List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the ask box of the last 10 people who reblogged something from you. Learn to know your mutuals and followers ✨
You know what, I’ll finally get to this since I’m home 24/7 now.
- Being quiet with my animals, soaking up contentment.
- Jumping when my horse is joyful, fit, and “pain free”
- Hiking with my dog
- Hiking with Rosie (only second to my dog because I can’t go as many places with her)
- And writing essays I actually care about

Larken did some hoof targeting today, unlike hip targeting she caught onto it right away!! She was able to do all four hoofers and we even managed to do a diagonal! I'm hoping to use this in the future to possible teach her piaffe (??), I don't know yet haha. Anyway, I'm so surprised at how fast she learned this, such a smart pon!! 😁👌 *using a picture of her jumping today because I didn't video tape the session, whoops #Larken #haflinger #positivereinforcment #clickertraining #clickertraineddressage #jumping

I think it's important to not focus on what we've done wrong and focus more on educating and improving ourselves so that we don't make those mistakes again. Clicker training horses can be challenging to say the least, when I make a mistake most people blame it on the type of reinforcement and not the underlying problem with how I'm using it. I've made an insane amount of mistakes in my training and over time I've realized that beating myself up over it does nothing, but researching and asking questions is how I've made it this far without giving up. Lastly, never believe what someone says just because of how well their horses behave or how fast their methods work because things aren't always what they seem. Do your research. #clickertraining #positivereinforcment #horsetraining #sciencebasedhorsetraining

Something to consider when viewing breeds/disciplines that encourage high/tense tail carriage, or low, slack carriage. Tail carriage is symptomatic of the state of the back, which means that (unless the horse has had some sort of procedure to permanently or semi-permanently alter their tail carriage), it’s something that can and will change as the horse’s training improves. When Frostrós arrived here, she carried her tail up in the air like a parade horse because of stiffness in her back. As she learned to work correctly through her body, she now carries her tail as described above - horizontally, swinging with her movement. Longstanding postural habits can be changed and improved for the benefit of the horse through training - just because a horse “naturally” moves or carries themselves a certain way doesn’t mean that it’s the best thing for their body in the longterm.

How much for the D ring rubber mouthed bit (IDK what else to call it??)

Think I’m gonna sell off some of my collection, these are the guys I’ve messed with enough to be satisfied and don’t think I’ll have a real use for, while also being not douchey enough to feel bad about selling.
If anybody is interested lmk otherwise I’m gonna b posting them on bit trader.

Rudi is settling in at my aunts barn today. Apparently she was very mad at the pinto iclandic mare, but hopefully she will settle eventually. The bottom picture is of Stråle for those who asked for pictures of her, haven’t seen her for years but she seemed to recognize me.

Ava is on antibiotics and being prepped to go into surgery tomorrow morning… she’s super spooked and hasn’t seemed to settled in at the clinic yet. If everything goes as planed she’ll hopefully be ready to come home in a week.… Fingers crossed for a smooth surgery and recovery. Stay strong my beautiful girl
