Both immortal.)#Her dad probably has mostly immortal friends at this point and he's been kind of protective of her#so she's got a lot to figure out

I wonder what Drac's whole... situation is with aging? Like... Her whole being 1600 years thing is more of a bit than anything. Other than her diary entry about being born during the Roman Empire, it's not a big part of her character. How long has she been a teenager? Since she was turned? Or was she a child when she became a vampire and is growing up very slowly? That would make sense with her not seeming to remember much about her mom. And also maybe with how her vampire powers haven't all manifested yet? And could her being a late bloomer have to do with her not drinking blood? Like she's healthy obviously but she just isn't that powerful because of it? How long has she been in high school? Why is she in high school? Just for the social interaction or does she go there to get a contemporary diploma because the one she got 120 years ago expired? Does she even need one? There are so many questions and so many ways to interpret her character I don't even know where to start

Ok but Dead Fast: Night of the Living (2002) has no business being considered the worst Dead Fast movie when the MCU (Murder Cinematic Universe) not only retconned his origin story to make him a virus zombie rather than a curse zombie (which throws off his entire arc about being something more than his deeds!) AND made him be allied with B.L.I.G.H.T. of all organizations because Like say what you will about NOTL and the forced heterosexual romantic plot but at least 1) it gets what makes Dead Fast a hero and 2) GIVES HIS LOVE INTEREST A PERSONALITY AND SOMETHING TO DO

So, I went digging through some old documents and found this section from a roadtrip fic I was planning way before G3 dropped lmao.

Jackson: gets yelled out of the party car for playing cringe

Ghoulia: Plays the exact same music but does not get bullied because it’s cool when she does it

Frankie: mostly just top hits and everyone's like whoo nice but you have no personality. Then she’s too late to hit skip on one of her absolutely not pop songs and draculaura almost crashes the car.

Draculaura: would get kicked out of the car for having an unprecedented amount of Taylor Swift on her playlist but unfortunately it is her car and no one can stop her.

Clawdeen: everyone liked that. Cleo complains about foul language but she listens to the same artists so…

Lagoona: why are they all country songs. Who hurt you

Abbey: plays some chill music when most ppl are asleep, but also teaches everyone “traditional” folk songs that are mostly her country’s version of 100 bottles.

Holt: no one will sleep on his watch. either trashy dubstep or surprisingly advanced pop songs + a half hour lecture on why they’re masterpieces of musical engineering. Operetta and Deuce are there for his explanations.

sure, G3 Dracula is a relatable father figure for a lot of kids, but he doesn’t quite have the same storytelling potential as G1 Dracula. I mean just imagine:

A man who was tired of the narrow-mindedness and aristocracy of Vampire Culture, and so tried to distance himself from it by moving to a recluse area, where the locals feared an hated him. Met a pregnant woman whom had been cast out by her own people, and strangely enough held no hatred for him. Helped her become financially stable so she and her child didn’t have to be homeless and starving. Was unable to save her life, but arrived just in time to save her daughter by turning her into a vampire. Took the daughter under his wing and raised her as his own. Brought her to live immersed in Vampire Culture when they were chased away from their home. Realized that nothing had changed since he left and the aristocracy was as backwards and toxic as ever. Decided he did not want to raise his daughter in that environment and moved to a multicultural monster-neighborhood in America to get as far away from their Vampire Supremacist bs as possible, and so Draculaura could have more friends her age and have regular teenager problems.

I mean. There’s so much you could get into here. G1 one never really did get into it, but it’s there for your imagination to have fun with.
