Dream's Fear of Thunder

This operates under the assumption that Dream was conscious while in stone.

Canon Dream is afraid of thunder.

Thunder makes sound.

If Dream was conscious in the stone, there's a good chance he'd be able to hear thunder. Because of that, though, wouldn't his fear turn into something else? The thunder may literally be one of the only things reminding him that he's still existing! He'd likely take comfort in it after a while, because it's one of the only sensations he can still experience while stuck in his stone prison. It'd keep him sane, even if only a little.

Other sounds would, too. Because, when you're trapped inside/as a stone statue, senses are..lacking, to say the least. I've seen some interpretations in which Dream could see and smell, but, ignoring that, the only thing that he'd be able to do is hear. That once-fear would turn into something anticipated, desired. Maybe he'd be able to hear the rain, too, and wild animals. Would that mean that he'd get over his fear of owls, too? Perhaps.

I mean..he'd still absolutely lose it if he were trapped in stone for five centuries, but in magical fanfiction land, this makes sense.

New headcanon accepted.

The Struggle

Spending literal hours scrolling through my own story to find that one sentence I wrote nearly six months ago in order that foreshadows the current chapter I'm writing, but I can't find it and now I'm wondering if I've gone insane. Did it ever exist? Was it a dream?

Might as well just add Prunsel to the story at this point.
