SHRUGGING as she tossed her blonde locks over her shoulder, starr wasn’t quite sure how to answer that question. “honestly, i haven’t gotten a chance to try any of them yet,” she glanced down the strip lined with stores and restaurants. today was the first day she’d really been able to wonder around sans colette, which definitely made it a little easier to really soak it all in. “there’s, like… a pastry shoppe or something that looks pretty good. i don’t know, i’m guessing you haven’t gotten around to trying any either?”

SHE SHOOK HER HEAD at the other girls question. ‘’ actually no, that’s why I was asking, ‘’ tiny chuckled. ‘’ of course I could just pick one but ‘reviews’ are always nice y’know, ‘’ she explained herself – even though she might didn’t have. ‘’ your hair is gorgeous, is it your natural shade? ‘’ she arched a brow, inspecting the blonde with a smile on her face.

GLITTER PAINTED NAILS tapped the desk before her and a pair thin black sunglasses were covering up half of her eyes, she scanned the place. it wasn’t what she had expected, but sweet water plaza had its quirks. the person in front her catches her eye, ‘’ the restaurants here – ‘’ she started, pausing for a moment. ‘’ they any good? ‘’

“well then - you can count me IN.” as if there had even been a risk of her being out in the first place. whether manicures were a requirement or not, jellybean would have sucked it up and made it work for the sake of time well spent with a friend. wasn’t that how these exact sort of dynamics were supposed to WORK? “no, no - that sounds perfect. REALLY. i don’t think i have enough energy left for a wild weekend, this time, but chillaxing with some grub and trashy horror movies? i’m game.” in fact, she was EXCITED. “i’ll even make up all your pops favorites - so long as you promise you won’t subject me to halloween three through to eight. two can stay, but it’s on thin fuckin’ ice.”

CLEMENTINE smirked as the girl agreed to the plans, it wasn’t an easy thing to get her out, that was for sure. ‘’ YES – I knew I'd be able to get you all to myself! ‘’ she joked, a ‘mo-hahaha’ laugh left her mouth as she did. ‘’ but! the seventh movie wasn’t even that bad, c’mon, I know you secretly like them and that they all have a special place in your heart, ‘’ the girl teased.

stupid. it wasn’t a word that jellybean often liked to apply to herself - if there was one thing she didn’t lack it was brains - but in that moment, she felt it. for someone who had at a point been intimate with DEATH, it was still something that she felt wholly unversed in, and pops being gone was a reality she had yet to face. thank god for clementine and her easy subject change. “i guess i do need to take a break at some point,” she mused, eyes dancing, “i can probably pencil in a little girl time - depending on just how GIRLY we’re talking. will there be manicures?”

‘’ MANICURES are off the list, princess, ‘’ clementine smiled as she saw how unsure jellybean got, it amused her, she knew the other girl was not the typical girly-girl. ‘’ I'm thinking maybe a night in, scary movies and some snacks? or y’know we could do anything, really.. ‘’ she explained to her, she hadn’t really planned it out – yet.

an easy dozen coursebooks laid out around her and her pops apron still tied around her waist, jellybean looked the very definition of a girl with TOO MUCH on her hands - and to say that clementine’s appearance was a welcome distraction would have been a drastic understatement. “work of both the waitressing and college kind? i didn’t have any plans,” she closed over the notepad she had been scribbling in and plucked a fry from her plate, nibbling the end, thoughtfully, as she waited to see why the question had been broached - lips turning upward at the comment. “you’re lucky POPS isn’t here to hear that comparison you’re making-” she hadn’t thought about the choice of words until it was too late. the namesakes death was still so fresh - jellybean had, in a momentarily lapse, completely forgotten that he hadn’t just stepped out back. he was GONE, gone, and as the realization struck her, the smile that had only just appeared SLIPPED. quickly working to backtrack and forget her slip, she threw a question tiny’s way - “why? is there something hip happening in town i should know ‘bout?” 

IT’S NOT LIKE she was trying to sound preppy, or even snobby at all, but she quickly shaked her head as she heard how the words came out the wrong way. ‘’ yeah, ‘’ clementine looked up at the waitress, her smile dying down too as she mentioned  his  name. she bit her lip for a second, ‘’ not really, I just need some alone girl time with you, I think it’s much needed for your busy schedule of waitressing and college-ing, ‘’ the girl let out a sweet laugh.

CLEMENTINE sighed as she made herself comfortable in the seat on the opposite side of jellybean. ‘‘ what you doin’ this weekend, girl? ’’ she reached for one of the other girls fries and dipped it in the small paper cup filled with ketchup. ‘‘ god, Pop’s will be like a McDonald’s Jr if they keep up with that shit, ’’ brown eyes giving the paper cup a glare – as if it was a person on its own.
