• Walls of Zion •⁠ This one comes from a trip a couple years back during a morning spent wandering Zion canyon. If you stop for a bit and just look around and take it all in, you can find some amazing and not so dramatic views of the canyon walls. The trees just cling on and keep on going. •⁠ Remnants •⁠ New Limited Edition Release This is my latest release into my limited edition collection. I came across this small scene last Fall in Zion National Park while exploring the various washes for Fall Colors. It was a bit past peak in the area, but it was a serene place to be. Walking and watching and exploring. This particular scene caught my eye due to the shape of the dead and weathered log surrounded by the various fallen leaves. There was just something about the old dead branch surrounded by dead and dying leaves. It was almost like the leaves resting beside a fallen brother or something. It was a special experience exploring this area all to myself. • Moment of Perfection •⁣⠀⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ It's been a long time since my last post. Hopefully this one is worth the wait. The Narrows of Zion really are a magical place. I was one of the first people up the canyon this particular morning last Fall. • A New Day •⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ New Release!! Limited Edition of 50. Almost a year ago I visited this area. I'd seen a few images and was amazed by the area. I had to see it for myself. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ It's hard to believe that places like this exist; places that look so alien and out of place yet they do. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ The night was spent hunkered down in my vehicle out of the pounding winds that I'd hoped would calm down for the first light of sunrise. This was a special day for me aside from my first visit to this place. I was embarking on my new journey into large format film photography on this trip and this was the place I wanted try my hand at it. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ I woke up to more wind and blowing sand, which put my chances of using the new 4x5 camera down to almost zero, so I instead resorted to my trusty @Sony A7RII to capture this and a few other images as the first light of the sun hit the cliff edges. However, later on in the morning the winds died down for a brief period and I was able to test out the new camera and start my new journey. ⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ That whole story may not mean a whole lot to a lot of people, but it tells the story of a new day the the new start. A new day to lift myself out of a creative rut I've been in for quite some time. Here's another one of my semi-recent film exposures. While this one is a mixture of a film shot and some digital love as the black and white exposure didn't give me the range I wanted. So I took the color shot and gave it some love with the BW conversion. Cheating a little...maybe. I'm giving myself some leeway here as this was technically the first time ever shooting with my @intrepidcamera 4x5 MKII large format camera and the wind was crazy this morning!⁣⠀ ⁣⠀ Aside from all that, this area is a crazy one. Crazy textures. Crazy features. Just craziness out in the middle of nowhere. ⁣∙ Cecret Sunrise⁣ ∙⁣⠀ ⁣⁣⠀ I found and oldie the other day while going through the archives. This hike is always a great one. Killer views. High elevations. Throw in a lake, some rocks, and an awesome sunrise and you have yourself a winner. ∙ Dragon's Back ∙⠀ ⠀ Utah has some interesting features. Within a few hours you can be exploring mountains filled with wildflowers and moose and then travel down South to what seems like a barren wasteland of rock, dirt and nothingness...almost like looking out over the surface of Mars. How cool is this place?!
