which isnt a bad thing mind you but I would defiantly like to see what they can do to convey the UAC and the lands of Hell.
This is just bantering at this point but im really hoping this isnt a total failure. And maybe Universal will change their damn mind and choose to release it in theaters because something like this needs to be put to public audiences so more people can get into this franchise and see. But thats enough from me what do you guys think. I really wanna hear your opinions on this.
