More GW2 art!! Let me introduce you to professor Yakkey!

I've only ever really focused on Enn (my main, reaper) and I decided I wanted to try another class properly, so I went for engineer cuz it sounded hard but fun cuz, you know, guns. So I made my lil asura (because of course he's an asura) and started playing around.

And then my mind started wondering, adding him to Enn's story, headcanoning a bunch of stuff and then I feel in love with my new lil angsty rat. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAA

I'm only just finishing LWS2 with him, so there's still a lot to do story-wise for him, but it's so very fun!

I keep sketching him everywhere so I wanted to make a proper drawing of him and when I was taking screenshots for references he looked so angry and funny that I used that as a base for this drawing lmao.

Anyway quick, short intro for anyone who cares: Yakkey specializes in biomedical engineering and, even more specifically, in making prosthetics look as close to the limbs they're replacing as possible.

He's a doctor, but people call him professor because that's what his krewe calls him. It kind of started as a joke, but it just stuck.

He's a Magister for the Durmand Priory and could potentially go even higher, but he isn't as interested in that at the moment.

And some small headcanons:

He got the scar on his face from a rogue golem back in college.

His eyes are sensitive, so he wears glasses most of the time.

His eyes also look strange so people tend to stare, which he hates, so, again, glasses.

He's gay af and has a situationship 👀 going on with Canach. Why? Because I say so.

guild wars 2's story is largely a middling rpg plot, like 5/10 and 7/10s across the board, it doesn't do anything too special or deep but it has decently engaging characters and the accompanying world design makes it fun to play and see what happens next. and then occasionally it spends a grand total of 2 seconds focusing on something so fascinating and so engaging it knocks my socks off. and then it never touches on that topic again. and this is how it has single-handedly made me lose my marbles

I love charr tech but it looks so bad for the environment. Do you think tyria regards charr vehicles (outside of war) like those unnecessarily huge double wide modded pickup trucks with like 5 extra exhaust pipes to maximize the area of the pitch black diesel exhaust cloud? What would you do if you were on your raptor commute to work and a guy with dominion flags and a hyper realistic charr ball sack ornament on the back of his dune roller wouldn't let you merge

ELDER DRAGON WEEK 2025 - Cycle

I've been traveling recently without much free time, but I finished this piece up today just in time to participate in @gw2communityevents's 2025 Elder Dragon Week.

I don't have writing to go with this piece, but the big inspiration was the parallels between Aurene and Caithe; the scions and the sylvari, and where they stand without the looming presence of the Dragon Cycle to inform/define their purpose, origins, and family.

I had this dream the other night where I was playing GW2 and the idea was that Mordremoth came back to be the Biggest Bad and like, repurposed the entire jungle to lift up and form him a new body. It was awesome, ngl, but you had to traverse this Labyrinth to get to him, and I took a wrong turn and saw a portal that was just labeled “Caithe’s Trash Pile”. And immediately I was like, fuck whatever is happening with the story, I’ve got to see this So I went to the portal but nothing happened, and I was SO DISAPPOINTED. I rationalized that it was GOING to be something but they just didn’t code it in, or it was a leftover artifact, but ever since I had that dream I have wanted nothing more than to go to Caithe’s Trash Pile
